Hawt Too Human Screens

Because graphics alone make a good game? Lair?

I agree. Lair was a prime example of the concept over reaching the actual game itself.

pswii60 said:
Besides Busty, I hope this game ends up really really good, because the concept was just so damn great.

I really liked the original trailer's (CGI) pacing and reveal.

"...a God who is both.." and then the 'pull out across the Galaxy was cool.

But this game (for a $20 million + budget) is a total joke. As a fan of Eternal Darkness I was looking forward to see what the tens of millions that MS is/was pumping into SK would buy.

And evidently, it doesn't buy that much. I can't see how anyone in MS would be happy with what SK have done for the moeny they've spent.

IMHO, of course.

And because you haven't got an Xbox 360 to play it on.

Ummmm, a strange thing to take pleasure from, but you have it at sweetheart.

some of you guys are insane. ever since super mario galaxy i've been wondering where games with good art-direction were. i mean, you can push millions of polygons at once and use all the latest technical trickery to make the game impressive on a technical level, but that's just that -- on a technical level, but all that doesn't matter when the art-direction in your game isn't on the same level. combine the stunning visuals and almost surreal art-direction and you've got a got that's perhaps the most beautiful game i've ever seen. honestly, i'm more impressed by this then by crysis.

not only the way it looks is impressive, but these guys are also doing impressive things with the gameplay. i think it'll be the best combination of action elements and rpg elements we've never seen in any other game.

i'm definitely buying too human when i get my 360. haters will eat crow come 2008.

it'll be goty 2008. you can quote me on this.

How do you know it's a "total joke"? Because of a few shitty screens?

What if this game ends up being AAA? Of course, it might be a "total joke" in the end, but until the reviews come out and we can determine if the final product is a commercial success, that statement is completely unfounded.

In that respect you are correct. It could turn around and be a really solid game. However, as far as it's development has gone I can't think of another game that's had such a ludicrous, PR disaster ridden, development history.

- 'That' disastarous E3 trailer.

- The SK and EPIC lawsuit.

- Dyack mini podcast melt down.

So, yeah it might be good. Really good. But I seriously doubt it will ever shake it's wretched history.

The anihawk position in this forum has been already filled.

These must be like the worst screenshots I've seen from this game.

Bookmarked. I still believe in Too Human, but this statement will never become fact.

I bet Banjo 3 has a better chance at being Goty 2008 and probably Alan Wake. Too Human never.

Media will get hands on in October. It won't be long now and we'll see how Too Human is shaping up.

Really wish they'd stop relying on IGN though. They really do downgrade all of their media. At least it'd be nice to see the shots get official site releases a little after so we could see what they really look like.

Pfff. Come off it, the art is as terrible as the texture quality.

I haven't exactly read up on what this game is all about, but in gameplay, it seemed similar to Devil May Cry. But it doesn't even come close to that in terms of polish and animation. Take Ninja Gaiden for instance, that game transcends being a mere videogame and manages to convey a feeling of being able to move like an actual ninja, it's fucking perfect.

The gameplay vids, the terrible screens, the UT rip-off art direction... Let's just say I need some more convincing. I think that's entirely reasonable.

Not funny, not original, overused by you in every other thread.

Well I for one would like to see this game turn out decently.

I LIKE Silicon Knights. Have owned and enjoyed Blood Omen and Eternal Darkness.

I LIKE the art and setting.

I LIKE the idea of a more action oriented Diablo clone.

They have probably fucked it up beyond repair at this point, however. Game is going to live or die on the demo, I think.

As usual, another Too Human/SK thread that is little on content and lots on hate/vitriol. This thread is no exception. If you're a company that used to develop for Nintendo and now don't you can expect to be hated on by the endless Nintendo hordes.
Carry on.

Eternal Darkness and MGS: Twin Snakes were not bad games, you can say they were average or whatever but to say they are no good is crossing the line of general acceptability into GAF irrational hatred land

Yep, you are right, I preach the same shit. *I* didnt like their games, doesnt mean they are bad developers, as those games scored pretty well

There will a feast of crow when this game comes out. Unlike gaf who considers animation and art direction as the ultimate criteria to judge a game by, everyone else will be looking at what the game offers and how well it does what it sets out to do. I predict mid-8s and 9s all around for Too Human. This will be the Crackdown of 2008.

Most of this 'hate' is based on how hard these games suck. Perfect Dark Zero was no Goldeneye for instance.

I dunno, there's hardly any Nintendo people in here. It's almost wall-to-wall 360 fans. Just a lot of SK hate in general.

I for one hope this turns out great, and as I said earlier in the thread I really like the design and imagination I've seen in parts of the game. Legacy of Kain and ED were both pretty good (although story was the strong points) so I think in between the banter they have some ability and may pull off a really good game.

my only stipulation is this. Microsoft funded SK to make Too Human a trilogy...something along the lines of 100 million i heard?

But here we are in 2007 and the game hasn't been released yet, and its the first in the trilogy....how long are we going to wait to complete the trilogy? Will it be finished on the 360 or we will have to wait until Microsoft's next system?

50 million. Which when you think about some other games that alone has cost half of that it ain't such a bad deal.

History would tell us that it is completely unrealistic to expect SK will release all three games on the 360 since they seem to release a game about once every three years on average. That said, we don't know how far they are along with elements of the other two games and obviously many things are up and running now that the first game is nearing completion.

Certainly story, engine, art design and art assets would all have some reasonable progress made in terms of the other games.

This game used to interest me, but then Dyack released that trailer. Now every screen shot I see makes me remember how un-dynamic and dull the trailer was. You can't do an action game like this if you can't get the flow and movement right, and every shot I see looks like the main character is standing around while slow moving monsters stroll toward him. Maybe this is not the case, but I've gone from booster to serious doubter on this one, and it's got nothing to do with the lawsuit or Dyack being a whiny bitch, it's got to do with how boring and bland this game continues to look.

It thought it was $75 million? Roughly $25 million a piece. All I know is it was really, really expensive.

More than anything, the combat needs to look wilder. More berserker like. This digital looking combat may work beautifully in other settings, but if they are going to base this on a mythology that is directly linked to berserker culture then the combat should probably look the part.

You mean the trailer where Baldur fights the boss? I think we spoke about this already, but yeah, that was awkard.

They really need to get that side of things improved in all ways - timing, angles and animation.

Taking a step back and looking at all that (plus the fact that this game has been in development since ps1)... I think your right.
I hadn't really thought about all that together before. I really dont know what to think about this game anymore.

Lol. If thats true Ms got robbed. I don't know where but I read it was 50 somewhere though.

I absolutely love the posters who don't give cent about the game or the platform this game is heading to, come here to trash it to the ground, and that's just hilarious because they cry like babies when someone does that to games on their platform of preference, crying about sleeping mods.

What's funnier, and probably the funniest, is how they manage to actually bring retarded arguments like MS droping this game and the game becoming multiplatform, when Sony didn't drop games that are basically a piece of shit, and allways were a piece of shit, but oh no...Too human looks worse *rollseyes*, and not also that but they actually use this thread to trash other games, which is unbelievable btw, they manage to trash Mass Effect in a thread about Too Human, like whoa.

Seriously congrats, and apparently the MOds get a kick out of it, at least it works like that for games they don't give 2 cents about, i wonder what happens when they actually care about the game, then....oh, then the hammer drops.

Man, you are way to sensitive.

And don't try to be a backseat mod and don't question mods doings like ever again.

(you can thank me later for saving your sorry ass from bannage)

Pff, they can do whatever they want. If they want to hit on the little guy so be it.
It's not about being sensitive, just that saw in this thread what made me stop posting in here for a long time.
That phoenix guy for example trashes non Ps3 games in like every thread he posts in, it's hilarious, sometimes it's so out of place that its really impressive. Heh whatever, if you don't like it then leave right? That's the thing.

Trash away, may your egos be filled with enough confidence to spend the almighty $ on a piece of trash like LAir. *waves hat*
I'm leaving ,on a, BanHammer,
