.hack//G.U. Last Recode (HD remaster, PS4 and PC) coming out

I loved how the keywords were unlocked for grinding in the GU trilogy. Being max level from the outset of each installment and steamrolling the entire game was somewhat satisfying.

Hopefully it does well enough to get the quad remastered, but imagine grinding for data cores now😐

Wonder how much I can get for my ps2 g.u. collection

Too bad the impact of meeting Tri-Edge for the first time will be totally lost on new players.

I wanted the original quadrilogy. :(

I'm totally getting this! Day 1!

Really hope that the news does turn out to be true regarding the new game. You can't let all those amazing looking areas in the series go to waste!

When would we even see the supposed new entry that was teased as well?

To think I'd see the days a new .hack game would be released, you bet your ass i'm getting this if it means more .hack games~

I buyed and LOVED the first 2 games.... but then I found out that purchasing every chapter at full price to have all the story, with almost the same gameplay+location+chars was not doable...

But I really liked the hack universe... maybe I will get this one... :P

Data core grinding is one of the worst things in any game ever released. It got so bad with the later games...

Best investment ever for me. They released for 40€ per game. I bought them all back then and sold them later for more than triple than that.

I'm happy for Hack's fans..... but where is Xenosaga Trilogy Remaster we have been crying out loud for?

Seriously we would have even be ok with a PS2 classic release....

Awesome! I'm going to buy 5 copies of this, and send 4 of them to my friends. Gotta inflate those sale numbers as much as possible lol.

The trilogy was and is still pretty good (i replayed it on pcsx2 a couple years ago)... But the last game especially starts to move towards grinding to expand out the game.

Really hoping they chop out the grind, push some of the better "end of disc" filler into real content, and then we'll be set for a great experience.

G.U. was certainly more fun to play than the original four games, but between the last game giving you nonsense powers and then releasing a movie that contradicts events in the game, here's hoping they can help it make some more sense.

I'm actually super nostalgic for these games. Sitting on my PS2 collection, yet I would not mind replaying them with that HD touchup.

At this point, CC2 has bigger fish to fry, but the G.U. universe was my obsession back in the day. Which makes me really scared to go back to them with 10 more years worth of games being played inbetween.

I'm surprised they're not doing the first quadrology - I really liked it more than the sequel, but I'll still pick this up.

The first quadrology is a god awful mess. It'd need a lot more love and attention including a complete rebalancing to remove all the grind and preferably having the combat completely reworked so it's less mashing a single button.

As a hardcore fan of most of the original anime (even //legend) i had a super hard time getting through the third, let alone fourth discs.

Yea, it got to the point I just pre grinded everything I needed for a game so I didn't have to worry about it. Then you had to manage your virus meter from using data drain-_-

I never really got into the .hack series, but hoping if Bamco is going to do this for this series, maybe we'll get a Xenosaga remaster.

I know not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but can we please get Xenosaga now? Maybe even the original 4 .Hack games? Loved the story even if the gameplay wasn't the best. But, like I really need Xenosaga after this announcement. You can't play with my emotions like this Bamco, plz I can't take it.

Tbh I don't really remember grinding too much for cores in my playthroughs. Maybe I was just really lucky.

Virus meter wasn't too much of an issue except in the bonus dungeon where almost everything was a data bug iirc.

I wonder if they're gonna fix a few things from GU like doppelganger cheesing with Sleipnir

Sweet, my sisters will be stoked too. I still would really like to see one of these for the original series too, but that would likely be a much bigger task than it is is to do G.U.

So happy to see this! Glad to know.hack isn't dead 😄

Never finished the GU series, I remember playing the first one on a 1080p screen and it really made the game hard to play.

Glad to see I can get back into it.

please, please let me be able to switch language voices. Yuri Lowenthal is fine, but I don't always agree with the characters he voices.

oooooh myyyyy goooooood

This is a remaster I never expected =O
I never really played beyond Part 1 of G.U., as I sort of burned out going 70+ hours in four days of the first game.

Also I always say, there are more production values in the opening cinematic of G.U., than there is in all of IMOQ, lol (I really enjoyed those games for the most part).

i hope this means they working in a new game

YEah yeah yeah yeah yeah!

Now bring back IMOQ and we are gold! Those PS2 originals are so fucking expensive.

This came outta nowhere. Interesting to see it getting a bit of a revival here.

I played the original series but only got to game 3 before I gave up from it being so stale. Never really looked at G.U., but I did like the music from it.

You didn't play .hack for .hack. You played .hack for Mia.

I completely disagree ... I eagerly devoured them as they were released and had a great time. In any case, if you read all the changes to this, it's like the directors said - they're pretty much remaking everything anyway.
