Why hasn't the Master Chief been promoted?

He was born in 2511, Halo 3 setting is during 2552 and 2553, Halo 4 is 4 years later.

I believe that "Master Chief" is the highest Naval rank an enlisted solider can attain without being a formal officer. Chief technically can't be promoted due to never attending OCS.

If it's like Reach, you will not be limited at all.

i thoroughly recommend all new players change the control scheme to the one on the extreme right where LT is zoom and click right stick is melee. its like borderlands/cod etc. much better.

theres been one in my 4hrs of playing. it was one button press only so not sure that even qualifies. more of a tutorial thing.

I thought Slayer Pro was a 4v4, but I've been watching some videos and noticed as much as 10 people per team.

EDIT: I meant 6 per team....Don't ask.

I wonder what control scheme I should go with...I have the Razer Onza controller with the two extra bumpers so I use bumper jumper in Reach (armor ability on second bumper)...but now that there's sprint AND armor ability I'm not sure if I should stick with bumper jumper. My theory is bumper should be reserved for things I want to do WHILE aiming, I guess I'll just have to play and see what actions are most useful with my play style.

Most definitely do NOT want sprint on click stick, that's just awful.

About the same. Legendary, on the other hand, is ridiculous this time around. It seems like they gave every grunt a fuel-rod cannon.

Fairly similar, having done all of them except maybe Halo 2 on Heroic. A couple of sticking points and dodgy checkpoints screwing me, but nothing too bad. The Prometheans are pretty challenging until you start to suss them out.

Also, I can only assume that the timer on the campaign doesn't count retries, because it reckons it took me 4 hours 41 minutes and I know I played it for longer than that.

Go for it. Heroic is a good challenge and if you've played a lot of Halo it'll stop you breezing through it.
