Because they have played Halo and he was comparing it to Call of Duty rather than rating it based on its own merits.
Also I have played it and it doesn't mean I am any more right than the other people complaining about the review.

He clearly can't review for shit, another case of a reviewer putting their personal likes before actually rating the game on its worth.
And I don't care what anyone says, the game clearly isn't a 2/10 game.
Actually, many have played the game or already have it and are doing so. Even that doesn't change the fact the main issues people have with the review is how he wants to completely change the Halo formula to make it more inline with Call of Duty if for no other reason than CoD iis the popular FPS right now.

Or maybe he is pointing out how outdated he feels HALO 4 is. Lets face it, COD mops the floor with HALO in sales and XBox live/PSN playtime. There's a reason for that.
For him it's a 1/5 game -- and, yes, there is a difference. His scale is his own.

He was still making direct comparisons to CoD which is awful for a review, when you review a game you review it on its own merits and NEVER compare it to another game.

On Xbox only, Halo 4 will be the most played on live for 1 week. When COD comes out the next week it will take over on XBOX sales and LIVE play.

So? COD is more popular, I didn't dispute that, I said Halo competes well against COD. It's the highest selling exclusive franchise on 360 and doesn't have half the casual appeal COD does.
But like others have said, COD does not sell well because it's progressive and Halo isn't, lord ...

LOL so now HALO is Shakespeare. It takes a refine individual to like HALO more than COD. Its entertainment, more people are entertained by COD than Halo. That is a fact. COD(Transformers) is not fart jokes in comparison to Halo(Citizen Kane).

Not saying that Halo is the best game of our time, just saying that the quality, themes, and target audience of Transformers and Call of Duty are practically identical.

That may well be, but he also gave Reach a 6.5 in his review for Gameshark, and listed it as one of the most overrated games of 2010. So that's something to keep in mind. (I'm not going to read his review because I don't want spoilers, maybe I will after play the game.)

Something of note from that link: Spartan Ops missions are most definitely not all reused. Two of the five reuse level geometry, one reuses a group of buildings in a totally different environmental context, and the other two missions are completely unique.
Apart from the whole spoilers thing, there are a few factual errors in Chick's review, but other than that? Nothing wrong with the guy not liking the game or the series as a whole, even if his knowledge of the series isn't really up to par.

Fortunately Redbox carries BLOPS2. No need to buy it. I'll just use one of Wario's numerous free game rental codes and burn through the single player campaign in a night. They're fun in a cheesy way.

Posts like these are annoying as hell. You just typed a few paragraphs telling everyone to shut the hell up about Halo 4 reviews in the Halo 4 review discussion thread. Thanks for the meaningful and well thought out contribution.
As for the Tom Chick review - the spoilers in it are inexcusable. Totally a dick move.
Personally I am just glad we stopped talking about that review and moved on to a different one.
