GTA VI Official Trailer

You’re going to catch flack for this but you’re not wrong per se. It looks good but not revolutionary. The thing that sets it apart is the density and the consistent quality despite the density. I feel like it’s definitely going to be a 30 fps game for sure. Watching it on a 77 inch Oled, you can see the aliasing in some parts so it looks real time. Can’t say though.
The leaked alpha footage from Rockstar North's boss' retarded son was running in performance mode at 1440p with FSR2 and very close to holding 60fps. Of course that there'll always be a higher resolution mode capped at 30fps, but what Rockstar has achieved with this title while offering a 60fps option is certainly unheard of in this generation.

It has blown Cyberpunk 2077 on next-gen consoles, Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy XVI and even Forbidden West out of the damn water. Not even Ubisoft's Star Wars Outlaws looks close to this. GTA VI's visuals are insanity.

Look if this looked on the level of sm2 I would’ve called it out. But I’ve played all the graphical heavy hitters (burning shores, Alan wake 2, ratchet and clank, demons souls) and watched many high quality videos of Cyberpunk Pathtracing, this look better than any of them by quite a margin.
Ok then, well.....

The leaked alpha footage doesn't blow anything away, sorry to say.

If it’s 60fps, I’ll certainly be impressed for sure.

Looks drop dead gorgeous, but I dont believe in those animations

They are waaay too good. I bet that they were handcrafted for the trailer and not representative of what we will see during gameplay.

"You cant judge games in development", I know I know, but animations from that leaked gameplay are way inferior and more believable of a real game.

I'll take it with a grain of salt until we see some actual gameplay
Animations are totally believable for a cinematic trailer. Remains to be see how the final game turns out but based on what they did with RDR2 which will be like 8 years old when it comes out? Or like the shit in TLOU2 which will be 5 years old? I wouldn’t put it out of their reach. The budget for this game has to be insane

NPCs are a little corny and cartoony, but they have a little more style in Take2's games than other titles. Of course this is a cinematic trailer, so there's likely going to be substantial downgrades from normal NPCs in the game.

Density looks on par with other top tier games, nothing really groundbreaking there.
They look a little bit unrealistic and over the top to me which i guess was what they were aiming for since this is a parody, but this is what i image americans from florida look like, based purely on what ive seen in the movies.

Can’t say though. Also, she was talking through out the whole trailer and the guy said only one word. Is she the actual main character?
What game looks as good as this? I genuinely want to see what you all are talking about. I’d be ecstatic to play something that’s on this level. I get if the more cartoonish style is just not your thing but if you can’t see the difference between sm2 or cp2077 or horizon and something like this. I don’t know what to say. My only thing is I’m skeptical these visuals are actually possible

Hate to be Debbie Downer here….

I think I’ve long past reached the point of being impressed by R*’s world building. If RDR2 did anything, the sheer technical brilliance on display in crafting such immaculately detailed worlds has, in a way, rendered me largely apathetic to any further advancements in this regard.

Playing through RDR2 recently also has made me pessimistic to the same old antiquated mission and gameplay design that permeates these releases, and is assuredly going to be in this release as well. These games are always a huge dichotomy to me…..massive, immensely detailed worlds giving the illusion of freedom and freeform gameplay exploitative to it, to only have the same “go to the yellow x/area, do what the game deems proper/wander two feet from the developer intended path=FAIL MISSION” BS. I hate to say it, but I’m no longer impressed, and these experiences are nothing but a mundane handholdy bore to marvel at. Until R* gets off their lazy asses and ceases to shovel technical spectacle into my lap to sell me, and instead begins to entirely revamp their same old tired, formulaic, open-world do-as-we-tell-you gameplay style they’ve been leaning on for DECADES, I’m passing.

It is downright criminal that this developer goes to such extents to craft living, breathing worlds, and then decides to not allow the player the ability to step outside their linear path to progression THEY deem suitable. Sorry, I have no interest in playing in what amounts to a bigger, prettier prison.

Writes a lot, says very little
Holy shit the amount of details.

Yup and I have no doubt it will look this good. Look at how great RDR2 looks and thats on last gen!

The crowd density, the animations, the diversity of body types, this legit looks like Florida! lol Rockstar in a whole class on their own.
This looks just ridiculous.

Basically RAGE engine on fucking cocaine, not step on crack, but PURE COCAINE!

It has the best npcs + density ive ever seen, draw distance seems better than most games, but outside of that id have to agree with you. The buildings and vehicles for example look borderline mid.

True, look I don't disagree with James Sawyer Ford James Sawyer Ford regarding the GTA formula , shit...he is correct on it being dated, but its prove, established and works for them. In that area, I feel James is correct, but I feel their aim shouldn't be to just do something different for the sake of it, do something different when it can really change the gaming landscape, but nothing is wrong with continuing something they are literally the best in.

We just don't have too many games that can even match what this team does well, shit the closest thing is a team fucking struggling for 3 years to figure out how to get cop to drive car and shoot...

So I don't think what this team does is that simply or that easy, they just make it look that simple and that easy.

I agree with you though, this is some amazing NPC animations and models for such a open world game, especially the density.

James Sawyer Ford James Sawyer Ford Oh, this is 100% a generational leap. I don't disagree we have good looking games that released this gen, what open world games have released in the context of what we are talking about that have topped this in the areas we can see here?

Like...in the actual open world space?

So we got good looking games, we don't have those games how ever doing everything this game is doing though. Look at Alan Wake 2, fucking amazing looking game. Open world? With this many functions? With those massive crowds? Maybe no.

Its a leap within the context of open world titles. You have to give them that respect. I don't want us to get bogged down with debating what looks like what, I'm not saying ZERO game looks better, I'm saying this game doing exactly what its doing, in the context of open world, is generation defining, no open world game right now is doing exactly this.

generic white guy number 1000 does nothing for me. In the GTA 4 trailer, you could tell Niko had an edge to him. In the GTA 5 trailer, you could tell what type of guy Michael was, or Franklin or Trevor. These two are so boring in this trailer.
People said the same exact thing about Arthur, from the first Trailers all the way to D1.. Turned out what many consider the very best protagonist in gaming history.

Now I know absolutely nothing about writers of this particular game, but R* earned the benefit of the doubt.

It is being layered on thick with the insane shouts. If that’s their genuine view cool , I’m not feeling it . To me it looks like a very nicely refined GTA V/RDR2 .

When I read people say how insane it looks and then watched the trailer for myself, can’t say I agree. It still looks great tho imo.

For me, it looks like Horizon Forbidden west with far more density and a more interesting art direction. That’s its level at least from what I’ve watched. Maybe I’m wrong but that’s my opinion. It most certainly doesn’t wow me.

Maybe, but I’m not holding my breath for sure.

woah, im completely blow away. that redditors wife has an amazing memory cause she nailed all of the scenes.
Last time that shithead probably saw pussy was when he came out of one.

He looks boring af my dude, even his voice is fucking boring.
Design-wise he looks pretty dope, imho.
Rougher than in the leaks where he appeared to me a bit like a redneck.
But we will see, there is too little to judge. Many people hated Arthur Morgan after the second trailer and we all know how that turned out.

Trailer hit all the right notes for me. Only thing I am a bit sad about is that it's not set in the 80s. Last two GTAs were set in modern times so a current gen VC in the 80s with a Pablo Escobar/mexican cartel setting would have been a dream come true. Although this trailer also looks like a dream come true.

Dude, I hope you're dead wrong here but I'm afraid you will turn out to be right. I adore RDR2 but if there's one negative, it's exactly that. It really could use variety or multiple ways to take on these missions. I truly hole VI will offer that, or at least a big step up from V.

Their worlds are always amazing, but some stuff bring it down too. Los Santos was great, but then we had like a handful of buildings we could enter? I truly hope we can access tons of buildings now, we should.

Huh, yeah it doesn’t look like forbidden west or burning shores to me. I could see burning shores kinda getting close to the cgi-ish “look” of this but the detail on everything the amount going on/animation/simulations look to be on another level entirely imo.

2025 + however much longer for it to come out on PC + the time it takes for mods to come out, lets just say 2026 for good measure.

THIS is what I expected current-gen to look like.
Now I realize how old GTA5 looks.
I hope it supports full path tracing like Cyberpunk.

Ngl, this is the very first time a GTA trailer has done nothing for me. I’m interested to see how far they can push their world simulation but generic white guy number 1000 does nothing for me. People thought the same about Morgan. But he turned out to be top tier as fuck. I have faith in rockstar

So we got good looking games, we don't have those games how ever doing everything this game is doing though

There’s many open world games that have more massive scale to enemy encounters.

Obviously that doesn’t make sense in the context of GTA, but nonetheless it’s false that GTA6 is doing everything better than every game before it

True. But some important folks did leave, several writers for example. We'll see. Personally I have to say Arthur is their best protagonist and I just didn't have that with GTA V.

The simulation will better, the animation? I’ll wait till I actually see full gameplay. Simulation will be more detailed because it’s an entirely different type of game which rockstar spent 12 years building. Looking at the last scene where she’s like trust, that’s a close up scene where they can push the graphics as far as they want. What I see there is cross gen. Like I said the game looks good but I don’t think it’ll be impressive because of its graphics. It’ll be impressive because if it’s scale. I can say with full confidence right now that some of Robocops outdoor scenes look better than this game. Many can even successfully argue that AW2 looks better too.
