r.i.p

i'm not well versed in his stuff but groundhog day is absolutely wonderful and inspires me to be a better person

He wasn't much of a household name outside of the US and Canada, but his influence is undeniable. Ghostbusters is one of the all-time classics as far as I'm concerned, same with Groundhog Day.

Yup, time to bust out the 'ol Ghostbusters DVD again.

I didn't know he was sick. Thought he was the driving force behind Ghostbusters 3, so him being unwell didn't even occur to me. :(

His life was like a Slinky. Full of potential and hilarious to watch unfold.

And sadly, he straightened it today.

RIP.

Rest in peace, Mr. Ramis. Your mastery of twinkie-based metaphors will never be forgotten, I promise.

I feel like I'm at this really weird time in my life where so many talented people are passing away...and so suddenly. Often it's those I grew up enjoying, and some I've only discovered recently.

Anyways, this is sad news, it'll be hard to fill those ghost busting shoes.

I've been meaning to rewatch Stripes lately, as well as Ghostbusters. May as well go for Caddyshack and Ghostbusters II at this point. Fuck, this is sad. We lost a great today, and like many other cases, it seems that it was not until his death that I realized how genius this man really was. All this time I had no idea of the work he did in St. Louis (my home town). Much respect.

Harold Ramis . . . great on-screen and even better off-screen writing.

Animal House, Groundhog Day . . . two genius movies right there written by Harold Ramis.

He also co-wrote the screenplay for Caddyshack and directed the film. And co-wrote Stripes. :(

That is sad. He was integral in more ways than one to perhaps my favorite movie growing up- Ghostbusters, and of course there's all the other great shit he did. RIP you hero of comedy.

I actually organize a group of ~40 Ghostbuster costumers that do the Boston St Patty's parade every year. We're marching for an animal shelter in Fitchburg, MA this year.

We're talking about all wearing black arm patches with "HR" on them this time around.

Two departed comedic stars.

Harold Ramis . . . great on-screen and even better off-screen writing.

Animal House, Groundhog Day . . . two genius movies right there written by Harold Ramis.

Harold also directed Groundhog Day. He's even on screen in one scene.
One of my favorite movies of all time.

Children of the '70s and very early '80s are going to have it rough over the next 10-15 years. RIP.
Rewatched Groundhog Day a couple months ago and it hasn't aged a day.

Quick, somebody initiate the GHD loop and he'll be back tomorrow morning, right?...

He will be missed. Also no way in hell I watch a Ghostbusters 3 without him involved in some fashion.

Wow, I come back from the office to this news.

What a horrible day. Caddyshack and Ghostbusters are two of my favorite flicks.

:(

'Do...'
'Ray...'
'Egon...'

RiP, I will give caddyshack a watch as I've never heard of it til now.
