They will have a really hardtime selling me the ps6 at launch after I burned my money into a ps5pro for no reason whatsoever because the thirdparty are doing the bare minimal or even releasing worst patchs for it (im battling through a broken silent hill 2 pro patch because I got tired of waiting) and the first party games that should've utilized its power and justified my purchase of the console are nowhere to be seen.

Outside Bloodborne remake theres nothing sony can do at this moment for the first time since forever to sell me a playstation at launch.

people who only like the AAAA action-adventure Sony games, don't give a fuck about Astro Bot, Helldivers 2 or Tokon, have a irrational hatred against cross-gen, hate the idea of PS6 Portable, and worst of it, have Uncharted 2 as their favorite Sony game.

Oh me purchasing the Pro was a promise I made to my Son .. I struggled heavily with this decision and the most smart thing would have been to invest on a new PC.. but the timing with the GPU wasn't right and in the end I had a promise to keep.

Concord alone was $400M, imagine how many single player games they could have funded with that...

one, realistically.

If they had more european/JP studios under their fold then maybe that 400m would have gone a long way

No new games? Open Steam and search for all the games released in the last 30 days. Even if 95% of the games don't appeal to you, the other 5% could keep you busy for a very long time. I haven't looked this month, but I'm willing to bet that, like always, there are some real hidden gems there for every taste imaginable. And the best part, most of them can be played on a potato PC that costs less than a Switch 2.

This thread is about individual perspectives on PS generations. I don't think anyone here has said that the PS5 is the worst performing generation from a business perspective. That's not the topic at all.

My individual perspective is that factual and objective data from metrics posted shows that it isn't the worst generation ever because there's the biggest amount of people engaged, and in fact more engaged than ever.

And if we're there spending our time and money there is because we like it. If not we'd spend it somewhere else.

The nostalgia glasses (I say that being a guy who in the free time does preservation research stuff and makes museum exhibitions aboug gaming history) and our memory really distorts things with time and makes us remember things better than they were and make us forget lots of garbage that was there.
