Going off the leaked footage, the GTA community have found out that these ports are based off the crappy mobile versions as a base and that the games contain all the bugs found in them. Buyer beware, this is not worth the price they're asking.

Yeah, i've read the same over there, i won't be paying 55 quid if that is the case, i hope it's not, it's really disappointing if true, i'll pay 16 for the Skyrim AE upgrade instead

SA looks real good in that clip actually.

LOL at this. Apparently if this is real they changed Rimmers to Rinimo, and did so in MS paint?? :messenger_grinning_squinting:

It really looks like they used some AI upscalling tools on original models and textures. Text looks like a prime example of failed OCR and lines are simple approximation from original.
I mean, it's of course completely fine to use such tools as long as someone's gonna take the effort and manually correct the results.

Thanks for that info! I was mildly interested in this because this collection sounded like a good deal but I will hold off for now. Maybe the games will be patched down the line.

Don't know anything about all that technical stuff but that sounds more likely than MS paint lol but yeah not really indicative of something lavished with care. Seems like a cash grab unfortunately if the radio stations are indeed gutted which almost certainly they are. Better off playing the originals on PC.

Even though they're the old games I'd like to remind folks how awesome it was to be anticipating these games before the overflow of info. Hype was really what hype should be.

Waiting for magazines and reading about things instead or just putting so much info out. And the GTA nostalgia gets me 3xcited for the next one.

This will do for now.

i'm happy with the visuals but will hold off and see about bugs/performance. but if i can find a dirt cheap copy on PC i'll jump right in.

San Andreas looks great from what footage I've seen. It was already the most modern of the games and I think the upgrades work well with the overall aesthetics. I'm not so sure about the rest...

I like that they've added grass in general, it looks good.

Excited to replay these. GTA 3 came out when I was in 10th grade and I remember OBSESSING over it during the lead up to release. It was all my friends and I could talk about at the time. That said, waiting for impressions and reviews before buying because of how little we have seen so far.

Edit: Watching the stream I haven't seen anything to turn me off the remasters. If it is a remaster of the mobile versions, were those bad? Will still wait for more in-depth reviews.

So apparently they carried over some of the bugs from the infamous San Andreas mobile port

Someone needs to go through this checklist and confirm what did they fix (if anything)

I dont think its been confirmed but i assume these remasters were outsourced?.
I'd like to think so because to see such legendary and iconic games, by a legendary and iconic studio, show a pretty lazy and half arsed remaster, it actually makes me a little sad, sad for the memories and nostalgia of these games back on PS2.
You would of thought pride alone, pride in your own history, if nothing else, would of produced better results than this.

It was outsourced to Grove Street Games.

They were done by Grove Street Games.

Disgusting.

Pretty happy with what I've seen that has been leaked.

Literally only the character models bother me. The lighting changes and environments look stunning for a remaster. I have a feeling I'll be very happy with this.

Man Vice City has been gutted. The best game soundtrack ever imo and now its like half the songs gone.
Would be a nice to see Rockstar take a little hit on their profit margins and relicensed the tracks. Much smaller and less wealthy studios can do it so why not them?.

Yeah, same. All in all decent improvement to the originals. Now lets hope its bugfree.
Totally. As long it doesn't crash or have any game breaking bugs I'll be happy with it.

I was not expecting any sort of Mafia type remake as they clearly stated it'd be a remaster with the classic look and feel. So I wasn't surprised at the gameplay. If anything, I'm surprised they put this much work in to the environments for a remaster.

Definitely some flaws, but nothing that will stop me from enjoying the games.

Trailer gave me some hopes, but no, it looks as bad as I expected.

It certainly looks like RenderWare with crappy lightning on top.
