I can't imagine it would be a straight up Ritualist, since their Spirits were kind of pinched by the existing professions. Weapon Spells seems like it might be too close to Attunements too. That said, they can do whatever the hell they want mechanically and lore wise it's been 250 years so Ritualists may have changed.

That Rytlock started off as a heavy armor profession would make the transition easier too (since I'm fairly confident they'll add a third Soldier class before another Scholar or Adventurer class). And that there isn't a "real" pet class among the Soldiers (not like Necro / Ranger, at least) would help too.

Here's hoping when they introduce a new class, they introduce a new weapon type or new weapon pairings to go with it, so everyone gets something cool, not just those who are willing to re-roll.

Kinda doubt they'd go for new weapon types for classes, since that'd also have to be tied to another trait revision for every single class that gets a new toy.

Adding a new class, tho? Far less work, by comparison. Not like they don't have a precedent of heavily reusing animations.

Couldn't they just give each class a new trait line, and then configure 1-2 new weapon types for each class under that new trait line? that way they wouldn't have to mess with the existing 6 trait lines.

I just dont think new classes make a lot of sense.

I just dont think new classes make a lot of sense.

Each trait line has 13 pickable traits and 3 fixed traits. You'd be talking about 128 new traits, on top of an average of 3 new weapon skills per class at one new weapon introduced, so 24 new wep skills (yes, we ignoring elementalist here), and then you'd also have the bitching form the people that find out that their new kickass weapon is Mainhand Torch. You'd still have to revise the old talent trees to make sure that nothing broke, tho, and find out some 2 stat combo to put on the trait line.

Whereas a new class, which they prolly already have concepts discarded from release, would involve 96 traits and... 5-10 from water weps, 20+ from new wep skills, aaand 22 slot skills, so that's the big one. hmm.

Then again, a new class sells character slots. A new wep, not so much.

I didn't thought about it that way mate. I can see that, that is a lot of work.

I just love the idea because every class gets expanded and made more versitile by adding new weapon types into their rotation. the very idea of a morning star, or polearm, or whip... mmmm...

What GS is that

Silverwaste is a fucking waste, trying to get people organize is fucking nightmare, I got into one decent map yesterday killed all the bosses under ground and didn't realize i needed to have the buff on to get the organs i give up on those shoulders, you either get into a dead map or one that is completely disorganized..

Eh the map doesn't need much organization.

The only difficult boss really is the one with two Teragriffs and even then as long as they're split apart and you pop bubbles they're manageable.

It's a new skin, currently only for npcs but will probably become available in the future.

Ooo

You just need buff and you need to fight the bosses. You don't even have to beat them. (Unless the fixed it). I was getting Mordremoth parts even if we couldn't kill our champ.

It must be an off-hours thing because I can't recall having ever been in a Silverwaste that wasn't at least organized enough to get to the Breach. I've only been in one that successfully beat all 5 breaches (last night, and it wasn't super-organized either). As time goes on and people figure out what needs to happen (I still see people giving bad / wrong advice on how to kill Gold and Silver), it'll get better.

I do agree that the item / buff isn't particularly well explained though. The best you can do is remind folks in map chat and hope they do the same.

Now that I'm not on my phone, here's a link to the datamining thread;
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2lcxim/datamining_chat_codes_and_previews_of_the_new/

Keep in mind that just because they exist in-game and have item codes doesn't necessarily mean they'll be obtainable; the Mistforged Katana that Marjory uses was data-mined as well but it's pretty clear now that won't be available to players.

The Asura who is collecting all the Mordremoth parts will probably sell those weapons.

That actually makes a lot of sense.

Is it just me, or is my computer not showing an attack, but some of the enemies seem to be able to do damage to me by just staring. Far away from the target, no sparks in the ground, conditions or town debuff poison, I just start ticking health downward. Sure, I could open the combat log but that ruins the mystery.

Also you get the organs whether the breach boss dies or not. At least I was getting it. Unless that was a bug >__>

You do need to actually beat them for the zone achievement on each, of course.

Edit: I guess Kos already said this.

So, I'm not really in the mood to play GW2 in this period (and there's Isaac:Rebirth that I need to play). I was wondering if to unlock the "episode" I literally just have to log in once or if I have to complete it first to unlock it.
Never wondered about this before because I was playing more frequently so I didn't have this problem.

Just log into any of your characters. You'll see a floating green star on the bottom right of screen, which means the story has been unlocked.

It's a particularly beautiful and well-designed map, and perfect for guild groups. We can really run the show on Sunday :)

Indigo is my favorite to hold of the three I've tried (don't know what Amber is like at all). The bosses will all go down hard to groups that know what they're doing and completely wreck groups that don't, as it should be.

Bandit Crests should be a currency, people still run around achievement hopping rather than playing their objectives first, and seeing lone Pack bulls breaks my heart (it's not like WvW where escorting a Dolyak is low-priority/low-reward) but all in all it's one of the best zones they've ever done. Can't wait to see the zone evolve and where it leads us- they've definitely recaptured that "tune in next time" atmosphere.

Yeah I was thinking of suggesting that too but he seems to be very busy reenacting his birth so i didn't include that.

Well heck. The cloth rack seems like a fairly good idea. But I only need another 12-14 damask to finish up the Armor Collection. That isn't much compared to all the soft wood I need for weapons. Blargh. Tempted to splurge and buy the wood, cloth, and veggie nodes and be done with it. Slightly annoyed the veggie nodes went on sale instead of the trees.

Why would new weapons need a trait line? Just splice them into the existing weapon traits. Weapon boosting traits should be more universal and less specific anyway.

So for this chapter of living story we can only get the new shoulder armor piece which takes 10 of those individual pieces to get right? You get the pieces needed from extracting luminescence from fighting the bosses in the breaches right? Then how do you give it the glow effect?

Out of curiosity, how many AoE hits can all of you non-zerk peoples take from bosses before going down? Cuz they sure do seem to like their 10k+ hits.

Thats one way to try to break zerk, i guess. Won't work, obviously.

The base comes from finishing the story, getting them as a drop and/or buying them. The collecting parts bit is to get the glowy version :) There is a bunch of different parts to the collection, only about half comes from the bosses.

You get one of the thingies from the event in early Caledon Forest, then just need to interact with a pollen cloud after a defeated breach boss to get the collection item. But yeah, you need to finish out the collection. The most time consuming part is getting each of the carapace shoulders but even then it's not too bad.

So the 10 collection pieces are to make it glowey, Cool I got 1/10 collection pieces for it last night. Was about to get 2/10 but the breach opened at the same time a Legendary was up top and the Legendary wiped half our group so the other half in the breach got wiped by that boss as well. It sucked cause our Purple Commander was doing a real good job getting the breach to open up.

Finally completed the collection and got the shiny shoulders.

Now I'm only missing the Legendary that spawns near Indigo, as well as the boss in Indigo.

Awhile back there was a GAF run of Aetherpath. Think it could be done again? I missed it and it's the only path I need done to get Dungeon Master.

I do these every time I notice enough keys stacked up in my inventory, lol

Sure we can absolutely do another. What days and times work for you?

Sunday is the only day I for sure cannot play, unless it's late at night Eastern time. Some Saturday's are fine but tomorrow won't be. I'm pretty much open every week day for whenever.

CDIs seem like such a terrible idea. "Don't expect things!" "We expect all the things!"

The Housing one went really well, the developers were even surprised by it. Very few people getting shitty, only one person trying to drown the others out, etc. If they add Housing to the game I think there's at least some food for thought in there.

The Raid one, I can't even keep up with. People jumped straight into "Make Guild Wars more like WoW!" mode and it's been a lot of gear progression / trinity -type discussion since, and it got ugly fast.

People setting themselves up for "WoW-style Raiding in Guild Wars 2!" are going to be disappointed as hell. If they do add anything resembling raids, it's going to be so Guild Wars 2'd up it will probably be unrecognizable.

If they do it?

Retro, they are not republic serial devs. Do you seriously think they'd explain their master-stroke if there remained the slightest chance of the playerbase affecting its outcome?

They did it three days ago.

They did it three days ago.

You're not wrong. The Silverwastes represents the latest iteration of the lessons gleaned from the the Scarlet Invasions, Marionette, etc.

Farmers (if you can call them that) are limited to Bandit Chests, which everyone can access when revealed. In order to acquire more shovels and keys, even the farmers at some point have to contribute to the overall objective (and if they're smart farmers, they'll try for the Breach where the payoff for Mordrem organs is much higher). Farming isn't gone, but it's forced to cooperate with the bigger picture. It's very hard to be selfish in the Silverwastes unless you're just running around hitting resource nodes. The point is that the farmers can't negatively impact people who are playing 'for real'.

Likewise, you have four simultaneous objectives, plus supply escorts, running constantly. The only time anything approaching a zerg forms up is when one of the Legendary mobs spawns.

I don't even think the rewards are too RNG-y this time around either.

I hesitate to say it's perfect, because I think they can and will do better, but this is how MMOs are supposed to work; lots of people coming together to complete a major objective. It's inclusionary rather than exclusionary, quick to learn, fun to master.

Yeah, this and Guild Missions are pretty much "raiding done right."
