Doing Halo CE co-op with a friend. Don't know where all the lag talk is coming from it seems perfect to me. I did get teleported while on a turret and it broke the map though

Sounds good. I like what I've played so far, although I think my sound set up is broken somehow. The music (which is great) is much louder than the talking.

Didn't do anything special but take it to work on a 500Mb down connection and got the game installed and running in a little under an hour. Was able to play one match on the Halo 3 playlist. Now I'm just stuck searching like everyone else.

The mix on the anniversaries seems really music oriented which make sit kinda loud. I wish we had in game sliders to adjust it.

Welp. . . my goal was to get the Life Story achievement on Day 1. Not gonna happen. I hit the opening cutscene on Halo 3 and it refuses to load. This just hurts. . .

EDIT: Sweet jesus, I went into the playlist options, turned on Time and it loaded. My goal is yet in my grasp!

Halo 2 remake..crushed blacks everywhere! I calibrated my TV and all my settings are correct now after talking to people on GAF..but it is really bad in the Halo 2 remake imho. my eyes become tired really fast with the new graphics.

do others have that feeling to?

I noticed some pretty heavy crushed blacks with H:CEA.

I'm gonna avoid halo 2 anniversary like the plague. I hate the markers for weapons, the grenade indicators and the weapon reticules. I'm digging Halo 2 classic. Love it. Does anyone agree with me on H2A? It just feels wrong. I don't even consider myself a purist.

Am playing this series for the 1st time ever! Already tested a couple of minutes every Halo here to see if theyre working fine. It seems they are.

Now I am playing Halo CE and WOW!! I think I'm in love already!
I wanna ask this already: Every Halo campaing has an amazing AI like Halo CE?? Because I dont remember a good enemy AI like this since F.E.A.R 1.

I'm playing it wih the original graphics cause I dont want to suffer the anniversary stuttering frame rate that people are relating. But I'm not really carying, the smoothy 60fps and 1080p resolution makes this game looks pretty good even with such old graphics; and most importantly, it plays amazingly well!

This morning I got up an hour early and started the H2A campaign. Before I could finish the first level, it mysteriously went to a loading screen for about a minute, and then kicked me back to the main menu. I had to start over. Then it happened again. So I said "fuck this shit" and went to work.

I've been playing halo 2 on pc every day since live went down on the original xbox. That being said I will always love playing the classic but I'm willing to deal with these changes so that I can enjoy it all over again.

for the most part the games have the same great A.I.,, although it isn't as noticeable in Halo 2/3 due to (Halo 2 story spoiler)
the lack of Elites as enemies (for the most part).
I'd say the closest game to Halo CE when it comes to A.I. is Halo Reach, due to (same Halo 2 spoiler)
the Elites being a primary enemy again.

If I do a hard reset it jumps back up to 6MB/s before slowly dropping back to 4-500 Kb/s. It's something to do with the download servers because when I do a network statistics on the X1 setting , it's saying my dl speed is 6+ MB/s even though the DL is struggling now.

Takes me about ten minutes to find a game then it's just a coin toss on whether or not that game will be broken as hell. I recorded a few clips of me teleporting around the map. Even one where it threw me underneath the map into space.

When it does work, I get reminded of how far removed I am from Halo 2. I try to sprint every time I respawn. I've had a couple betrayals from wayward grenades which is something I haven't had to worry about in games lately. Also, when your team sucks, you get CRUSHED. Going to have to find a group to play with like the old days.

Wait, you think it's hard to tell that Halo 2 and 3 have good AI? The heck?

The non-Elite enemies have some great behaviors that makes combat really interesting, particularly in Halo 3.

But I love fighting against Elites! Wort Wort Wort!

Yep. I was getting destroyed by Grunts until I changed the control scheme to old.


All the neat touches and extras are really nice. The encyclopaedia bits, and the menu music. CEA art looks better here than I remember. I haven't had any problems, but haven't bothered with online MP yet.

I know exactly what you mean. I vividly remember 3 BR shots to the head was enough to kill someone. Either the net code is borked or the hit detection.

that is the holy trinity. 3 shots to the head, the enemy drops dead.

seems I was wrong
It does reasonable damage to enemies, being able to kill most within a few bursts (normally four when enemy is fully shielded), and can easily land headshots on unshielded targets, resulting in a one-hit kill.

Same story here, around 30kbs. I'm stuck at 3% and my DL has stalled out at 18% twice. I even did a factory reset so its not my box/internet. This has just ruined my whole day. On the plus side its forcing me to write a paper I was going to blow off.

I used to be able to carry whole teams in this game even if they were crummy. Now? no way. it'd take me a solid week of real playing to get back into the swing of Halo. Not sure if i want to do that with this broken experience so far.

Only played Halo 1 so far but holy shit it finally clicked. All I ever played of Halo 1 was the stuttery weird PC version and I fully expected to never get why people loved this game so much. But now I can see it.

Also makes me sad thinking about Bungie/Destiny.

Cool to see someone new to the franchise playing this. The MCC seems (mostly) great for the campaigns. Halo AI has always been good.

As for multiplayer, unfortunately it's a bit shit right now. Hopefully they fix it soon so you can have a good experience. Stay away for the time being.

i'd recommend staying with campaign for a few days, let good players rank up so you don't deal with them.

Honestly I think I prefer the look of the old graphics... It doesn't have all the bells and whistles and it's definitely more ominous and dreary. I'm ignorant to the performance stuff but regardless I've been constantly switching back and forth because I can't make up my mind.


The AI is truly some of the greatest... I was mad disappointed with the AI in destiny
