Halo |OT14| They call it Halo

Palmer is hawt.

But she's a terrible character. Which is a shame, because she had potential. The damage 343 has done to Halo multiplayer pales in comparison to what they've done to the story, IMO. Every writer at the damn studio needs to be fired months ago.

Also, Fuck Karen Traviss.

I agree. But Emile has made a place in my heart. I wish we could have seen his face.

Yup. But I wish he would have picked up something better than a shotty for the pillar of autumn level. He was trying to snipe elites and enemies from so far and drawing their fire on heroic and legendary. Was next to near useless that level. And still he would have made a better leader than Sarah Palmer.

I thought Jorge and Carter were my faves. Only because of Marty's great music pieces during their final scenes.

Edit: Infinity Mario Kart. Imagine a Mario kart where skill is removed, they handicap the better players, where items and power ups are given at random... Oh wait.

Buzz Lightyear ruined Halo once he got to Infinity..
and beyond.

BR Guests is fucking brilliant.

I might record that.

What do you think this is, GLEE?!

This might be considered dumb, but I definitely think there's potential here for a charity album.

Hmmmm... not a bad idea, really. Busy at the moment, but I'll add it to my list of possible projects.

I suppose I can't call myself a true parody-song writer until I've done the Modern Major-General's Song...

Tor and 343 Industries to offer bonus material in the latest book in the Halo Forerunner Saga

New York, NY – February 11, 2013 – Tor Books, an imprint of Tom Doherty Associates, LLC – the largest publisher of science fiction in the world – and 343 Industries are excited to announce a new initiative to coincide with the release of Halo: Silentium by acclaimed science fiction author Greg Bear.

Leading up to the release of Halo: Silentium (March 19, 2013), Tor and 343 Industries will be sending out encrypted communications via halowaypoint.com bulletins and forums, which will allow Halo fans to unlock additional content. There will also be embedded data in the text of the Halo: Silentium paperback and e-book editions.

These communications will begin now, and continue on halowaypoint.com leading up to the March 19th release of Halo: Silentium.

Tor Books has proudly partnered with Microsoft and 343 Industries to publish every book set in this iconic universe. The Halo franchise is an award-winning collection of properties that have grown into a global entertainment phenomenon. Beginning with the original Halo: Combat Evolved for Xbox in 2001, the rich fiction of the franchise has since inspired a series of blockbuster Xbox and Xbox 360 video games, New York Times best-selling novels, comic books, action figures, apparel and more. To date, the Halo franchise has sold more than 50 million copies to date, with sales eclipsing $3 billion over its lifetime. Halo 4 marks the beginning of a new saga in the iconic universe, as Master Chief returns to confront his own destiny and an ancient evil that threatens the fate of the entire universe. Developed by 343 Industries exclusively for Xbox 360, Halo 4 released on Nov. 6, 2012, earning high marks from industry insiders and fans alike.

Personally I like that way of unlocking content. Wish you can unlock a new terminal with it.

Edit.: Beaten by blamite.

So is the content going to be available to everyone? or is it going to be another "completionists are fucked if they dont buy X product" thing again?
There will be content leading up to the book release which will be available to everyone. Then the paperback and e-book editions will have "embedded data in the text". No clue what it means or what it will "unlock".

A new terminal would be cool. Something, that would give us a hint, what we can expect from Halo 5, story wise.

^Agreed. Doing it through your own franchise products is definitely more welcomed IMO.

Shit I usually do for larger pics.. my busttt

Forgetten and forgiven. It was just really huge. :p

I really don't think they should be removing the exclusivity on LE content like that. Completely devalues any future LE content they try to sell.

What about removing the exclusivity of Pre-order stuff? I mean its been 4 months, i think that window of exclusivity should be over... (im a completionist and think everyone should be able to unlock everything without having to spend so many odd Thousands of Dollars/Pounds/Euros)

The embedded data in the text of the Halo: Silentium paperback has already been leaked:

Code:
B-E-S-U-
R-E-T-O-
D-R-I-N-
K-Y-O-U-
R-M-O-U-

I have no qualms about this, anything that can devalue retailer exclusive pre-order gubbins is fine by me. Anything that was exclusive to a LE (console, game, pad or whatever) should stay exclusive though.

I don't want to buy a paper back version, because it won't go with my hardcover Halo Greg Bear collection. So I'm shafted out of some unlock(admittedly for a game that I don't enjoy that much). I also don't want to buy the book because of the B-rated movie cover, but that's another argument altogether. Gotdamn 343, you makin some stupidass decisions.
