Can any fellow gaffers help with an annoying problem? I bought the digital version and whenever I go to watch Nightfall it says "buy halo" with no option to play. The only solution I've been able to find is to enter the code from the game case (something I obviously don't have), checked email just in case too but nothing there. Anyone have an idea of how to fix it?

Small aside, do you get access to the Halo 5 multiplayer beta with the digital edition?

Small gripe compared to everything else but the giant bars at the top and bottom of the achievement pictures make them useless to use as wallpaper since basically the entire image is covered by the Tiles even more so than regular achievement art :(

Agreed. I would much prefer full images without the bars.

returned the game to GAME. They didn't like it - were saying 'thats how the game is, they're fixing it now' and 'it isn't our fault it is broken'. I pointed out fixing it means it isn't currently working, and I wasn't blaming them, I just wanted my money back.

They gave me a refund eventually. Not sure whether to hold onto the credit for when the game gets fixed, or use it on Dragon Age or GTAV. I mainly bought it for splitscreen coop campaign play and I'm not confident they'll be giving that much attention - all eyes seem to be on the multiplayer.

GTA 5. Free-roaming Multiplayer in first person view man. :)

Yeah, I'm sure there was some achievement art without the bars that were posted on GAF (when all the art was shown). So hopefully they're easy to unlock as I do remember some good ones. Still, you could also put some custom Halo backgrounds on via USB.

The fence around the top of the zanzibar hotel is only visible from one side in anniversary mode graphics, it makes you think nothing is there but stops you dropping off the edge. Original graphics display the barrier from both sides fine.

Lot's of little flaws in the anniversary graphics which I think the team never really thought about and presumed it was not needed.

If the game skips 343 and goes right to the library, do you not get the master chief saga achievement? I hated the library and two betrayals but will start CE over if it means I'll get the achievement. So pissed.

Did they ever fix the shitty frame rate in Halo 3 online co-op? Game was a juddery mess two days ago.

Played half the Halo 3 campaign last night.

Must have been around 10-15 FPS the entire time with 3 buddies.

Also, everyone got achievements for finding skulls except me. I didn't get a single one.

You could go and select the 343 mission from the mission selector

Damn. I played about 6 missions in 4 player coop a couple nights ago and it was pretty smooth majority of the time. Last night it wasn't so smooth, but that was probably due to my internet acting up.

A bunch of control options are messed up in the games. For example, with the default "Recon" control scheme in Halo 2, pressing LB equips the second weapon in dual wielding or recharges it, but ALSO switches grenade type. You can't pick up a 2nd dual wielding weapon without switching grenade type unless you use Y.

There's also a control option that makes dual wielding unusable in Halo 3, but I forgot which one. Basically, trying to reload your left weapon would unequip it while reloading.

Halo CE is awesome. AotCR is one of the best levels in the franchise, and one of the best levels ever. The Library is probably longer than it needs to be, but it is actually quite a fun level filled with non-stop action combat, a cool homage to old school FPS games. And Two Betrayals, with it's great atmosphere and those crazy three way battles is very good too.

And yes, the visual repetition is really the only "big" problem the Halo CE Campaign has, and it is only annoying during the first playthrough. Once you get into the combat and start replaying levels, it stops being a problem. The encounters are so fun and replayable that you don't really think about the repetitive textures and re-used geometry.

Never thought I'd see someone say that Halo 2's AI is better than Halo CE's. LOL.

Halo 2's enemies may be more dangerous, but only because they do more damage. The actual AI behaviour is way inferior to Halo CE, which still has some of the best AI ever seen in a videogame (IMO only FEAR can compare)

And yes, you can throw a bunch of grunts and jackals and a couple of elites in a room, and it will make for a way more fun encounter than anything found in Halo 2. The AI and the gameplay are just that good. As I said, the combat in Halo CE is still unmatched to this day.

Thousand times yes. Part of the reason I don't mind the repetition those mother effers are smart.

Nothing yet although it was mentioned earlier in the thread that the multiplayer update is due on Wednesday, not sure how accurate that is though.
Best to always check the direct source:
I’d like to provide the latest on Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and what the team is working on to address the issues you’re experiencing.

Looking at our data logs, server-side adjustments that we have made over the past 24 hours have shown a 20% increase in server connectivity. However, we are well aware that performance is not where it needs to be. Resolving Matchmaking issues also requires client-side fixes, which require a content update. The client side update, which focuses on Matchmaking performance, non-matchmaking bugs, and a variety of title-specific issues, has been completed and is going through testing and certification. We are currently targeting a release of Wednesday 11/19 for this content update.

We know the current Matchmaking experience is frustrating, and we continue to have various teams working 24/7 to isolate and resolve the issues to provide the best experience as soon as possible. We are going to continue to optimize the matchmaking experience after next week's content update, and make further adjustments as needed. We thank you for your continued patience.

It's straight from 343, pretty accurate. Unless of course it gets delayed.

edit: beaten

I bought a Xbone this week just for MCC to play MP halo3 Valhalla at 60fps 1080p. This was a dream come true considering the underpar H4 on 360.
How the fuck could 343 and MS screw this up so badly?
Yes I'll agree the xbone is a great console and I'm really enjoying horizon 2 and sunset overdrive but MCC was meant to really grace the xbone.

100% agree. I don't even check achievements anymore because it's too much of a hassle. The 360 party system was way better too.
As a new Xbox One owner, and someone that mained 360 last gen, I'm incredibly disappointed with the Xbox One UI. Pretty much everything about it is a huge step backwards from 360. I just don't understand how they could have taken everything that worked so fluidly last gen and turned it into this mess. I used to love checking out my achievements on 360, but now I can't be bothered to go through all the machinations and waiting required to do so on XB1.

No clue if anyone claimed these, posted in the DA thread and nobody responded. These are codes for a 14-day XBL trial.

I dunno. I think it was a bit closer to 20FPS, just because the cinematics still looked like movies and not slide shows...

what was really odd though was that the entire game was operating at a slower speed in sync with the lowered frame rate, so you felt like you were playing slo-mo Moon Bounce edition of Halo 3. Obviously not optimal, but I'd be lying it it wasn't oddly fun at the same time.

Here's what it looked like:

http://xboxclips.com/video.php?uid=...hsdh&vid=b9324272-7d78-4a84-bc2f-d28c94fe926b

The best part were the awkward pauses in cinematics, especially as the music dropped out way early.

Every time I want to view a achievement shit has to snap and load uhhhhh, it was miles better on 360.

Yeah, the snapping is better whenever you want to leave info up, and that's awesome... but for quickly checking something or popping back into your game, it's sadly deficient. I'd love for them to bring back the guide in addition to the snapping stuff.

LOL wat? 10-15 FPS. Please tell me this was just a rush job and they will fix some of this stuff....

I'm sorry, but how how is this game escaping all criticism in press?

Wonder why that happened? I've played through the first 5 missions of Halo 3 with 2 other people online and had 0 issues. This was several days ago too, before the first patch

It's due to the lockstep networking of campaign co-op. Halo 3 doesn't update the simulation until it updates everyone, so if someone is lagging, it slows down the game (in addition to button delays). It happens in the 360 version too, it was nice when it showed up during heavy Brute waves in ODST because then you could Matrix Pistol them all to death :p

edit: cutscenes are kept in lockstep as well

The 5 minutes of Halo 3 online co-op I played was in slowmotion and at <30 fps. Both me and the person I was playing with experienced this.

I'm sorry but

Or rather, I don't want to believe you. Nothing surprises me with this collection right now.

It's completely true. Online co-op on Halo 3 runs waybelow 30 fps. Sometimes it turns into a slideshow. Not sure if it's lag or what causing it, but if frames don't catch up the game runs in slo-mo.

I had this aswell, I thought it was because of the hoster internet connection. For him it was smooth (at least, it is what he told me). For me the frame-rate was really bad though.

I haven't been able to view my achievements on Xbox for the past 20 hours, so nothing is unlocking. Can't even look at them on Xbox.com, it just leads me to an error page. Help.

I'm scared if it ever works again, all the achievements I unlocked while playing, wont actually unlock.

I think because the press fucked up and weren't thorough enough. I'll say this though, there has been chatter among gaming journalists that review copies will be declined if there's any kind of press embargo.

That's odd. I played through three missions with my brother the other day and neither of us had any issues withit until towards the end of our session which started lagging but I put that down to my other half deciding to start streaming Netflix whilst we were playing.
