Breakout is a fun gametype on its own but you do not want to include a gametype which changes the fundamental rules of the game (in regards to shields/ttk) on your pro circuit.

I'd normally agree, but for real, armor lock was absolutely disgusting.
I ping 90 ms(should be 30-40, but I'm on WiFi) to Netherlands, 150 ms to New York and 210 ms to Seattle. Maybe they've improved their netcode and client-side prediction, but I don't have as many problems as I had in MCC and first week of Halo 5 beta or at least I don't notice them as much.

It's usually with a bonus. I've been hoarding the arena RP boosts and only using them for BTB. I had about 15 of them. I'm down to about 3 more now though

I've always been one of the few that loved sprint, hologram and honestly jetpack wasn't the awful it just needed to be toned down to double jump. But I had a conversation last night about armor lock. Preupdate who the hell thought it should be able to throw off a stuck plasma grenade?
I did rocket an enemy player whose armor lock rocketed back towards me only to kill his own teammate who was invis behind me. So that was funny, one time.

Breakout being played competitively to me is like Infection, Grifball or even Invasion being played competitively. Which isn't to say that they aren't or that they shouldn't be, but that they should have their own tournaments because they're all vast departures from typical Halo with different priorities and playstyles (and coincidentally, all of those are round-based).
I've been saying from the start that challenges skulls be a thing like from Reach. It's such a perfect fit for the REQ system.
Fingers crossed it comes soon, carrots on sticks get me more hooked on things :3
Infection is a very competitive gametype, no idea what you're talking about. Can't believe 343 didn't put into the championship.

I don't think it's a good fit for HCS either.

My guess is behind the scenes stuff today then update tomorrow. Weird server errors the day before an update has been a pattern

Edit: I just went down a rabbit hole. Man, competitive Halo 3 around the time of Str8 Rippin, Triggers Down, Instinct and Carbon was unreal.

But I think it only has fairly basic stuff on there. So the link thorn posted is probs best.
Also if you have time, to kind of get more invested in the players and thus the team, try and check out some of their streams, on a normal day or when they organise scrims against other teams for practice. It's a good way to see the personalities and people in a team. Makes then watching a HCS match all the more exciting. That's what got me into the competitive stuff now; needing a fix for H5 on Twitch and getting to know them as I watched.

I just got booted out of a warzone match.
Like that almost every day for me in a few matches.
I usually get really angry because someone can keep getting perfect shot.
Watching pro players on Twitch is certainly what got me more interested in the pro scene and now I'm reading up on all the roster changes and drama like my life depends on it lmao.

For a more recent rabbit hole, try and follow the hurricane that followed Lethul leaving EG. It was one hell of a scramble for all the teams in the last few days leading up to roster lock :3

Turn off maintain sprint and toggle crouch if you haven't already.
Start sprinting, thrust when at max speed and hold crouch mid thrust. There you go, you can now super slide.
Combine with a jump at the end to carry your momentum or thrust off of the edge of a lip of a ramp to ramp boost which is fucking awesome.
So right, first turn auto sprint off. That's when you slide or boost, it doesn't carrying you on sprinting. To perform it, just as your reaching the cusp of a ramp, use your boost then immediately press your slide button, and it should give you this huge momentum going down.

I'm still slowly getting used to it, I hope they don't take it out either. When people can pull of crazy stuff like the clips I saw on Plaza, I want it to stay in the hopes I can pull it off too.
Does anyone know and have the Plaza clips I'm on about? Not just on the big ramp.
I had to sign up over there this week after all the crazyness.
