So it's nearly 10pm UK time and I'm just getting to sit down now to chill for a bit from 6am this morning, is matchmaking working now or should I play something else

Try team slayer and H3 if it doesn't work after a few minutes. I would say leave it. But I have played many number of games today, playing team slayer.

I don't know if this has been posted but by default the game is setup to not allow you to hear or talk to people that aren't on your team. This is why you cannot hear anyone in FFA game modes by default.

Graphically? Either way, I think CE holds up extremely well both graphically and with its gameplay.

Graphically it's OK. I don't expect much from a game that old, so I didn't expect to be blown away. Gameplay is ok but the other games are better. Game mechanics - checkpoints, lack of direction, narrative, game flow. They are all from an earlier era in gaming.

Am I the only one really wishing we had just got Halo 2 remastered and all the effort that went into the MCC should have just gone into that instead.
As of right now I could play all 4 Halo games on one disc. 2 of those games have new graphics and the other 2 have higher resolutions/framerate.

The multiplayer is busted right now but if they fix it then this will be the greatest hd collection of all time.

So no, I don't agree. I'm pissed that the mp isn't working but I'm not going to discount the fact that the other games on disc work (well, barring achievement stuff).

No, I completely agree. I'm sure this is part of the reason this package is such a mess.

I'd be sorta bummed about not being able to play CE multiplayer online... but honestly I probably won't touch Halo3/4.... Well I most certainly won't be playing 4. I like to pretend that game's multiplayer doesn't exist, and the story is not canon.

That's funny because of any Halo, Halo 4 is the closest to the true canon of Halo.

Multiplayer is very enjoyable too.

I saw that setting as well and changed it. I wish it defaulted to the option in which everyone can hear you speak. I want proximity chat back.

That's what I liked most about the story in the game. They actually gave the covenant character and history. It's great watching the in-fighting amongst the covenant themselves.

i preferred my covenants as just a bunch of alien fodder. also, halo 2 is the one with the bear people, right? that kinda came out of nowhere and just felt meh.

Does anyone know what version of the controls multiplayer uses? I've noticed that campaigns control just a little bit different. Halo 3 almost feels like the controls were ripped out of titanfall. Almost zero deadzone and the rumble triggers are put to good use. Halo 1 and 2 feel similar, with 2 being a little more touchy.

This is correct, but as someone who cares mostly about campaign it goes like this:
Halo CE -> Godlike
Halo 2 -> A mess. Some good ideas but didn't reach its goal.
Halo 3 -> Good enough, but with very low lows.

Haven't played through H4 yet.

H4 looks okay from what I played last night but I really hope Reach, ODST, and Wars get released as season pass material or something...was replaying CE and the intro really does fit in tonally with the end of Reach especially with the graphics upgrades.

I didn't upgrade to a 360, so I never got to play Halo 3 or 4..

I decided to get it over with and just watch the games in cinematic edits on youtube.

Gotta say, Halo 3 was a bore.. with Halo 4, things started to get interesting.. it also included all the Halo 4 content outside of the game, like the Spartan mini adventures or whatever.

I enjoyed.

Looking forward to watching Halo 5.

Me and two people looking to do customs , anybody hosting or want to create a lobby? Possibly infection? But anything will do. My gamertag is SeventhParallel message me if you fancy playing

Honest question:

Apart from the matchmaking problem.

Are there any gamebreaking bugs, I, as I never played HALO online, will notice?

Or are most bugs you guys write down just "back in my days it was different"-bugs ? :)

It's so hit and miss and takes forever.

Sometimes I don't even get the searching... Boxes at the right and the roster just stays and I have to back right out.

I've noticed every time I switch from H2A to regular H2 in solo campaign during cutscenes, the audio cuts off completely. Ruins the fun of seeing the changes if I can't hear a fucking thing.

You can playthrough the story just fine, although some achievements will track but not unlock atm. However co-op campaign has been dodgy for some users although it was fine for me.

There seems to be a slight delay loading the different audio.

Playing Halo 4 multiplayer and then going to Halo 2 is literally the equivalent of day and night. The map design, the gameplay, the balance. It's stunning how badly everything was implemented in Halo 4.

Been getting steady MP after the "wait a few second we're updating our network" thingy

Takes about 30 secs to find a match

Other then Mm I haven't had a single problem.... I've only played about 6 hours but haven't had a single problem... Apparently the framerate and lag for coop renders the game unplayable however.

I'll answer my own, impatient, question.

The controls carry over from their individual games. So they all control just a little differently (a lot differently with halo 3). I wonder why halo 3 got the special treatment.
