lol yeah I'm sure forum posts by maybe a dozen people are going to make a developer owned by a publicly traded company spend resources implementing features and functionality changes that only matter to a few hundred people instead of uh, doing something that makes sense within the context of their business, like spending those resources on marketing or player retention features for whatever their largest demographic is

i have a gaming rig i built last year but havent played any games on it. Been working through my console back log before even wanting to venture back on to Steam, games bought this year = 1, games beaten = 22
I put it together, hooked it up to my tv, and ran crysis on high settings, not sure how much help i could be in advising of anything with Deus EX HR though

Yeah, some people are bummed out because it would skew W/L ratios, but assuming you even care about that, that Kevin guy said you won't get dropped into a nearly completed game. If they could tweak the window to be within the first half that'd be perfect.

Everyone has their dislikes about Halo 4, but there's no need to have a meltdown.

Be critical about changes, that's fine but don't come on here and try to degrade the work 343 has done. How would like if I was in your place of employment talking mad shit about how terrible this change is and how no one likes it?
The protective veil of the internet wins here again because when you go after the developers what do you face? A ban? A person like me trying to be moral and respect the developers? This is these people's jobs. They don't just do this for our entertainment, this is how they support themselves. If there's an aspect about the game you don't like, put a logical argument for why it's a bad idea but don't attack 343 saying they are some incompetent group.
All I'm trying to say is be civil. Be critical but not degrading. It makes debates and conversations much more enjoyable on here because people aren't attacking each others ideas.

I haven't gone for the flag in bigger maps since Halo CE. If I can't drive myself that shit ain't gettin' done with the randoms I get matched up with.
There's also no need for you to rush in and defend the game at every negative comment thrown against it.
Honestly if it's a smallish map I'll only pick it up for flag kills (in addition to running it) when the mood strikes me.
Maps like Hemorrhage I won't even bother.
This is what I mean.
These changes appear like they're only going to affect a very small portion of players.
I did; I usually play with a large group of friends though, I generally don't touch objective gametypes in any game if I'm playing with randoms. Again though my problem with CTF isn't the no dropping thing so much as it is that the entire enemy team instantly knows where I am until I either am dead or we cap the flag. Sneaking into an enemy base undetected and making a stealthy getaway are the best moments I've had in Halo, and I can remember several of them specifically. This completely and utterly destroys any strategy or deception.
I absolutely fucking guarantee that once people realize that when they touch the flag they are immediately marked for death and cannot drop it no one is ever going to go for it.

You make it seem like people are getting on the people who like the game and have no problems. Most of us are just defending our points on why we are disappointed with certain aspects of the game. Then you have people being upset that we are disappointed and that we should just gt over it and move on.
If we don't complain how will 343 know there is an issue. My only major two gripes is ranking and auto pickup of the flag. I can deal with everything else.
All I know is that name changes still haven't been implemented in Starcraft 2 after two years and it's never getting LAN and the Bnet 2.0 interface is never being changed despite being awful

Then you obviously haven't read a quarter of my posts in this thread. I've complained, I hate that there's no ranking system. But when you start losing sight of everything and start whining, it brings this thread down and people HAVE to start defending it like I am.
Edit: We should realize that developers are reading this too. It doesn't mean you have to suck up, it means that you have to maintain yourself instead of wanting MORE MORE MORE, because at a certain point, they'll stop caring about you if thats your mentality.

Check out the CAG thread I linked above, it seems to come in and out of stock at some places, and that thread keeps good track of it. It seems to be instock right now at Walmart.com.
It seems they have shifted the focus to more of an escort mission instead of being stealthy & deceptive. I'm personally OK with this, the option should still be there though for customs.

Depends on my team. Then sometimes you got to do what you got to do. the biggest issue it the auto pickup. Sometimes weapons are near the flag. Also if I get into a battle with someone I would hate to pickup the flag in a firefight.

I just still don't agree with that though. It was always also an escort mission. And an escort mission in Halo 4 isn't generally going to get very far if once you pick up the flag everyone at the base knows exactly where you are. That only works if your entire team is working with and assisting you, but that was already the case. It's baffling. Also their logic for the change in the ViDoc is hilarious.
You say that like it's a joke but literally the only way to get any simple features or functionality changes (that have been requested for years spanning multiple games) implemented in the Halo series would be to show someone at Microsoft that they would impact their quarterly earnings positively - and they wouldn't.
It'll definitely take some getting used to. I mean, most of the flag games I play end up being exactly that: escort missions where you stave off people who are gunning for the carrier and saw where he was going. The difference is that now it can only be that, and that kinda bums me out. The rare "I'm able to sneak the flag out and get a perfect stealth cap" situation is dust.
