Nah not joking. The system is aesthically unpleasing to look at, the user interface is confusing as hell, I have had nothing but bad luck with the party chat and invites, install times are ridiculous, double A batteries in 2014???

I know this is all personal opinion and your Driveclub comment is true too and there's no excuse for that, but I am not impressed with this console so far. Shit even the mic is going out on me and I haven't had the thing for more than 24 hours.

I do however love the SHIT out of Halo and Gears. Only reason I shelled out 350 for one game. And I'm gonna stick it through till they bring back the trilogy to its rightful spot. But man, bad first impressions.

The fact that I can resume playing a game exactly where I left off when turning the console back on is amazing. Mind you, I bought a PS4 first too, and I love my PS4, but some of the stuff the Xbone does is amazing. I've had some problems with multiplayer on the Master Chief Collection so far, but I'm confident those will be worked out soon.

People are prone to strong reactions when something they've been looking forward to doesn't work out perfectly. Trust me, I understand this, I was pissed when Diablo III launched less than perfectly in 2012, but know that it will get better, probably quickly. Reacting with intense vitriol will only make you look bad.

Sucks for you multiplayer guys. My plan had been to roll through the campaigns before jumping online. Guess it was the right plan? Been loving H2A so far.
Those cutscenes are amazing. Blur can do no wrong... Except disappoint me when the games they make trailers for don't live up to the hype they built like with Far Cry 3 and BioShock Infinite.

Who paid you to grab Dr. Pavel?
Team Halo 2 Anniv., Halo 2 Classic, and Team Slayer definitely seemed improved to me. Got games in about 2 minutes.

Now...about the uneven teams and half-empty games...

Why makes you love Sony so much? not playing driveclub for a month?

Huh? Lol.

Meanwhile the other console that forces you to use an internal battery lasts around 5.5 hours on a charge.

I'll take Double AAs and choice over a forced internal battery any day.

That's fine. I'd rather have a rechargeable cord. I usually don't play longer than 5 hours a session and I leave my controller charging at a desk when I'm out of the house.

I'd rather dead this right now before it turns into a fanboy war. Was just saying I'm not impressed. That's all.

Wii U pro controller is the best of both worlds.

I have played one game in 24 hours.

On a side note. How do I accept game invites without yelling Xbox launch. I tried holding down the middle button but all that does is direct me to a screen that asks me if I want to turn the controller off.

you can hit the Xbox button once to go back to main menu and then on top left corner it there's the universal notification, click on that and you should see the game invite.

Never mind.

I have a different issue altogether. Too many Chiefs!

Match went perfectly and was alotta fun

Man I don't have a X1... Being a Halo fan (and liking Halo 3 the best in general) of course I was really hyped about the MCC

But this picture... THIS picture... I got smacked by excitement right now... Also, I just thought of something. I was always pretty depressed that I couldn't experience the DLC maps back in the day, but now they're all included in this game! OMG. too bad I can't play :(

EDIT:Wait I don't get it. Why are Halo 2 maps mixed with Halo 3 maps?

The whole console is acting up with MCC right now. I mean, everything is acting up. It's definitely not normal.

It's not about starting a fanboy war, it's about the idea that AAs are some kind of embarrassing tech is just dumb. AAs and removable battery packs should always be considered a better option over a forced internal battery.

I know I miss being able to replace the battery in my phone.

Also, you can have a rechargeable cord or a charge station with the Xbox One controller.

Is there a game type that's getting better results than the others? I just wanted to try it out for a few matches but all I'm getting is the dreaded searching.

Managed to get about ~8 games in. Matchmaking seems improved from yesterday. However, my rank has reset from 4 a few times (not a big deal - just maybe another issue to add to the list). Game is a blast when you finally get a match. :/

The thing is I don't wanna be buying AA batteries every couple days is the problem. The cord to me is convenient recharging anytime I want.

I'm definitely not seeing the improvements some of you are talking about. I've been sitting on matchmaking most of the night and played just 3 matches, which were completely ruined by lag.

Oh well.. I'm going to bed. Let's see if day 3 brings some good news.

Although MCC is an exceptional case for Halo; I've never seen a launch like this.

It's evidently clear that this was an over ambitious project for a November 11th release. I doubt 343i will repeat such a thing with Halo 5.

Perhaps Microsoft was the over-ambitious one and not really 343...FH2, Sunset Overdrive and Halo:MCC all within a month. Pretty strong line-up before the holidays..couple with a price drop. It's all or nothing at this point.

Dude I just posted three different alternatives.

The Xbox One AA battery pack with charges with a cord:

The Nyko Xbox One Charge Station:(You just have to set it on the station)

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FLLFJE0/?tag=neogaf0e-20

Sanyo Eneloops:(best rechargeable AAs you can buy with a charging dock)

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JHKSMJU/?tag=neogaf0e-20

No one buys new AAs to keep their controller going.

I can't fucking believe this is having issues 24 hours later. I'm waiting on the campaign so I can play through with the girlfriend. I get eased with a few fun games and then suddenly can't find a thing. Microsoft is really disappointing here. Online stability was their main advantage over soony.

Finally get into a game, party of 3 on vs me and another silent bot. Fuck this. Three games in five hours. I'm going to bed disappointed for the second night in a row.

You fucked up 343. I'm not the first and I won't be the last but I'll say it anyways, you fucked up. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

edit: One last thing before I go to bed: why won't Bumper Jumper work in Halo 2? What possible excuse can there be? This game is FAR from finished. I would have rather waited another two months than the shit show we have now.

Yes. Also MCC beta access.

Man, the Xbone takes forever to install games. I put this game in 2 hours ago and it's not even halfway done yet. It's fucking ridiculous.

Then grab some rechargeable batteries. Problem solved. They will still last close to a week if you are playing less the 4 hours a day.

I'm in the BTB playlist. All 4 titles can show up as voting options, we vote on which game/map/gametype we want to BTB.

Halo 4 too? So you'll have to set loadouts and have ordinances with Halo 4, but not if you get a map that's not Halo 4?.... That's kind of weird lol

I'm aware they have charge and plays. I had a 360 lol. The difference is that the PS4 just comes with a cord. I didn't have to spend 25 bucks extra. It is an inconvenience. I didnt like it back then, and I don't like it now. But obviously I have no choice, and I'm gonna be picking a kit up on Black Friday. Lmao.

Soooo...shit's not good then?

I don't even really care about the online aspect, since I've only ever played Halo 1 to completion, but if it's all jank I still have my copy sealed and can and will return it and wait to buy again when/if the problems get fixed.

It includes the patch download in the install counter when using a disc. If you disconnect for the internet it will do a complete disc install only and it will be faster. Then connect to do just the patch. It will take a similar ammount of time bUT you can start playing the pre patch content.

Got this game finally at 7:00 PM PST. It's now 10:31 PM PST, and I still haven't been able to play it because of the 20GB update. Not happy.

I'm thinking at this point I'm never going to be a day one adopter for any game ever again. This feels like the 50th time I'm getting burned when all I want to do is fucking play video games.

it's great when it works

issues are really online stuff only with the exception of some very random crashes which seems to be mainly with halo 4 and some things scattered about... like halo cea terminals messing up the game

The matchmaking is really bad. Campaigns are fine, aside from a few frame rate problems I guess. I did hear split screen is having problems.

I'm not unlocking any achievements either. In the achievements app I have 7 that say "Done! Unlocking..." but haven't actually gotten any of them.

So I've been playing Halo 1 campaign with my fiancee, and we got disconnected during the final cut scene of "The Truth and Reconciliation" chapter. So now that chapter is listed as incomplete.

Does anyone wanna play this level on Heroic Difficulty with me tonight? I want to replay it co-op so I get the credit for completion. My fiancee has no interest in replaying that level again.. haha.

Let me know! I won't be playing any other chapters unless they are in the first 5 chapters (can't move on without her).

My gamertag is Jeramii

They will randomly all pop up at once. I had 5 or 6 that all just randomly popped up one after another.

Digital unlocked late too. It took an extra 2 minutes to start playing while it updated my license.

This could not be any more embarrassing for MS. It will be interesting to see how they react to this travesty of a launch. This was released so we would all buy Halo 5. Now it's wait and see for me.

You would have had to download that update on day 90 as much as you would on day 1 of launch.......

Not a fan of the whole AA batteries on the XBO controllers either, how is this still a thing in 2014-2015. Serious nickel and diming, IMO.

Just got to installing my game, and now I wait. I guess should make s'mores and sing songs while I wait for the install to finish haha. Worth it though.
