Started Halo 2 LASO playthrough for the achievement...

Ca't get past that second big room with the trees in.

Can't help but feel it was a shitty decision putting LASO achievements in, it just isn't fun.

With everyone voting for Team BRs, there's so little diversity in the gameplay. I played the hell out of the first two Halos, and didn't play anymore after that. I don't remember there being Battle Rifle starts in Halo 2 like this.

Map/game mode voting needs to go. It's terrible. Democracy in games in this respect is terrible. People always vote for small maps. high-dmg weapons so they can play like chickens with their heads cut off.

Also, I forgot how much of a grenade spam fest Halo is.

AMEN. This is the exact reason why I didn't enjoy Halo 3 quite as much and really wasn't that into Halo 4 at all. I don't mind the Battle Rifle or DMR being in the game, they're both cool weapons. But when they're your default weapon to start... that's when the game becomes less fun to me. When you can pop people across the map with ease and vice versa, it's just not the same. It's the most fun to me when you're running around with dual weapons or a shotgun or even the sword. Halo 2 had that from the start and you had to go and earn/find the better weapons to take control of the match. To me, that's the way it should be. They really got away from that because everyone loves the long range weapons for whatever reason.

spawning rocks on sanctuary or top mid on ascension with an SMG isn't my idea of fun

Halo CE's campaign gets WAY easier after "Assault On The Control Room" on Legendary, once the flood get introduced the game gets a ton easier. While they're more agressive, their AI routines are much more predictable, they just try to rush you. 2 shots with the pistol to the head kills them, shotguns are great for camping corners when they rush you in a corridor, and ammo for all the effective human weapons drop frequently from them too so ammos not an issue. You've just got to be patient, keep an eye on your radar and just back up when they're coming.

Covenant are a pain in the arse on Legendary.

Pistol/Shotgun and a lot of nades is the way to go for Flood. I would say the last half of Halo CE is actually harder, game gets more frantic overall. But, for Flood if you can land good shots with Pistol and have lots of Shotty ammo and Nades, you'll do fine.

Two Betrayals, Keyes and The Maw is when Halo CE on Legendary really starts to ramp up. Truth and Reconciliation is the early game outlier as difficulty spike. Plasma weapons make Legendary far more manageable though, and they are infinite essentially throughout the game. Pistol, Shotgun and Power Weapons if you got em, otherwise, plasma rifle, plasma pistol, and needler every so often.

I wish clearing the level on legendary would activate the heroic, easy achievements. Unless my version is bugged, to get all achievements you will have to do it all again on easy etc.

Seems pointless.

Wow. This game is fucked in all kinds of ways.

They have to be bugged. That is how it works in every other Halo game.

Has the patched improved the campaign crash issues, which I primarily saw in Halo 4? (Along with the other stuff in the patch notes?)

I believe matchmaking is still very inconsistent.

H4 Elites are tragically stupid.

Introduce a new enemy type that are not as fun to fight as Elites, then make Elites dumb and unfun to fight against, so you somehow rewire your brain to think that Prometheans are a good enemy type.

9.8/10

They really should have ported the Reach AI for the Covenant, it was fantastic. The Prometheans were pretty decent with their tricks in Halo 4, so the Covenant being a pushover was rather odd.

Yes! In Reach the Elites were scary opponents. It reminded me a lot of Gears of War 1's Locust. Menacing enemies in very small groups.

You don't need to earn every achievement in a game in order to have fun with it. Besides, it makes it an achievement in the truest sense of the word for anyone who manages to complete it in LASO.

Hilarious that people are complaining about their ranks getting reset when me and my entire friends list have yet to get into a single ranked playlist. Not one game since release. Ive only managed like 2 big team and 2 Halo 3 matches per day. The game allows me into about 3-4 matches and then stops working. Completely unacceptable.

Once it starts working though - this game is going to be a beast. The big team Halo 1 matches ive played have been the most fun - and funniest - stuff ive experienced in a long time. What a tease.

Only played two or three anniversary games and lose connection half way through them usually but I really, really don't like this double announcer. There's the classic announcer that talks but then every five seconds this second announcer shows up and it just sounds super weird. Everything is really starting to seem second hand in this.

Guys, am I missing something or are there no credits at the end of the games? I just finished Halo CE and got no credits... and the credits in the extras just open a webpage with internet explorer. What the hell?

Every time I back out of a lobby it splits up my team. I'm assuming this is happening to everyone? This is the first night I've played and boy is it frustrating.

Yep, it's true. The campaigns don't have credit sequences.

Kinda disappointed me when I finished Halo 2, as I was looking forward to some Marty goodness.

It's incredibly disappointing, those credits were a big part of the experience after finishing a Halo game. The music, the messages Bungie left in there... I miss them just as much as the original loading screens :(

oh man. I played so much Halo: CE system link. It feels so good to play again. We need a Halo CE playlist so badly.

Long live the Equalizer. AKA: pistol.

Didn't realise people watched credits!
I guess that would be disappointing for credit roll junkies :D

I always watch the credits after I finish a game. Gotta give credits to the devs and it gives me time to think about the experience I just had. It's kind of relaxing, I like it.

Yeah, it was a big downer. Seeing that 'credits'-option in the menus opening up Internet Explorer was just weird.

Guess 343 and I still have different ideas about what makes a great Halo experience. Halo having seamless transitions from game to cutscene was another, and while I adore Blur's work, I wish they'd kept the cutscenes in-engine.

I was just about to post this after finishing CE a second ago. Kinda sad as credits give you a sense of accomplishment and chance to reflect.

This is the most jarring thing for me in H2A. After 10 years of playing Outskirts and having the end of the mission immediately transition into Chief walking up to Michelle and David, seeing the static loading screen now just feels weird.
