Oh, baby, I'm back. First game in years with a blowout FFA victory and an overkill and killing frenzy.

The Dongening begins.

I just waited 20 minutes for a BTB game, only to find a match and then hear an awful humming noise and have the game crash on the load screen.

This night is fucked.

Can't believe I've had this game all day and can't play a match. As a matter of fact, I haven't been able to even join parties outside the first few hours.

Took a fucking week of for this shit too.

It could have been worse. The one game I found had 3 halo 4 maps to vote on. I'm waiving the white flag and hitting the sack. Good luck to you all.

Never mind. I'm an idiot. Only my disc installed in these past 4 hours. The patch is still installing. Don't think I'm going to get any game in. Utterly crap. Next time 343, finish the game before going gold. Don't add a mandatory 15+gb patch on launch day.

So wait, when you do matchmaking it's a mix of all the Halo games? Like it bounces back and forth between all their different features and physics and stuff?

In fairness to 343, the patched game is 59.2gb in size - Blu-Ray Disc has a maximum size of 50gb

Still no games since midnight. Wow what a fuckin ruined release for such an anticipated game and people making arrangements with friends.

Just wow. Couldn't fuck up a release this bad

Of course not, but it happens and it seems reasonable for the game to have server issues just hours into the launch. If these issues persist for days, that's a different discussion.

Not at all, but if you go in expecting massive online launches to be totally smooth straight away, you're just being foolish.

Sorry guys but i stopped accepting this excuse long ago. It's 2014, they pretty much know how many people will try the game and every fucking time, the server are not ready for such flow of people in their game.

Agreed but we're shown time and time again that a lot of big companies don't actually have this stuff down yet, so I'm only basing what I said on that. I won't argue that they should.

They finished The Game. The "patch" is a content patch, it contains 100 multiplayer maps etc.
Also, it is available since last week.
There's a critical bug fix in there too apparently.

Mission 8, Delta Halo, consistently crashed my entire Xbox One system loading the checkpoint right outside the temple (aka, after 90% of the level had been completed). I couldn’t even open up the Xbox One menu; it would eventually hard crash and shut off by itself.

The Day 1 patch offers some critical fixes across the board (including that Delta Halo bug), but it still doesn’t do much for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. Its troubles lie in the framerate (which is staggeringly bad when travelling in a vehicle and during cutscenes to the point of apparent “chugging” along), but also in odd instances of mixed-up visual efforts. For example, the design of orbital blasts of energy in the Anniversary Edition actually looks less detailed than its 2001 counterpart. They just look like a giant orb of energy, whereas the old edition featured two very distinct balls of energy. What’s even odder is that, at times, the textures on walls or objects in Halo: CE Anniversary look laughably worse than those from the past. Rare do these improvements look worse, but it does happen enough times to question how they got past quality assurance.
