Why?

Couldn't this happen if you melee'd during the burst fire animation?

SMG/AR starts depends on the map, I think. On larger maps with a lot open space without cover, you definitely need to start with something like the BR, or else you're left completely helpless.

... What am I looking at?

He's still on about BR bullet lottery, where not every trigger pull registers the correct amount of bullets.

Man, big team battle in Halo 4 can be realllly fun. I played Perdition for the first time. I really liked that map.
Yea some of the H4 BTB maps are actually good. Shatter is kind of crap though, and worse, it suffers from severe fps drops half the time, something I have only noticed in H4 MP on that map.

Definitely. That map is a clusterfuck. Does it still suffer from big frame drops in the master chief collection? I remember that it did on Halo 4 on the Xbox 360.

I am thinking of playlists that should be put in:

Halo Combat Evolved
Halo 4
Team Objective
Rumble Pit
Team Snipers
Infection/Flood
Grifball
Team Hardcore
Team Doubles
Swat

Also they should maybe think about putting in some forge maps in the H2A playlists

I got a pretty wicked Pit remake almost done.

Worse gamertag type, "itz ______" or "xx______xx" and all its varieties?

It's fun to joke around and people really have their own opinions and preferences.. But Warlock BR really is straight out broken. It should never be part of a matchmaking playlist.

I still find it hard to get in BTB matches. I doubt the population is that low. There are MP games on the 360 that I play with player counts hovering around 300 and I still find matches no problem.
Its so surreal, I dont think I ever imagined something like this could happen to Halo of all games.

Depending on how early this happens in the game though, then you're essentially conceding one if not both sniper rifles plus battle rifles to the enemy. At that point it's pretty much game over. You're better off just having one or two teammates rush the rockets at start to secure them and wait for the enemy team to take the banshee.

The rockets keep respawning so the banshee reign won't last for ever.

When you have two decent teams playing the banshee is just another weapon to fight over and take control off so I like it. The problem currently is that with the broken ranks (I'm still on H2A team slayer rank 1 despite having apparently played 100 games?) you end up with a sub standard team where at least two people are new to the game and don't rush the main weapons, that and H2C lag.

They needs to fix ranks, there are already level 50s due to bug abusing. Last match there was a level 33 on the other team, he instantly quits out before the game starts. After the game I go and look him up, and he's now a level 34. lol

I think the wait time to get into a game is proportional to the number of players needed. Now that they've added more transparency to the player finding process, I notice that I get put in lobbies of 5-10 people and wait around until enough show up one at a time to start the game. That's why they said that allowing the game to start as soon as he minimum count is reached would speed up matchmaking.

Try crouch-jumping in Halo CE. It's all visually glitched out. The camera shakes up and down wildly.

Seems like a side product of them trying to fix the fall damage.

Picky, picky! Quitting is rude. Your teammates might stick around with you in your favorite game/type/map, even if it wasn't theirs. Wouldn't you want to do the same for others? Sorry if you were joking, it's just that the selfishness of quitting and unbalancing the game for 9+ other players because the game wasn't to one's liking really irks me. Being a team player means taking one for the team every once in a while.

After 10 years of AR/SMG start bullshit I'm done "taking one for the team". Instant quit.

While xx_____xx is annoying, "itz _______" screws up the kill feed rhythm more, so I'll vote for that.

This is also why gamertags like "my pet hamster" are the best, IMO.

I agree, my Steam name was "31 tiny potatoes" for a while. It made me chuckle.

You melee'd during a burst.

I did not melee during a burst.

Since I'm having this discussion in two separate threads, I'll paste over my reply from the other thread.

Anyone can four shot people in Halo 3, that doesn't negate the fact that at times, you will be robbed of a four shot due to the br refunding. To put it in layman's terms, anytime you fire your BR, and the AR also, in Halo 3, you are essentially pulling a slot machine handle on every trigger pull. Sometimes all three bullets will exist, sometimes two and sometimes only one. For some reason, Halo 3 refunds you back the bullets that didn't exist in your shot, thus you'll see your ammo counter go from say...three to five.

In Halo 2 Annv, this same thing is happening. So, no, it's not a result of me meleeing anyone in the middle of a shot, it's simply the game. I started noticing it more recently last night as I was hammering into a person and clearly after four headshots they were not dying, it took five or six, I was not missing shots.

The thing that really brought it to my attention was the sound of the game. The BR has been sounding inconsistent. When you fire the BR in H2A, you'll hear the "bang, bang, bang." However, sometimes you'll only hear two bangs or one bang...then I started watching my ammo counter and the damn thing changes back to a number on its own.

So, the image of the one bullet left was me simply firing my BR over and over and on the last two bursts I had left, I fired them as quick as I could and I was refunded a bullet back.

I guess the average person won't even notice this or pay any attention to it, most people in Halo 3 didn't even know it existed, they just played. I have a eye for attention to detail and this bothers me.

Stinkles, maybe you can chime in on this? Is this a P2P thing or is it a dedicated server thing, or is this simply the way you guys designed the netcode for the BR?

I really thought that H2A was hitscan on the BR, but it seems not so, each individual bullet within a three-round burst counts as a separate projectile.

I haven't been able to hop on since this update. Now that it's settled in, has it improved anything?

Many people are saying the matchmaking times are much quicker in certain playlists. BTB though still takes a long time to find players.

Personally, I've been finding quick matches in: H2A, Rumble Slayer, Halo 2 classic and Team Slayer.

Ugh... Game didn't acknowledge my run through Shutdown. Only been experiencing this with Halo 4, not the previous three.

Awesome. Sounds like I'm going to give DA:I a break tonight.

So I haven't bothered trying to matchmake since launch week. Should I jump back in now and try my luck?

Sounds decent enough to me.

Gonna try going through Shutdown again. I thought that when this happened back on the mission Infinity, I presumed it glitched because I may have saved & quit at one point. That's apparently not the case.

So there is seriously no dedicated Halo 4 playlist? Does 343 hate their own game? Also when are ranked halo 3 playlists arriving?
Once they sort out the matchmaking issues, I'm sure they'll be implementing and rotating playlists like these. Right now, they just want to give us a better chance of actually playing; limiting the playlists for the time being was a part of that reason, if I remember correctly.

Played again last night, with friends.

Had a game instantly go to the game over screen, but after pressing b and searching again everything was fine.

Still getting games fast. BTB games a little slower.

Had a BTB multi flag game on Containment and thought the nostalgia would smother me to death. Tons of fun. The BTB playlist is kind of what i wanted from this game: an obnoxious amount of variety. I haven't played on the same map once (in that playlist)
