Honestly strictly from my experience, plus a few other posters the SP/MP are terribly broken. Ive lost progress twice on legendary HL2A play throughs, and the framerate is pretty terrible in Halo:CEA, 3, 4 at times. I want to ask for a refund of my digital copy, but I think Ill sit on it since I still have SO and Farcry to dig into.

From what I'm seeing the patch is starting to kick in a little more, at least for matchmaking? But know hopefully they can tweak a lot of the other messed up things.
Not here, can't get a single Big Team Battle match. Got a Halo 2 Classic match, but couldn't respawn - got stuck in spectator mode.
Matchmaking isn't working at all so far today. Given BTB two 5 minute attempts at finding me a match/players and nothing. Now trying Halo 3, on my second 5 minute attempt. Legit, as soon as I hit BTB upon booting up the game to search it said "Matchmaking Failed" and some other bullshit. Quit out of the game and trying it again. This game is a broken pile of trash, what an all-around embarrassment. Why are publishers so short-sighted? Cool, you make a few bucks from the holidays whilst irreparably destroying your strongest brand. By the time this shit is fixed who will be left to play it? Who's going to give a shit about the beta? Better yet, how do you even go about releasing it when Halo: MCC as a whole is a dumpster fire?
With MM being entirely broken and all, the only thing I've been playing is campaign and H1 customs. H1 customs seriously hold up imo. Game is so much fun to play well over a decade later.

Started off searching for a Halo 3 game, it is my favorite of the bunch after all.
I enter matchmaking and things are smooth sailing so far. The UI seems to be operating as designed.
My game begins to fill up quickly, within just a few seconds. Positive sign!
We enter the lobby and, what's this, even teams? This simply can't be! Why, this is the Halo I love! Even, competitive matches that go down to the bitter end.
With the teams ready and set to go, we have one final hurdle to overcome... starting the game. Sure enough, the countdown timer runs out and the match loads up as smoothly and reliably as you remember it.
It's time to play.

Halo 3 still has 6,000 players online and is more reliable than ever. *sigh* Though I must say, how were we ever competitive with this shitty ass controller? Hard to go back from the XBO controller.
Yeah, that's what's sad about this whole thing. You can play Halo 1 & 2 on the Original Xbox, as well as Halo 3 on Xbox 360 without any problems or issues at all, & you're guaranteed to play those games years & years down the line.
343 however, can't even get those games working right on a console that's much more powerful than the Original Xbox & Xbox 360 combined, & people aren't guaranteed to play those games years down the road due to needing XBL servers. Laughable.
Went over to my friends house to play some MCC. Having been constantly refreshing this thread since launch I thought our experience would be abysmal. We tried to play on his brothers box first as he had a bigger screen because we were split-screening. No luck there finding a game. So we switched to my friend his box since he got matches on there before I arrived. And it worked! We had lots of games. Our longest waiting time was probably 3-5 minutes, which isn't too bad. Occasionally we got put on different teams and the frame rate wasn't super consistent. But nothing that made us have any less fun.
The game is so much fun when it works and I'll probably pick up an Xbox One with the game in the future. I'd buy one next week but got some shit to finish up first. So hopefully buy the time I'm able to buy it 343 patched the game up.

The 24 hours immediately after the patch,I was getting BTB matches pretty quickly. They musta done some more server shenanigans, cause the past 2 or 3 days, it's been near impossible to find one.

Edit: I prefer slayer to objective games. I wouldn't dare take away objective games from BTB. That's just kind of mean.
On a different note, my last team slayer lobby was 14 out of 10 last night, even teams to boot. 7v7 on Derelict was nuts.

This is whats infuriating. Once you get into a decent game, there is nothing else like it. But then it ends and you are back to searching endlessly again. :/
Even more infuriating is when you do get a game but it kicks you out at the loading screen. I could put my controller through the TV when that happens.

Strange. I liked Halo 3 when it was out. Now I'm finding that it is my least favorite MP in the collection when directly compared to its peers. Something just feels off when I'm playing that one.
For those of you losing checkpoint saves- I lost mine last night during Uprising, when I discovered this I just shut the game down and moved on to something else. Just now, I loaded it back up, preparing to start from the beginning of the level, and my earlier save is intact.
May just be a case of having to restart the game a few times to pull your saved checkpoint back up.

I keep think about the halo 5 beta and how that's going to empty out the MP in the MCC for a few weeks as everyone plays that instead, by the time we get a working system the beta will just ruin it again.
This is all so fucking stupid and I blame microsoft as much as 343 for all this, I just want to play my halo online.
