I'm finally playing a Halo 1 game on Sidewinder. Almost lost to the Halo 3 remake of the map. Why does everyone want to play Halo 3/4 in BTB?

Edit: Matchmaking was ok for me last night and right now. East Coast. During the day though it doesn't seem to work.

Halo 4 BTB without custom loadouts (ie: no Plasma Pistols/grenades off spawn, everyone with the same sets, etc.) is pretty fun IMO, at least compared to Halo 3 and SMG starts in Halo 2.

What I really want are some CE playlists. 2v2 TS, 4v4 TS/Objective, 8v8 BTB TS/Objective.

I do agree that the way Halo 4 is now isn't bad (and I hope they keep this setup when they bring back the Halo 4 playlist) but we've never been able to play Halo 1 on Xbox live before and I'm hoping the people I'm matched with see that.

Hopefully, this is a good idea.

The Anniversary reskin makes navigating CE's environments a little easier. Halo 3 is in the top 3/5 FPS campaigns of all time and this is the perfect version of it, it's definitely worth giving a go.

I don't care what anyone says. Spawn trapping is a horrible mechanic (if it truly is intentional).

I don't mean being able to control spawns or predict spawns as obviously that is hugely important and is basically required for any good Halo game. I'm talking about organized spawn killing in which an entire team can stand around and throw grenades at a spot and watch you spawn and die repeatedly.

Maybe my perception is skewed because a lot of the CE games I've played so far have been uneven teams, but it really is ruining a lot of matches. The spawning in general is really bad for CE though I guess.

Matchmaking has been good for me all day. If it released in this state there would not have been as huge of a controversy. There are still lots of little bugs though that force you to restart your game.

The biggest thing right now is that it is carrying players over between matches and immediately setting up the vote for the next match. If you manage to get matched with players who stay in the lobby after the game ends you can get a good string of matches in a row.

Was able to find matches with no problem in the last couple of days. Suddenly, can't get into any games today. Hosts keeps jumping around and lobbies eventually getting dropped.

The fuck did they do to ruin it now?

Yep. (Solo) Matchmaking has been solid for me ever since the patch released. The game's reputation would be much better if it launched like this even though there are still many bugs.

Overall, I could see the main issues of the game being fixed completely before Christmas -- seems like the main thing they need to work on for multiplayer now is improving matches with parties.

Solo matchmaking has been pretty reliable for me.

Also want to chime in and say that Halo 4 in MCCS BTB is pretty fun. Mostly because all of Halo 4s crap is stripped out

Yeah that's just outright brokeness. Controlling spawns and making them spawn in predictable area is fine in my opinion, the ones where you can be killed before you can do anything are the problem.

My friend said he clicked something in Halo and it would bring him to Netflix lol.

Played a lot more. Very improved but still bad.

Partied up with 3. We still had balance issues of putting us on the wrong team, or, 5 v 4, 5 v 3s. One time in our search we got a 15 person game when the cap was at 10, 8 v 7 H2A on lockout lmao we were dying. Other random incidents of bringing us to a lobby with other people.

And why the hell did they change the playlists to 10 people? Very unHalo.

Before it was unplayable. Now it is with some nuances and restarts a lot less. The timing is not as bad and I say borderline acceptable. The main issues is keeping the party intact. Of course our first game, it didn't and we had to start a new lobby over but it carried us over most of the time with some problems. I'm confident it will be great. When it works, I join friend's lobbies instantly, really quick that I was surprised at first but it is weird. With the same people, sometimes it will take longer, sometimes it won't, and you have to restart the game which happened before but is less frequent.

I don't think that would fix it.

I've had matches with 10 players that ended up being 6v4. :/

I suggest both of you run & buy in addition titanfall, forza5, sunset overdrive and horizon2.
you might even end up missing the halo5 beta period and wont even realize it happened :p




also, about <<untracked build, wont upload>> on campaign level finish, guys, thats not a new bug.
it just is intermittent.


I kind of think that most of the bugs are because of passing parameters/global parameters between the various mcc modules.
I have seen many cases of parameters not refreshing on time, or on the same screen you get one window saying "I am the host" and on the upper screen and another window <<somebody else is the host>>, and this when you change the host in customs. in the same screen. I think they need to call over the ms premium elite debugging team.

Played TFall since release on PC. Loved it, but I'm tapped out on it.

Not a racer fan... so no Forza for me.

Sunset... I need to watch some reviews. I still have no clue what that game actually is about other then it's openworld ?

Sadly XB1 only has MCC and H5 for me. In the future it'll have Gears again, and I'll be stoked, but I hope those JRPGs that were promised hit next year.

So I just finished CE using Boxer. I boot up Halo 2 only to find that the CE version of Boxer isn't available in 2.

Am I missing something? I just want to be able to use the left trigger to melee and one of the bumpers to throw a grenade. Even reversing that (trigger to grenade, bumper to melee) would be acceptable.

There needs to be a lot more maps in MCC period. What is Citadel doing here? I do care mostly for H2A maps and there is far too little. The HCS playlist is getting old quick with very few maps.

Mario Kart 8s system would work wonders in MCC

Nah. That will still lead to Team BRS on lockout being selected a million times.

I like the idea of a faint chance of other types getting chosen

Agreed, although I don't like the hit beeps in Halo 5 the visuals cues for hits on CE are few and far between so those beeps really helped.

This is just weird. Since the patch, the game has never really been "in between" working and not working anymore. Before the patch, I would get games about once out of 10 attempts at whatever time I wanted. Now, it seems like depending on when I try, I can either have it working consistently "well" (it's still full of UI bugs and other connectivity issues), or not work at all.

I absolutely agree about MK8 style voting, but I could see a a lot of quitters when the 1 in 8 chance choice gets picked over the 7 in 8 chance.

Have quitting affect their ranking and/or ability to matchmake again for the next 10 minutes.

I dream of a day when quitting in Halo is relentlessly strict, sadly it has never happened. Should be very strict and also have a "safe to leave" deal like Dota when someone does quit and you are just waiting for the slaughter to end.

I'd rather a 4v4 CE playlist than a majority of the playlists we're going to get with this game. It's not a shitshow, you're seriously exaggerating that.

If anything, it makes your lives that much more important so you're not getting one of those crap spawns in a 4v4 on a small map. Hug corners, keep your back against walls and be competent of where your enemy is/may be situated. People bitch about CE spawns, but the way I look at it is you can still defend yourself if spawning in a shitty area, whereas in later games we still complain about spawns anyway, except we can hardly do any work as an individual player.
