I don't think PlayStation needed these games at all but it's happening so with it happening it brings up the question.
If you felt Xbox 360 was better than PS3 because of these games why wouldn't it be the same for PS5 when it also have these games?

I have a friend who's about to buy a 5090 and wants to sell me his 3080ti which had all the best components when he bought it 2 years ago.
How does this compare to the Pro? I could always buy a newer GPU at a later date assuming the CPU is still good. I'm assuming it still easily beats the Pro but I don't know for sure but it has much better CPU (i9?) and a lot more ram and of course dlss is much better than pssr ...
Im so unhappy with Sony and the Pro that I want to switch to PC gaming as a "fuck you" to Sony lol. I own and have tested almost every single notable game on Pro and despite what the fanboys on Neogaf want to believe the console has been a total dud.

As a current owner of 3080ti, its about 2x stronger from base ps5 gpu, ps5pr0 is up to 40% stronger, nuff said.

Just my 2 cents when I voted this generation the worst I only meant from a first party standpoint
I think in general for my tastes outside of Astrobot Sony's first party output has been horrible
I will say I think MS output has been very poor as well
But for me its just all about 1st party games

Feels exactly the same.
PS5 as a platform has been great, 60 fps standardization, dualsense, high speed ssd, all those are huge this generation.
But first party games, specifically PlayStation Studios output, has been a huge letdown to me. Demon's Souls and Returnal I really love, the rest is lukewarm.
It was hilarious in the SOP viewership thread that you were saying first party was not good while other Sony fans insist third-party reveals are great. You guys weren't even arguing the same thing.

Without a doubt the platform is great and I love the Pro and Edge controller
Just wish I had more 1st party games that I enjoyed and those may be coming with Ghost of Yotei, Death Stranding 2, Wolverine (If done right) and the Housemarque game but who knows how far off that one is

I particularly enjoy when the vaporware list is brought up. People pretend to know exactly what sony is doing.. while bluepoint is working on a fucking GoW gaas for how many years and is now canceled. Without question. I love the hardware and the dual sense is a GOAT-tier controller but Sony first party is a complete embarrassment. A handful of decent games this far in the generation is unacceptable.

That ATi tech demo is strongly reminiscent of Heavy Rain, so, yeah, I wouldn't mind going back to top-notch PS3 graphics, $50-60 MSRP and a more regular cadence of releases...
I see nothing wrong with this quality of graphics and if someone is bothered by cube maps, I guess it's possible to replace them with RT thanks to RTX Remix (free RTX mod/remaster, instead of paying Sony a hefty fee):
I'd say it depends on the price of that PC (must be a bargain since you're asking) and the electricity rates in your area.
3080 Ti is almost 2 times faster than 4060 (PS5 Pro baseline), it has 50% more VRAM, but it also has a higher TDP:

I agree with this and I would love it if I could play the games I wanted on this platform.. but chances are I'll play them on RPCS3 (which means Sony gets zero money from me).
It's OK if they no longer want my money, they should pander to former XBOX 360 gamers.
ps: I understand why many people hated the PS3 generation (difficult Cell programming, subpar controller), but for me software is No1.
I had the software I wanted on PS3 (Uncharted 2-3), despite the hardware lacking QoL features (DualSense >>> DualShock 3).
That's why for me the ideal combination would be PS5 hardware + PS3 MP remasters (Uncharted 2-3 MP, Killzone 2-3, Warhawk). It would give more incentive for engagement.
I don't understand why they have to remaster PS4 SP games (Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone), despite the fact we have PS5 BC. No love for MP games, despite the fact they want a successful GaaS? That's a huge contradiction, if you ask me.

If a fanboy like that is attacking their favourite brand that theyve shown years of allegiance to, it shows how the public perception is in a state of shifting. Sony need to get on top of this ASAP and nip it in the bud or its going to get worse.

PS1 Tons and tons of great games every single year came out. PS2 even more tons of games came out every single year, more sequels to PS1 games as well. PS3 didn't work out so great with it's core to core PowerPC IBM structure but still had some really great exclusive games from Sony related publisher groups. PS4 still tons of games from publishers and game makers, sequals, great games continued good. PS5 started out the first 3 years good sequals, but than came remasters, remaster, remaster, over and over and over, it was like what is new anymore, just remasters of remasters.

The PS4 has better game quality/quantity than the PS5 but the PS4 is the worst console they have released controller and feature wise. The PS5 controller and hardware is incredible and slightly edges it out because of that. Also, this conversation is somewhat unfair, especially when we are only probably 60% of the way through this gen and we probably have many upcoming bangers that will be released before the PS6 like the MGS1 remake, MGS3 remake, TLOU3, Ghost of Tsu 2, Spiderman 3 and more.

Ok I gotta respond to that because I disagree. Just understand this is my opinion and not an attack. I love the PS4 controller, to me it's the perfect size and the perfect triggers. The PS5 controller is the worst, it's too big for my hands. I'm not your average sized guy, I'm only 5 feet 3 inches tall, and for us short people the PS5 controller is just too big for us. Now if your someone of the 5 feet 10 inches and taller, I'm sure the PS5 controller could be great as you have bigger hands as well. But overall the PS5 is the biggest disapointment ever in Sony's history to me as I don't like the dualsense and there's been a big stall of great games, there hasn't been many big games at all.

Poll is not about how much money Sony makes but how people see PS5 compared to previous consoles (I know some of you are masturbating to sales numbers). People are mostly talking about "exclusives", in this category PS5 looks like shit compared to older brothers.

You're free to discuss the discontent within Gaf. It's well-known and nobody is denying it.
But it's also why Gaf usually turns out to be a joke, because more often than not some data or interview or report comes out and shows how much of an isolated bubble Gaf is, where people just like to create an echo-chamber.

GT7 and Helldivers 2 are a success and Destiny 2 is generating more than enough revenue.
Concord flopped. There are some cancellations, but we know absolutely nothing about then, so it's all speculation about these games.
(Except maybe Factions, which was put in the freezer as ND can't manage the project alongside Intergalactic)
So we'll have to wait and see how Marathon, FairGame$ and the Horizon will perform because one can really make a case either way.

Gaf is enclave of real hardcore gamers that consume single player games and "standard" multi player games mostly, ages 30-40-50+. Most of console users are casuals that play sports games, cod and GTA while most young people are playing gaas games (Fortnite, Minecraft etc.). Even Sony fanboys here are in super minority compared to most PS5 users, most of them fall into casuals category and don't give a fuck about console wars and shit like that - they just want to play new cod or FC with their friends.
