Halo The Master Chief Collection |OT| Halo Never Died, It Was Just Missing In Action

I'm pretty sure you have to do the "Master Chief Saga Playlist" to see the prologue and epilogue videos for the game and to get an achievement for beating the Master Chief Playlist. I was just wondering if you only beat that playlist, do you also get the individual achievements for beating the individual campaigns?

My physical copy of MMC was fully installed after an hour last night.

Aw, man that sucks. I am finally about to get off of the Truth and Reconciliation. I fought tooth and nail on Legendary and really don't want to have to start over. Wish I knew that. :(

I didn't see the Master Chief Saga Playlist, or at least not where I can play it on Legendary.

I find this decision to be absolutely silly. So, now I need to restart the game and instead of choosing the Halo 1 Legendary playlist, I have to do "Master Chief Saga Playlist." And, mind you, I can't just simply play "Campaign" modes for each title.

Like it has been posted here, the UI is a hot mess.

go to cross game playlists...there are 2 master chief sagas....one is on normal which is at the top and the legendary one is at the bottom with 24 skulls on

Um.

Halo 2 seems 'off' to me.

Playing on Heroic. Walk into a room. Die almost instantly. That area with the gun (y'know, the part that moves that's ridiculously awesome?) that has the jetpack elites. I killed the first guys. There's one that comes jetpacking into view as I get onto the moving bits. He fires a couple rounds that hit me. Blam. Dead.

My roomate was watching and thought I was playing on Legendary, but no, I picked Heroic. Game says it's Heroic. Feels like Legendary though. Deaths are almost instant, no time for strafing. The first room with the bugs just isn't fun at all. I don't even get to move around.

This is coming from someone who's beat Reach like 3-4 times on Heroic and loves it to pieces. The original game definitely didn't kill me this quickly; Halo 4 did occasionally.

Is this a bug, or does Halo 2's Heroic difficulty just turn Chief into soggy toilet paper?

what

Not got MCC, but I can confirm that Heroic on Halo 2 OG Xbox version was bloody hard, Legendary was so hard it wasn't even fun a lot of the time. I replayed the OG Xbox version about 8 months ago. So suspect the difficulty is not off - when was the last time you played Halo 2?

I think many people forget just how challenging Halo 1 and 2 actually are compared to later Halo games. I see many people complaining about the challenge. I say welcome back... kinda nice to have fire fights you just can't breeze through.

Oh my god the library can fucking do one. I don't remember it being this annoying in CEA, but it's just unbearably shit... and I'm playing on normal. This following on from the tedium of Assault on the Control room is most unfortunate. [edit] Okay, I'm pretty sure I just skipped 343 Guilty Spark...

The same happened to me just a bit ago. I Saved/Quit the campaign last night immediately after starting 343 Guilty Spark.
Today, when i resumed the campaign, it dropped me right into the Library chapter. So yeah, mine skipped identically to what you experienced. I backed out and manually chose to start 343 Guilty Spark so I didn't miss it.

A while ago. My roommate played it earlier this year.

Is the bandana skull supposed to only give you infinite grenades and UNSC weapon ammo or ammo for all weapons (incl covenant)? B/c it's only UNSC right now. Just curious if that was intentional or a bug.

Yep, so I've been playing through the Master Chief Saga playlist... just walked out of the control room, and it skips the entirety of 343 Guilty Spark and goes right to the Library. Hmm.

Wasn't there a patch that just (Today at 10 PST) launched to fix the matchmaking issues? Has anyone seen better success rates on getting a match going?

Eh, I'm on the last level of Halo 2 on Heroic and have no issues other than being an idiot in certain situations. The game on Heroic is easily at its best because it doesn't feel unfair like Legendary does.

Basically, The Library separates the weak from the strong. It's a pure combat level, one you rush through, killing what you can. It's all about getting to the end, though. People who hate it are generally bad players; people who love it are good ones. It's one of the best levels in the game.

Thanks. So if I understand you correctly the player should rush through and kill what they can, but not everything. So kind of like a speed run?

I am not understanding what makes it a great level. Why is it great? Because it's pure combat?

Any tips for CE LASO? The combination of black eye, recession, and foreign seems to make it nearly impossible. I'm thinking about trying coop and having each player take turns going on suicide missions but solo was defiantly no bueno for me.

Yea, try your best not to get stuck in a combat situation. Kill what's in front of you and keep moving.

Halo 2 is significantly harder than the other Halo games, even on lower difficulties. With that in mind, the AI does seem more aggressive for some reason, but Halo 2 has always had the reputation of being pretty fucking hard.

Play The Library like Geometry Wars. Reverse, strafe, shotgun, throw grenades.

"Next-gen" filter in H2A Forge is pretty funny.

Won't that affect achievements? Again, how was this not discovered in test?

Since it took FIVE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA HOURS to install last night, I only played a bit of Halo 1. I did notice some hitches in the framerate, which happened a lot more than I expected, and even got some odd issues with the AI continuing to run endlessly against a wall or box. I thought those were scripted, but whatever.

It was fun. I tried multiplayer and couldn't get in, so I'll try that again tonight.

Ah, yes, now I remember why I skipped past it. And that's seriously the only way to watch the Prologue and the Epilogue, created specifically for MCC?

Thanks, guys. Halo 2 still seems harder than I remember it being, but you may be right. Other than Halo 4, it's got some of the worst checkpointing in the series.

You're fighting the flood. You literally cannot kill everything; they just keep spawning. If other levels were gladitorial arenas, The Library is like river rafting.

It's great because it requires players to use everything in their understanding of the game's mechanics to succeed, even thrive. It's a test of the player's understanding of Halo's mechanics. Most people who suck at it are players who haven't fully mastered the game's combination of movement, shooting, grenade use, and environmental control.

Really? I wonder if that's why nothing was popping for me last night. I just went to the games, chose Halo CE and picked the first chapter, continuing on from there. So I need to start over choosing that playlist?

playlist? Do you mean "quick game"?

Wow. Halo CEA co op still has input lag for anyone who isn't host. Pretty much unplayable for those affected.

It says I've finished the level as well. I'll go back and play it because I'm actually paying attention to the story for a change, otherwise I wouldn't be at all bothered.

Oh another thing I have noticed with online H2A mp play, i've yet to see a kill cam, i'm just not seeing any in H2A mp.

I can watch a stream and see them for other players.

For me it isn't quite as bad as 360 Anniversary. I had to switch to classic mode to even stand a chance on heroic and legendary was impossible. Haven't gone beyond normal yet with MCC CE but I've adjusted and can actually play with anniversary graphics without much issue. The lag is definitely still there though, which is dissapointing after playing H2 online co-op which worked perfect for me.

To the person asking about Halo 2 being harder, I can say it feels the same to me. I finished the game on Heroic last night, and it felt exactly like Heroic on Halo 2 should feel. The game is a lot tougher then all the other Halos. Can't wait to start Legendary tonight.
