Feels like ms has released more games on ps5 in the last 6 months than Sony has the entire generation.

Why would we count the second half of a gen for a company that is known for their second half strength when we can start judging 3 years before the next playstation? Can we get to the end of this gen before answering the question? What if we take out PS4's first party games from 2018-2020? No GoW, no Spider-Man, no Tsushima, no Last of Us 2, no Days Gone, no Death Stranding...how does the PS4 look then? Not very good.
Why are you so gay?Feels like ms has released more games on ps5 in the last 6 months than Sony has the entire generation.![]()

According to google, these are the first party PS5 games from Sony.

If you're comparing PlayStation to PlayStation every Xbox game is new to you so why wouldn't Gears & Forza count for PS5 vs the past generation of PlayStation?I don't usually count ports and remakes when counting why a gen is so amazing but alright
I'm a little surprised by all this PS3 talk. It was the generation that brought us these exclusives:
- Uncharted 1, 2, and 3
- The Last of Us
- Metal Gear Solid 4
- God of War III
- LittleBigPlanet and it's sequels
- Resistance 1, 2 and 3
- Killzone 2 and 3
- inFAMOUS 1 and 2
- Dark Souls
- Demon's Souls
- Journey
- Ni No Kuni
Me, too. And I did see it when it aired. Righteous.I am old enough to have seen that episode when it aired as I watched it all the time, my favorite show of the time
As far people knowing its meaning

This year:With Marathon looking bad, Fairgame$ looking in trouble, and Sony Bend losing 1/3rd of their staff, I don't think things are looking any better since I created this thread.

Since you created this thread this was announced and everyone talked about it. You decided to leave this out of your post (2026):

Probably stuff like Wolverine is coming next year and we'll see what else.

lmao...okay so we're just going to ignore potentially good games now? Shift the tragetory in what way? PS4 between its release in 2013 and Uncharted 4 in 2016 had only one actual +90 metacritic title: Bloodborne in 2015. PS5's first 4 years were better in every way and much more varied as well.We already knew about Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2 when this thread was created.
I don't think Marvel Tokon and Nioh 3 are exactly game changers that are going to shift the trajectory of the PS5.

All Sony's internal studios are working on PS5 games as we speak. Media Molecule, Sony Santa Monica (2 games), Naughty Dog (2 games), a new Gran Turismo game already on the way (remember last gen when you gone one a single main Gran Turismo title?), Bluepoint is also working on something for years. Forgot about Housemarque which will release Saros next year as well. Its predecessor is still considered by many one of the best PS5 games to date.
Y'all are just hating at this point. So now Nioh 3 and Marvel Tokon are irrelevant for this discussion, lmao. sure.
Selling and a quality platform experience isn't the same thing. PS5 just doesn't have as many exclusive bangers as previous gens. There is less reasons to buy a PS5 than there were a PS4. Gt7 and Astrobot are great! but that is not enough. Everything else that is great from Sony I can get on PC and that does lessen the overall PS5 experience for me.They're selling a shit ton. Can't be that bad.

PS5 gen, whatever you want to call it won't be remembered by anything Playstation. It will be remembered by Microsoft waving the white flag.No one said they're not going to be good games. But also you're insane if you think someone is going to go from thinking the PS5 gen is the worst in Playstation history to it suddenly being great because of fucking Marvel Tokon lol
Nearly 1,2000 people voted in this poll and the vast majority agree that the PS5 has been the worst. That's not "hating", that's just the reality of how people feel.
This generation I enjoyed Stellar blade, Ds1 Directors cut, SH2 remake, Astrobot, and Gt7 but not as many compared to Ps1 to ps3 era. Hopefully starting from DS: On the beach, which might be the game of the year, and onwards it will be different. Saros, Marvel tokon, and Wolverine will be the key next year.Selling and a quality platform experience isn't the same thing. PS5 just doesn't have as many exclusive bangers as previous gens. Barring a couple early cross gen games also on PS4, they've literally had every single internal studio working on now canceled live service games for this entire generation, of course it's their worse generation, bar none. When their new games finally come out 4+ years from now, they'll be cross gen PS6 games

They don't have to do shit, PS sells anyways. They have until ps6 is announced to wow and justify ps fans.
They are selling basically because there is no alternative for those that don't want to move to PC.They're selling a shit ton. Can't be that bad.
Even if Nintendo had all 3rd party games, all gamers with standards would still want to go for the better fps and graphics. They are selling basically because there is no alternative for those that don't want to move to PC.
Xbox is a dead platform and Nintendo doesn't have big 3rd party games.

Its basically the only option for "high end" console gaming in the market and its a good piece of hardware ... how would not sell well when xbox went third party, has become a "stick" for third party hardware and their X console cant barely be found outhere ?They're selling a shit ton. Can't be that bad.
Sony Studios became irrelevant for me when they shutdown all AA studios (we all know Team Asobi was allowed to remain alive because Sony needed a mascot and Astro Bot got good reviews) (for now...).One second party multiplat, one third party multiplat and one first party exclusive we already knew about ...
Awsome
Its the worst gen by a land mile for sony first party (owned) studios.
Its over ...they will not recover this gen if it ends by 28. The gaas strategy fucked up everything... maybe they can recover for the next if the strategy and manegement over their studios change.. time will tell
And again .. throwing second/third party games specially the ones coming out on PC its screaming into the void.
The thread was obviously created to evaluate the first party output by sony studios (first party owned studios) .. anyone still trying to defend this gen is xbox fanboy levels of shill and delusional.
If they stretch thia gen to say 2030 maybe things will look brighter in the end like ps3 did... but I aint holding my breath or sucking their dick for fucking up with their gaas nonsense
Well Sony think it can compete with PC solely on "people will always buy playstations" basis ... its a bold strategy lets see if it pans out for them. It didnt work for MS though, for now they are clearly banking and riding on the monopoly MS handed them on a silver plate.Sony Studios became irrelevant for me when they shutdown all AA studios (we all know Team Asobi was allowed to remain alive because Sony needed a mascot and Astro Bot got good reviews) (for now...).

Do PC counts? Because their PC initiative is still successful with Stellar Blade
Selling hardware is not the problem it is selling ps software vs other 3rd parties. They don't have to do shit, PS sells anyways.
Sony makes most of their money with 3rd party software. The main reason for first party was to get an advantage over Xbox. Those high budget projects were always riscs, one flop and much money is wasted. 3rd party is no risc at all, they'll always get their 30%. I rather think without Xbox we'll see less of those 300-400m projects, because there is no reason.Selling hardware is not the problem it is selling ps software vs other 3rd parties.
Xbox will still be around as they are shedding hardware to oem and focusing on software. Msft focusing on software is not a good thing considering the ability to unleash remakes in ue5 (oblivion/halo/ect..).Sony makes most of their money with 3rd party software. Xbox will just be a name, but no competition on the hardware market. Next gen will be interesting for sure, maybe Sony does day1 pc. Good point, their PC initiative has been really solid.
There is no monopoly. If Sony keeps this lackadaisical approach, someone will take advantage. However, I just can't see dedicated consoles being around in 15 years. The concept is stupid to the younger generation.Well Sony think it can compete with PC solely on "people will always buy playstations" basis ... its a bold strategy lets see if it pans out for them. Can y'all stop saying Xbox is a dead platform? Thank you.
People have being killing consoles since forever, and yet Nintendo just bursted sales records trough the roof ... and no its not because "its portable" since I dont see people playing this things in the open anywhere and I also dont see this portables PC selling even close to the switch .... its brand recognition + exclusive gaming + easy of use and people will always be attracted to this. Young generations are now on mobile, soon they will grow up and move to other devices since gaming is always going to be there. My son is on mobile mostly but asked me for a ps5 and has been moving on to it as time passes. I dont see a lot of 20 years old playing fortnite all day on a 5 inch screen. There is no monopoly. If Sony keeps this lackadaisical approach, someone will take advantage. However, I just can't see dedicated consoles being around in 15 years. The concept is stupid to the younger generation.
Its not dead.. its more like a zombieCan y'all stop saying Xbox is a dead platform? Thank you.
