Not that I'm not sure Halo 4 is the less popular one, but I'd like to know how much worse it did compared to the others.

Pretty sure Halo 2 was number one on the charts every week up until Halo 3 released. It wasn't until COD4 that the Call of Duty franchise started dominating the leaderboards.

If Microsoft believed this, we wouldn't be seeing a MCC or Halo 5. Do you think that Halo MCC will sell poorly through the holiday and the 5 will struggle to sell when it releases?

Anyone I know that's played halo thinks it's awesome and is looking forward to halo 5 and the MCC of they haven't already picked it up. That's far from a "sour public opinion" of halo to me.

I'm really interested to see how MCC sells this holiday to see how sour public opinion really is.

I think anyone who is vocal about the series hasn't expressed good opinions en masse for a long time and that isn't good on any level. Halo MCC was a chance for 343 to bring out a game that gave long term fans a reason to trust them with a series they cared about and the troubled launch hasn't instilled confidence.

Anecdotal but I know someone who bought a console just for the game and doesn't really follow what 343i are saying or even the gaming scene in general and he is super pissed about it. He has Warcraft now and won't even bother with the game for a while fix or not.

And just to be clear I'm as big a fan of Halo as they come and really want this patch to fix the game up and make it playable so I can have fun on it

Yep. Halo 2 stayed up there until Halo 3 came out. Which makes this chart even more interesting, because not only did Halo 3 decimate 2 in UUs when it released, you have to remember the game on the left was still out-population 360 titles two years into the console's lifespawn:

There is an extensive ARMA 3 mod that is this, but the enemies are insurrectionists. It's still being made but there is a good deal of progress.

I think most people are willin to wait for fixes. And even Christmas.

I made a game type based off of GAF ideas which is a 10 round 1 life per round slayer with the movement slowed and damaged altered with no shield recharge. Basically CS Halo lol

Yep that's the only reason I bought crackdown. It turned out to be a good game but I couldn't really play it due to it's lack of legacy southpaw controls.

Yeah, they were close. Kind of like how Gears of War finally knocked off Halo 2 from #1 in late 2006. Halo 2 stayed close until Halo 3 came out.

2-3 hours, heck you'll know after installing if you can get a game right away, exit out and do it all over again 5-6 times getting a match each time with no wait.

either way no one can't denny COD4 was a huge blow to Halo popularity, Halo 3 just felt old after playing a bunch of COD4 multiplayer

Yep, but don't kid yourself that Halo 3 didn't have similar issues, they were just hidden out of view more e.g. host bridging, network throttling, host booting etc. So many told themselves that bridging for host wasn't cheating, LOL.

I still remember social even had dicks booting players for laughs. High ranked play was a total joke playing against bridgers and booters. I can't wait for MCC to have dedis up and running smoothly, finally after all these years.
