Halo The Master Chief Collection |OT| Halo Never Died, It Was Just Missing In Action

Is it really that bad?

Yes. That one log to see what they were fixing had me thinking things would be different...It took me 30 minutes to get into a H2A match in multiplayer.

This really is a clusterfuck of epic proportions.

I have zero interest in playing the SP stories since I bought and 100%-ed H:CEA at launch and have played the Halo 3 ad nauseum.

The way it's looking now this game (matchmaking only) won't be fixed until Christmas. What a train wreck.

I'll keep trying every few days and checking this thread but I'm gonna generally move on now and stop trying and hoping to get this game to work every time I wanna game.

Just fixed my PC too so Dragon Age here I come.

I'm sitting here right now thinking about an alternate reality where the MCC worked flawlessly. We'd all be experiencing pure Halo bliss. Fuck.

Yea. I could only imagine how many years this game would have been in the top 5 of online games for XBL. It had the potential to be a staple of X1 platform. All the fall releases come and go, I could have always come back to this game in droughts ... It could have been amazing. :(

H2A runs worse for me. Framerate drops for no apparent reason and it's very glitchy. Enemies, vehicles, structures all disappear and reappear at random right in front of my very eyes with alarming frequency.

Which levels? Aside from my issues with checkpoints and campaign hard-locks, H2A ran consistently smooth for me all the way through Regret. Get some videos of the weirdness. If this is happening with any sort of frequency, I'm to the point where shaming seems more productive than just sitting on our hands.

So getting into more matches this morning. Not sure what changed, been in like 5 so far.

Pretty freaking awesome, and easier than I thought it would be jumping from game to game with the universal control scheme.

No lag, solid 60fps, and pure fun.

Muscle memory comes right back.

I hopped on last night for the first time since the patch. Played about 5 multiplayer games. Less than 30 seconds finding a match. One match was very laggy. And one match froze the system after the game ended.

Other than that it was completely fine and silky smooth. So, much better than it was at launch.

I will give 343 time. Yeah it sucks and the game never should have been released like this, but shit happens. There is nothing else like this on the market and this game will last a very very long time.

Since this night I'm having lots of "lost connection with the host" or "full session" issues.

Can someone gimme some noob tips?
In every Halo, the BR combined with a covenant weapon is the best combination?
I cant shot more then once on the head. lol So the BR is a hard to handle weapon for me.

Plasma pistol. Keep it charged up and fire on your enemy when you come across them. Then quickly shift to BR and take them out in one or two shots.

Edit: This is quite a bit more difficult to pull of in the H2A multiplayer since the plasma pistol will auto fire if you keep it charged for too long.

Soo.. still not looking pretty?

Worth buying by mid-December?

Depends on how you want to play right now. Single Player is amazing, but there are bugs present. MP is working better now but has major issues still. It also depends on your faith the developers will fix the bugs.

Thanks! Gonna try that sometimes.

I am actually having fun, but having my ass strongly kicked. Sometimes I ask myself what is happening since they kill me really fast and I dont. Lol
But I guess, by circunstances, that most Halo MCC players right now are experienced with the game.

Assuming youre talking about the noob tip though. The connection issues are a fucking pain!

Nah I was talking about the connection stuff :(

At least Halo 4 had those fall back servers so that you could play even when there were issues (albeit with none of your progression unlocked).

Played some campaigns since mp is busted in parties. I was playing with two boxes on the same network and lost a lot of legendary progress when we got lost connection at the end of a level. Why is there no LAN for this shit? Why do we need to connect to live for a p2p game on the same network?

And halo 3 was dripping down to sub 10 fps is some areas. It was a slideshow.

Got my "courtesy" refund on my digital copy this morning. Gave me the run around for a bit, but in the end got them to agree. Shame that it had to be done, but the game is just flat out broken still at this point, so I might as well spend the money on something that works properly. Like others, I'll likely come back in a few months once the issues are ironed out and I can grab it for cheaper. Hope it does start to greatly improve sooner rather than later for those of you who are sticking with it though.

re did last mission in h4 for achievement solo leg, doesnt unlock cause it counts my solo run as a coop playthrough wut.

Pretty much. Honestly can't see the game's MP issues being straightened out until December at the earliest.

Having your campaign progress lost while trying to play legendary blows. I guess I shouldn't save and quit anymore.

Halo MCC OT2: 343 Guilty for lack of Spark

I really hope 343 do with the Prometheans in Halo 5 what Bungie did with the Brutes in Halo 3.

Replaying Halo 4 and it almost an excellent campaign with gorgeous graphics but the Prometheans drag the combat down whenever they show up.

Also ditch their entire weaponset. Its basically reskinned human weapons.

Also the music really grows in you. Its quite fantastic and suits the setting well.

In Halo 2, best combo was called noob combo.

Hold a charged plasma pistol in one set. Target and release. Switch to BR. Line up cross hair to head. See dots on Cross hair. Fire.

Yup! Thanks! I did that in the last match:

I had good luck last night.

Got several games with varying party sizes from 2-5. The party size was typically equal. Played quite a bit of Team Slayer. It was a good night and overall things seemed to be working better.

There are still some issues though. When I had a guest, the framerate was terrible. This typically happened on the newer H2A maps, but it was noticeable enough that it affected the game play. The splitscreen on H4 is pure garbage. It puts black boxes on the left and the right of the screen, and everything is condensed down. It's puzzling why it's that way.

I also played some customs and ran into two glaring issues. One is (this could be a host problem not knowing the menus), he was unable to allow us to set multiple teams. We wanted to do a 2v2v2v2, and he couldn't find it. Was this left out? Or was the host just ignorant to it's presence?

The other issue was a broken respawn timer. This only happened on H2 Classic. Basically I would die, and the respawn timer was stuck at 9. It would stay this way for a couple of minutes, then randomly decide to let me respawn and tick down. It happened over a variety of game types, and was happening to several guys in my game. That was really frustrating especially when playing CTF, KOTH, and Bomb.

I had a good time overall though. Just iron out the bugs and I'll be happy, because the gameplay is still golden.
