What else is there to say? This is incompetence at a gross level, bordering on negligence.

As an MP guy, the game is still barely functional for me and if there was an update today, the result is that I can no longer find the few game I was finding last night.

"The matchmaking process was not successful. Please try matching again"

Going by the number of bugs (let alone matchmaking) that I've encountered myself; there is just no way this game will be working as intended anytime soon.

Yah i can't imagine they get them all but as long as matchmaking works i'm ok for now

This has gotten ridiculous, anyone running customs have room for another? Would love to play some Halo 1, 2, or H2A CTF matches.

Been matchmaking for about two hours now. Nada.

But the menu music is entertaining enough, so I'll stick with that for the time being.

Honestly. These server updates won't do shit. This game needs to be patched

yeah, that's an obvious plan

but they are trying to make a short term remedy until they can get a patch coded and certified (which when it hits cert will probably be fast tracked as it's a critical issue)

I wonder how much of an impact next week's batch of games will have on this. I'll almost certainly be swapping to GTA V, especially if this thing still doesn't work then.

Would matchmaking issues require client update? Assumed it would all be server side?

Don't get me wrong, the game needs a patch, but for quicker MM and balanced sides, I wouldn't have thought a patch would be required.

It seems like every things worse, last night at least i could get into a match every 20min. Now nothing.

it's possible if the client is doing something funny or timing out

but things like the party/roster likely needs a patch unless what's happening to that is a side-effect of the servers

we don't know what needs fixed but let's just assume both client and server patches are necessary

This generation is completely pathetic.

We simply need to stop buying games day 1. Either publishers get their shit together or they go under, and I sure as hell won't miss them.

Driveclub, Unity, this... It's absurd. They clearly have absolutely no respect towards the consumers.

As atm I'm 99% sure mm is completely down.

So did I, and mine were Halo and AssCreed. Luckily AssCreed is exactly what I wanted, and runs well enough on PC, and the Multiplayer is really good, despite nobody really ever helping when you die. Halo campaigns are still as great today as they were back in the day, and Coop is still fun as hell. Some stuff doesn't unlock properly though, which is annoying.

I'm super torn on Halo CE Anniversary's graphics. I prefer the original graphics for Pillar of Autumn and Halo but Truth and Reconciliation looks gorgeous with the newer look

Is the single player as broken as the MM? My friend was so hyped for this game he went and bought me an Xbox One to play with him, and it's really gonna suck if we can't at least get in some campaign co op or something.

Campaign is fine. Only MM is broken.

You may be right, but which halo are you having problems with, because if you have only experienced this with halo ce that game's crouching is totally different from the others and plays like what you are describing.

I sure as hell won't waste my time watching a matchmaking screen with fun games that work waiting for me in other platforms.

They better hope to fix this before everyone stops giving a shit about the game and moves on permanently.

Same. The new graphics are snazzy, but I like the old art design way more. I think I'm going to keep it on classic.

Wow. I've been on a work trip and won't be home until just before thanksgiving. I've been keeping an eye on GAF's discussions of my two most anticipated games- halo and AC.

Both threads have made the games sound like completely broken pieces of shit. It seems like being an early adopter of video games now will get you seriously burned. Hopefully both games get straightened out by the time I get back.
