Being that I have two young kids, I rely on checkpoints because I need to stop very often. I was just 90% through the Oracle level on H2 and lost all progress. I'm getting fucking pissed now, so I'm picking up GTA and Far Cry tomorrow. I'll play those until this is sorted.

i was gonna buy an xbone just for halo 2 anniversary but damn they managed to screw up a remaster of a 10 year old game. How do you even do that?

Edit: also when people act like it's been months since the game is released and it's still broken.

I've actively tried to find a game for the past one hour and forty minutes.

Yep.

Basically the issue with Halo 1 MCC/PC is that the original multiplayer was built around lockstep and expecting no more than 1ms latency between boxes who were all on the same LAN. It was (almost) basically splitscreen run over a network.

Halo PC was an attempt to convert that experience to something that had to run asynchronously over the internet, hamstrung by a corporate edict to be 56k modem compatible, but really, even on broadband you're still forcing a square peg into a round hole.

Unless they port Halo 1 Xbox's multiplayer directly over, and restrict it LAN-only, it won't ever play exactly like the original.

Seeing Frankie's posts around here and his replies to randoms on XBL saying that they are working on it has genuinely curbed my qualms. They are working on it. Not much more you can ask. I already threw my tantrum. I got over it. I'm gonna play the shit out of MCC no matter what.

I wanted to play a lot of halo before the wow expansion. Now it looks like when I'm done 24-7ing that Halo might finally be playable. More disappointed that it shipped like this than mad though. Have not gotten a single MP match ever.

Besides the matchmaking problems, I really hope we get some playlist/mode variety, Team BRs is such ass, and I hate not being able to directly just play H1/H4. :(

Just picked up Far Cry myself partially as a result of being so disappointed with this game. Digging it so far definitely, and haven't encountered any issues online or offline yet so that's quite welcome too of course.

That's not accurate at all.

I got into a few games faster when the patch launched. Outside that, it hasn't appeared to fix any of the game's problems.

Maybe he means unlucky in the sense that all Halo fans are unlucky that an incompetent studio inherited a great series. That has to be it, right?

ALTHOUGH, I did get this achievement for being in the lobby this long.

Put Up Your Dukes: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Get 25 melee kills in multiplayer.

Must be. Since it went live the other day I've read countless posts saying MM times are much faster. Parties are still borked, but finding games is a lot easier. Dunno what to tell you.

Quit out of matchmaking and search again.

Reset your router.

Hard reset your console.

Matchmaking has improved significantly, made it's just your connection.

If you're not finding a game after 2 hours, there has to be a problem with your connection, not the game.

Sadly I shall be calling them in the morning for a full refund.

I cannot deal with this game anymore, will buy again when cheaper and fixed.

Halo 5 beta be damned.

Nah its getting to the point where people should realise the game isn't fixed. Just play campaign or a different game. If your posting in here you already know the game is borked.

Either get a refund or just stop trying until it's actually fixed. Why are people frustrating themselves still?

For better or for worse, I've noticed that people are plugging in their mics more to express their disgust.

Also, have I stumbled into bizarro world where the collection is somehow fixed for the majority? It's still broken for me and many others.
