Bring Princess Crown out in English or whatever already. And make a sequel/successor iterating on its awesomely deliberate rpg/action combat system.

Well technically speaking Odin Sphere is spiritual successor to Princess Crown and Vanillaware dont do direct sequels.

Neat and I'd love to buy it if it comes to the West; except I'm not buying anything else on those systems.

Vanillaware, feel free to join...everybody else at this point...and release your shit on PC.

Hell yeah, this would be a much better candidate for a re-release.

I wonder if the rights belong to Sega?
Vanillaware was founded years after Princess Crown (itself made after Kamitani left Capcom where he worked on Saturday Night Slam Masters and D&D: Tower of Doom) after leaving Atlus. So, Atlus (and possibly Sega as they're in the PSP port also) owned that (and now Atlus is Sega anyway).

Nice!.
More Vanillaware games being available on more platforms is always great news. Never played this one either.

Might pick it up on Switch depending on how it runs compared to PS4

Cult video game, that no one has talked about or searched for.

I always like games with themes that are out of the ordinary or that are special.

During the end of the PS2 era, I always wanted to have it because it is a very difficult and rare game to get... In my student days it was difficult for me to get it, but now it's time to do it.

You want Something... You want Something.... YOOOOUUU WAAANNNNNNT SOMEEEEEETHING.

Wow... Not even the maximum power of ps2, can with the magic of GrimGrimoire

Still have this for the PS2 but never got very far as the gameplay itself was more irritating than fun.
If I wanted to play Real Time Strategy I just fire up my PC and play any of the "fill in the blank" Craft games.

So.......any word on a western release? I know there might not have a date but have they said it eventually will come over?

They have the voices in English and they already have English subtitles, the translation and dubbing are already done, so the localization is very likely.

I already want to pre-order on Nintendo Switch but there is no store with this availability yet.

Isn't this another case of "we lost the source code"? I'm sure I read an interview with George Kamitani or a Sega producer somewhere that alluded to that happening.

Princess Crown was ported to both PSP and PS4 (although the PS4 version was a bonus game for 13 Sentinels, and was a port-of-a-port at PSP resolution; the PSP version was itself an authentic port of the Saturn game, making that version a windowed 4:3) so it seems like there would be something to work off there?

a Port of ps4??

How?? A pre-order bonus?

Hey guys, what about Grand Knights History? I didn't know Valnillaware had already a JRPG under their belt. Is it any good?

For LOVE of things good, please announce english version soon.

Man, the art in their games is truly something else. Hope there is no food in this one, I already got a few extra kilos while playing Dragon's Crown. :goog_relieved:

I live the look of their games, but I've never really enjoyed a Vanillaware game. I've tried out Muramasa, Grim Grimoire, and Dragon's Crown and each time I've been left thinking, "well this really could have been quite a bit better."

I've got a still sealed copy of the PS2 version I bought back in 2007, and still have not played. Reason being is I bought and played Odin Sphere at the same time, and I came away disappointed by it. I've played quite a few Vanillaware games, even tangential stuff like Princess Crown or rarities such as Grand Knights History. Every time it's the same thing; The graphics are amazing but the gameplay is half-baked and repetitive. Oh well I'd still sell the PS2 version of GrimGrimoire and buy the PS4 version if it comes west.

Oh this is the weird strategy game. Cool. I wish they would just release them all on Switch. I hadn't heard much about 13 sentinels till recently I might have to get that.

I never finished Muramasa on Wii but would love to play that and Odin Sphere. Games are just so pretty.
