Hmm... 1.4GB is a lot and this will mean that a lot of people won't join matchmaking immediately... so that might making matchmaking harder for the first impressions, definitely. That raises another question actually; what do we consider to be "ideal" matchmaking times? I could find games in Halo 4/Reach in under a minute, MCC takes 4-5 minutes when it works at all.

PLEASE WORK PLEASE

So finally got and played a bit. Freaking loving what I have played so far, just a couple missions of CEA and a couple of H2. Fantastic so far, and the instant switch is so nice.

One complaint so far is the loading in Halo 2, curious as to why it doesn't load while the blur cinematics are playing.

Have to call bullshit from first hand experience mate, ranked objective playlist at 50 for years was a haven to host cheating and booting. Also remember in the lobby how your yellow boxes would disappear and then magically all fill up and the game would start or the search would take a long time?...yep bridging host at its finest before the game even started. How about so many quitters? A large percentage of quitters was in fact host booting at work. Don't kid yourself at high levels in almost any playlist it was rampant, not so much at launch but the longer Halo 3 was out the worse it got. Also you couldn't bridge host yourself in 3 but could in 2. How about bought accounts? How about boosted accounts? How about DDOS? I could keep going.

How many players bridged host to stop the cheaters? Therefore cheating themselves and cheating players/teams like me out of any chance to get Aussie host.

Uh... no.

Out of a couple thousand games of Halo 3, maybe a handful of times I remember seeing something that was probably cheating and not run of the mill connection issues. Deranking was probably the most irritating exploit-ish thing in that game.

No difference after patch for me. Says players found and hangs on that instead of searching. Matchmaking is still broken, have been waiting on "PLAYERS FOUND" for about 10 minutes.

Edit: As a huge Halo fan, it pains me to say it, but I'm on the verge of selling this and not paying any attention to Halo 5.

Your problem wasn't bridging. Your problem was living in the Internet shithole of the world.

The interesting part was with a team of 4 Aussies I could pull host over USA teams. Sure Australia has some backwards ass Internet but I was on cable at that time, before it was really popular here and had great stability and speeds.

Sucks I can't get Fibre where I'm at, yet...

You realize EVERYONE is/has to download this patch right? Give it more than 10 minutes why don't ya...

Why does it say "players found" on the left and hangs there with nobody appearing in my party on the right, if that's the case? I doubt I'm the only person with relatively fast internet on here.

On the plus side, they appear to have fixed the situation where you don't get the grey "searching" boxes on the right.
