Gwent - Open Beta Thread: Not bad, not bad at all

Man, hearing you guys talking about crafting golds ... and I'm just trying to save up to craft an Operator. How many rounds do you win a day?

I agree with what Merchant suggested.

Golems have to go. Vicovaro Novices changed and perhaps tweaks to both Peter and Auckes.

Leave the rest and see where the factions falls with these changes.

Yeah not much more than that although I don't really see what's wrong with Peter. He's Mardroeme on a stick. Is his strength too high because his effect isn't nearly as valued in its bronze form.

If they take away Auckes ability to lock two units they'd better give him a good utility effect. I don't even need 2 locks most of the time. I'd rather use Margarita if I could

Man, hearing you guys talking about crafting golds ... and I'm just trying to save up to craft an Operator. How many rounds do you win a day?

I've only crafted one gold and one silver, and that's after I bought a 60 pack. I'm currently at around 400 scraps. I usually only do 6 rounds a day, with 18 on weekends.

I want a new deck but I'm not sure what.

Calveit NG's doing good for me but I'm getting a bit tired.

I'm eyeing Dragon Fog and Crach Mork.

I went like 5-0 with Dagon fog around MMR 2800 today (then 5-2 because I got two disconnects in a row and wanted to throw my computer out the window).

Gotta fill out that collection bro.

Anyway I'd craft Woodland spirit to play Dagon Fog.

Or Wild Boar for Crach Mork.

I want to build Dagon Fog to see its ins and outs, but I'm 1800 dust short for Woodland Spirit, Ge'els, and Twisted Mirror. I can probably sub Fiend for Mirror and sub RNR for Ge'els since it seems like everyone is cutting back on Clear Skies.

Man, hearing you guys talking about crafting golds ... and I'm just trying to save up to craft an Operator. How many rounds do you win a day?

Just doing the 6 rounds of the daily. Back when I played 18 rounds during the closed beta I was accumulating 150-200 scraps a day between milestones and kegs. My collection was pretty filled out so kegs were just 30+ scraps in most cases.

Finally got to pick my first legendary.

Yennefer (6 stat one), ge'els or vilgefortz? No idea which of these is good.

Just had a bug in a game where I couldn't select any cards when reviving with Vicovaro Medic or using Calveit. Had to wait for time to run out and it just autoselected.

Was against a meta Calveit deck which had the typical Golems, Tibor, Ciri, Roach which I have none of but still managed to win with my scrappy deck of cards I put together from what I've gotten from kegs in the week I've been playing. Had 2 cards spare too.

haven't read this thread too much, but am I alone in thinking that the Tibor eggebracht is a busted card? Just saw it for the first time and the dude gets a 25 gold card and all i get is to draw a random revealed bronze card? seems like BS.

Been having a blast with the game otherwise.

Wow I'm now at 1150 ranked points at rank 10, 600 away from rank 11....

Fuck this games shit ass meta.
JUST FUCK ME IN THE ASS EVERYONE..., SPAM YOUR SPELL SHIT AND BROKEN ASS CARDS

You're not alone. I don't think it's busted, just a little too strong. But it's very hard for a new player to deal with because their cards just aren't as good.

Why are you losing to spell decks? They suck :V

Because of my freaking draws lately, I carry 3x first lights. Gremist, decoy, and sigfrida.

I just haven't been drawing the shit I need which makes me think this is worse than fucking HS with this meta.

Everyone has drought and ragh nah roogh now. So you suffer if you don't draw an answer. I went from 12 games over .500 to under .500 cause of this stupid shit ass meta.

Ben Brode is probably laughing his ass off cause of this brain dead fucking game play. I would rather play HS shit meta over this shit where I at least feel like I have a slight chance.

edit: Oh and I'm sorry that some factions are fucking garbage less than a month into open beta.

Play monsters or nilf then. I know that's probably not what you want to hear but if you want to be highly ranked, you don't "main" a faction. You shouldn't be carrying 3 first lights ever. Skellige is trash against weather but if you really want to make it work then carry armorsmiths instead so you can heal units instead of clearing the weather, also row stacking if you expect gold weather that often.

Edit: Also, before you start, except for NR (which even has its moments), none of the factions are bad. Some are just trash at certain MMRs. Skellige is really strong up around 2400 but shit down where you are. Thinking you will climb with a meta deck on gwentdb all the way to the top is silly. Things change as you get higher, it's why those "OMG, number 1!!!!!!! Deck in the world!!!!!" lists sometimes play like shit at lower levels. The people at the top of the list are playing a completely different meta than you are.

If you want to play SK to grind you should play Crach-Mork instead of QG.

The community was up in arms over QG week 1 but since then it's fallen to the wayside as a tier 2 maybe tier 3 deck.

600 points now away from rank 11..... fucking fun times.

oh it doesn't help that when I do win that my opponent lags out and forces me to lose rank points.

Is this an actual thing?

What are the sites that people netdeck from?

Got two disconnects today, but went up 60 mmr each time. Got me close enough to rank 8 to secure it. I really need a new deck, just been using dwarfs. I got Hjalmer from a keg so I am thinking Skellige.

Yeah, 1500 rank points to 1750 down to 1,100 rank points.

I'm done with this done this shit ass experience, guess I should have watched more top players to play the same shit they do.

yes, on the games I've come close to winning the opponent just loses sync and forces you to lose to rank points. It's not often but it happens on occasion.

Strange.. for me it only happened like 2 times where my opponent had an "issue with the client" and disconnected. In both cases they gave me the win, even though I was losing.

Well fuck this game and it's OP factions, I'm down to 1100 ranked points due to nilfgaard and it's OP shit.

Whatever, guess I'll just give up since I invested in the wrong archetype.

This games balance is fucking dogshit and discourages new players.

ah ok that makes sense, I imagine there's something to counter it, but being lvl 4 I haven't seen anything yet. Just seems for a free 25pts it should have to give more than than 1 random bronze draw, let me draw two for that and it could be more fair.

Quick question: does Roach show up when you play a gold card despite it (Roach) being in the graveyard?

Used to. Not anymore. The trade-off being that it was 3 strength then but its a 5 now.

Shackles and Scorch should deal with him. Alternatively you can do something like Shackles + Bekkers Twisted Mirror if you run small units. The thing with Tibor is, if you have valuable bronze cards and good synergy you can improve the combo potential of your hand or board and beat him. I wouldn't be averse to him being 22 but he used to be like that but buffed his base strength. At least now you can dimeritium bomb him or demote him and use a reset (Mardroeme/Peter/Margarita).

Apparently changes went live on the CN PTR

Via reddit:

CN PTR server just went online minutes ago and I assume when it's on PTR server it's public. Just delete this post if I'm wrong.
Please note it's just one PTR version(0.9.6 PTR, 0.9.6G.29D), maybe far from what they're gonna announce and release soon.
Here's a quite detailed list from a Chinese website(Not in English ):http://www.iyingdi.com/web/article/seed14/40373?title=国服山岳试炼开服丨挖掘新版本
Here're some changes (about 40-50 cards changed in this version, keep updating, images later, generally nerfs first cause I'm not very familiar with most buffed cards :p, but please don't jump into conclusions before seeing the whole picture):
Tibor: from 10 strength to 8;
Ithlinne: 4 strength, make One copy bronze special and play it (once)
Golem: 2 strength
Novice: 1 strength now
Water Hag, Gremist, Vanhemar, Dethmold: 4 strength from 3
Nekker: back to 3;
Woodland spirit: 5 to 7
Kayran: 10 to 8
Peter: 6 to 4
NR: A lot of buffs :-)
Dol Protector: 4 to 2
Donar an Hindar: 5 to 6 + veteran

So lots of changes.

Like the changes, my new monsters deck gets buffed and everyone else gets nerfed.

lol I had a game where I was up against a Calveit deck. I revealed that I had Tibor because I like to do shit like that sometimes and saw that he had a shackles. So I put Tibor down and he starts saying, "Thanks" over and over and throws a cow next to Tibor. Next turn I put a spotter next to Tibor then he goes for the shackles.

The turn where the cow is supposed to go off I eat all 3 with Letho lol

RIP Savage Bears tho, lol.

Don't like that frost change. We need more punishment for row stacking, not less.

Aard, Igni, Lacerate, Coral, etc., already punish row stacking, so it's okay. Frost was usually a better option from the 3 weather cards, so now it makes it less lucrative. It probably still is better than the other 2, but less so.

Got my first legendary pick today after about 30 kegs. Ciri, Geralt: Igni or Ragh Nar Roog. Of course went RNR and started getting my first forfeits and even a couple of hate messages!

Presumably most people kick out Geralt once they start getting better golds? Trying to decide between him and Cahir as the fourth choice. Pure strength or more strategy?

Keep Cahir as your fourth spot, he is still very good.

It'll be interesting to see how they will compensate for the nerfs.

I have RNR (foil), Drought and Tibor <,<

Geralt igni will always be a staple. He is a meta card, right now he's on a down swing but all it takes is a new interesting deck for him to suddenly be auto include to counter.

Also, "all changed cards will have full disenchant value for two weeks!"

Time to mill useless cards.
Wow, so even buffed cards have full disenchant value? Good stuff.
