One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Hey guys.

Anyone remember Zoo?

Anyone?

Oh... okay.

There will always be an entry level aggro deck as long as Blizzard concentrates card quality in high mana cost, high rarity cards. The sooner you accept this the better time you'll have in this game.

Oh... okay.

Of course. That deck that Reynad created by himself and definitely didn't exist before him and he just changed a card around and said it was his.

I heard no one plays it anymore because of the Soulfire nerf, a feat Reynad attributes to himself as well.

Since I don't have enough cards for Handlock, when I have to run Warlock quests, I just play value zoo these days.

Basically it's a similar concept to zoo, but you just use lower cost high-value cards and try to win with standard value trades and otherwise hitting them in the face.

It's not an amazing deck certainly, but it gets the daily done.

needs to show more effort.
Mech mage is definitely less annoying than hunter in its prime. Hunter opened with aggro and then punished you for playing cards. It was a nightmare.

Zoo is still good but no one plays it much anymore because its an actually fair deck. It builds its curve low enough to guarantee a good start and then plays the hearthstone game of creatures killing creatures efficiently. I don't mind playing against it in the slightest because everything about it just feels... fair.

Mech mage like undertaker hunter before it is just about trying to mulligan into a god hand and go face basically turning the game into a few dice rolls rather than creature battles. And that is what I hate about it. But at least it isn't *as* bad as undertaker hunter or buzzard unleash hunter. There is always going to be a mindless aggro deck of choice and if mech mage is the worst we have that I think that is fine.

You can defiantly deal with mech mage assuming you don't get a terrible opener and they get their dream, and as far as the cancers go it's definitely one of the more tame ones, it's nice that it's not near as prevalent as it was 1 or 2 weeks ago.

I also believe that right now there are more viable decks available and being used than ever before. I'm still kinda messing around in ranks 11-15, but the variations I'm seeing (and occasionally) working are pretty great. It makes me want to open my mech warrior deck back up and try to get it working again...well almost.

When people talk about hunter in their prime... are they referring to 1 mana UTH OTK hunter? Are they referring to 2 mana uth/buz hunter (aka sunshine)? Are they talking about post naxx beast/2mana buzz? Are they talking about deathrattle aggro w/ pre-nerf UT hunter?

sunshine - the 2 mana UTH + 2 mana buzzard pre naxx was most broken imo, but the hunter that came after naxxramas even with 3 mana uth was about as strong but more consistent (maybe even stronger I guess due to mad scientist)

Was Hunter ever really not in its prime?

Amaz feign death hunter is really fun to play, only downside is mech mage, but versus control its surprisingly awesome, feign death sylvanas or sneeds has the potential to ruin games for the opponent even if they are ahead.

V aggro though you never get to that position.

I hope Reynad invents Mech Mage so he can get Mech Mage nerfed.

Praise Reynad!

I think I have most of the cards required to rock a Handlock deck. Twilight Drakes, Sunfury protector and the other create-taunt/1+1 Rare, Jaraxxus, Mountain Giants, two of every warlock class removal (implosion, siphon soul, darkbomb, etc). No Molten Giants though. :(

Viable?

You need those giants, or else Paladin and Mage is going to walk all over you.

It'll be playable but far from optimal.

Aggro serves an important function in the game, its just shitty as shit to lose to, you cant have a game all about control.

The real shitty thing about aggro is that when you try to ladder everyone and their mother is playing it and you will lose to curve even if you build an anti aggro deck sometimes.

Priest thoughtsteals Sylvanas while I've got a 5/10 taunt up. Ugh. His shitty deck saved by my fucking cards.

Oh, the other card he stole from me that he played after getting my now 5/5 taunt? Sneeds. Fml

So I don't frequent the hearthstone reddit, but there is an accusation from a former teammate of magicamy's, who was on magicamy's team before tempostorm, claiming that she is just not exactly being honest in who she is. He says she is claiming to just be the face of magicamy and that in reality someone else plays the game for her.

http://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/2wbpzv/is_magicamy_real_from_former_teammate_and_a_hs/

There isn't really anything to support this accusation, however, but it is an interesting read.

Thoughtsteal really does feel like it disproportionately nabs epics or legendaries. At worst, I get a solid couple of rares. Ditto for Unstable Portal. In several months, I can count on one hand the number of times I've gotten crappy commons from them.

I hope he thought steals nothing but zombie chows from now until eternity

lol, zombie chows aren't so bad, a couple chows + Auchenai Soulpriest + CoH.

There's really nothing better than playing Priest and nabbing a legendary or two with thought steal. I know I occasionally get mad I get about Priest stealing my shit, but knowing how some of their moves really gets under the opponents skin it's one of the things that make them so enjoyable to play.

They really are a joy to play when things work out decently. More often than not, lately, however, I'm stuck with no offensive at all. Whatever meagre minions I put out (Cleric, Cultist, Blademasters, etc) are promptly chomped up by removals and board clears. So I end up needing to rely heavily on my own removals to stop their aggro, but those never seem to come in time.

I might have to modify the deck and get some more card draw in there or something. Opponents tend to be wise to how awesome Clerics can be and wipe them out fast, except in dream situations where I can drop one and CoH a board that's just been Pyro'd for 1 damage, or otherwise hit plenty of targets. Rarely seems to happen.

Some guy who found this all out just said on FOrsen's stream they've (whoever magicamy is) got $5000 from Reynad, or rather scammed him out of it haha

Brian "Brian Kibler" Kibler of Brian Kibler Gaming has become my favourite streamer. Guy is laid back and entertaining and isn't shouting and screaming all the time.

He is basically Kripp without the sodium overdose every 5 minutes, and I really enjoy Kripp's YouTube vids (I'm not around when he streams except if I have the day off).

Magicamy is a pro hearthstone player hired into tempostorm a few months ago. She was previously on a team called team magicamy, which specialist (the reddit thread creator) was a part of. I think she won ESL legendary series against trump and was invited to the finals of the series which is an offline event but today announced that she could not go because of personal reasons. It was also pretty much an all paid vacation to california to participate in the event so it wasn't likely due to monetary reasons.

I like watching Kibler, but StrifeCro is by far my favorite streamer. He's also really laid back, and is the most insightful streamer I've seen. He keeps his stream focused on the game rather than a personality. I like Lifecoach for similar reasons, but I don't watch him nearly as much.

I also enjoy Kripp's youtube vids a lot more than his actual stream. Kibler and Trump both have generally enjoyable streams that I'll watch if I need a fix and StrifeCro isn't streaming/I've caught up on his recordings.

Hafu is my favorite arena streamer by far, but recently it has seemed like she's only playing Hearthstone because she feels pressure to do so, and that's made her stream borderline intolerable. She's still a ridiculously good player and runs an entertaining stream.

So I probably have ~200 hours logged into this game and have never once gotten a legendary in a pack. My friend just started playing like two weeks ago (though I'm sure he has over 100 hours logge in) and has gotten 3 already, the last of which was freaking golden. Am I just incredibly unlucky or is he super lucky?

By the way, we have never paid any money.

How many packs opened is the real number you want, Not time played. I think the average is 1 legend per 40 packs. Obvious there can be high variance for the individual but from what I've seen that is the average.

I seem to average about 1 Legendary per 30! A little lucky that way I guess. =/

So far, I've also opened two dupes that I had already - Nat Pagle and Millhouse Manastorm (Millhouse was dusted both times, lol).

No golden legendaries yet. Meanwhile, my friend who just started playing two weeks ago landed a Golden Sneed's on his like, 20th pack. Go figure.

The thing with Kripp's streams is that you don't watch them, you search for the archives and put them on the second monitor while you do something else. That way you can skip whenever someone else is with him on mumble (ALL of his friends are idiots), or when nothing is happening. And they last forever so you'll never run out of something to watch.

His YT videos are fun and sometimes informative, but every now and then you just want the noise and watch some random plays. And he doesn't talk much either, so he'll hardly annoy you with screeches like Amaz does for example.

Anyone read this MagicAmy stuff? Took a look at it and its all a bit surreal, some guy posted a ton of "evidence" which im not sure I should link, raises questions at the very least.

How do you tolerate his stream? I wanted to gouge my ears out just watching that legendary rage clip.

He does tend to be somewhat of a douche on occasion, but he's the best streamer I've watched when it comes to motivate his plays and implications for future turns, and I've watched a lot. I like his music as well.

He has a fairly aggressive arena-style, but I'd easily equate him to the top arena-streamers in terms of skill. Hafu might edge him slightly, but that's about it.

Is Mal'Ganis a candidate for nerf? I have two of them, and i wonder if i should dust one,or wait a bit and see if it gets a nerf.

Not anytime soon, it feels very balanced. Given the fact that they haven't even touched Dr. Balanced and probably won't until the next content drop, I'd dust it.

The main reason I don't watch his streams is because he never stops complaining. He seems like a nice enough guy, but as far as Kripp is concerned, he's always a victim.
