So I bought this because I enjoy Halo enough, I've beaten the first and second games, but only played some of 3 and never touched 4. I'm curious -- How hard is Legendary difficulty really? What are the changes? Is it doable without intimate level knowledge and/or dying a whole bunch even if you're careful?

If not I'm probably just going to play these games on the normal/hard equivilent.

Super excited. As much as MS hates me (I'm the guy that got banned for playing Halo 4 early); I'm a sucker for Halo. I have eight PS4 games, and two for Xbox One... I pretty much purchased the latter specifically for Halo.

My best friend and I took tomorrow off - an entire day of Halo 2 in 1080p/60fps glory. Cannot wait. Easily in my Top Ten favorite games of all time - there isn't a gaming level more exhilarating than BTB 1-Bomb Assault on Headlong. It's pure gaming bliss.

Halo 2 multiplayer is, in my opinion, just about perfect. Sure, there are some glitches. And yeah, there's the occasionally unbalanced weapon combo or team advantage. But for all intents and purposes, it was a brilliant game released at a perfect time.

Spectacular online modes with phenomenal teamwork and a whole host of stat tracking. No party chat meant you actually SPOKE with your teammates; and most of them were actually cool. You could actually really join forces with other random players; and out-smarting the other team is how you won.

Pretty much my entire 9th and 10th grade years were spent playing this game. It was a favorite amongst all my friends... regularly hauling five or six TVs into my basement for awesome online matches where we played together against randoms. So good.

You got banned for playing early and it was a legit copy? That doesnt sound right.

Halo 2 legendary is a world of pain. The others aren't bad. Enemies hit harder and attack more accurately and aggressively. But the same strategies work on all difficulties, you just have to be more careful about each encounter as you ratchet up.

I always found H2 stupidly frustrating on legendary. I loved nearly every second of all other campaigns in the series. H2 feels off for some reason. Though it seems to get easier the further you go.

I can't *believe* these lazy developers keep making file sizes so damn large. Btw, how does technology work?

It's a long-winded explanation (there was a beefy thread here). Everyone has their sides. I've made peace with it - I don't think it was fair; but life's not fair and so I decided to move on. No need for me to bog this thread down with it.

EXCITED FOR SOME HALO MCC!

Got a tear in my eye reading that. To think that will all be playing Halo 2 online again in two hours and get to relive those memories.

I'm talking to friends that I haven't talked to In 8 years because of this game.

I've heard that it's not possible to go into H2A multiplayer with more than a party of four. That kinda sucks. I know it's ranked, but still. :-(

I think the combination of your story and seeing your set up with all the drinks, snacks etc. just put a smile on my face. I live far away from the many, many friends that I use to play with and unfortunately our timing to get together on Live is not looking good until sometime next week, but just wanted to say have a blast man. I am sure you and your buddy will have a lot of moments where you will remember 10 years ago! :)

Had the game since Saturday, finding a game takes forever.

Had a long day at work, Halo was on my mind all day. Got home a little while ago and I waited 20 minutes to play a rank game and gave up. Not sure if its still because not enough people have the game or if its some kind other issue...

Hopefully tomorrow things will be better.

Took me like 2 hours and 15 minutes or so to download the patch.

OK I'm dying here, seems like matchmaking isn't working. If anyone wants to play, I'm infinityBCRT on Xbox Live.

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?
I bought this even though I'm not really a fan of FPSs. The only Halo I've played was 3 and I didn't really know what was going on, plus I played it co-op so I was basically just tagging along. I am however a fan of sci-fi so I'm looking forward to getting into the lore.

The work Blur did helped sell me too, will be worth it for that eye candy alone.

Download is at about 60% after 6 hours of downloading so I guess I won't get to play it tonight.

I think I'm gonna take a nap for 30 minutes ~ 1 hour. I believe they will stream Nightfall before Halo 5 Beta, and I want to watch Nightfall with some popcorn at the weekend!

I've been playing halo 2 every single day since it came out. This is the best case scenario ever and Microsoft knew. I wonder what compelled them.

Also what does this mean for halo 2 vista? Is that going down?

I really hope I don't have to re-download my digital version like I did with AW. That would be to much for me to bear at this point.

This is awesome. I remember standing in line 10 years ago for Halo 2. Nothing but pure excitement. Now, as I lay on my bed next to my sleeping kid, I'm struck with the same excitement. Except this time, I can't wait to share it with him.

Next-Gen indeed:)
