Cris off of liquid
Cris said:Well this time it's me, One player decided to leave the team and I ended up getting benched. I have pretty mixed feelings right now, I was really looking forward to start practicing again, so getting that told today obviously hurt. Not quite sure what is next now for me. I will be looking for a new team and stream under Team Liquid until I find a new one. I'm still really motivated and still enjoy the game a lot, which means I don't quite plan to quit yet.
Thanks for supporting me and Team Liquid and I hope that some of you will keep supporting me in the future aswell <3
This sounds actually not badWell designed talent trees have a wealth of possibilities, and should not only be designed to vary based on the game, personal preference and power level, but they should change the way that the Hero is played. All but two of Medic's talents do not change the way the Hero is played at all, and even those talents (GRENADE IMPACT and Second Opinion) are not taken every game, and represent a minor change in gameplay. To understand why Medic's talents are lacklustre, we need to look at her kit.
1: Safeguard
D: Caduceus Reactor
Q: Healing Beam
W: Stim Drone (obviously vastly reduced cooldown and effectiveness)
E: Displacement Grenade
R1: ?
R2: Medivac
It wasn't that bad for us, we had figured it out pretty quick. But the QQ on Reddit and even in thread was pretty huge. People didn't realize they needed to soak all 3 lanes on that first Punisher and they were just getting teamwiped by it and then down building exp + kill exp + lost soak.
Global heroes like falstad, bw, are going to become so much more sought after with this mount speed nerf. As if they weren't already.
In a way this could be a huge Lunara buff since she was one of the only non mount characters who didn't receive a speed nerf and still retains her 20% movement bonus.......
I'd like this to mean more Dehaka too, but I'm not super optimistic about it.
nah the issue was that people got killed by the punisher outside the gate. Myself included.
People still don't get it nowadays at times and the map is still fine.
i think in ptr in particular a lot of ppl were grouping to defend it and then getting wiped out by it because theyd stand on top of each other lol
and then like alur is saying theyd get even further behind because they think grouping as 5 in the early game can ever be a good idea
Also there's no way it's as strong as it was back then. It did so much damage. You can now be jumped on without getting insta gibbed by it.
John DeShazer said:We've also had some interesting user experiences. When we first launched Infernal Shrines, that was kind of a rocky start. We learned pretty quickly that we need to be very careful with the balance numbers when we first launch them. Because the [new battlegrounds] are a little different, we kind of need to ease players into it.
The funny part about Infernal Shrines is the balance of that battleground is now the same as it was at launch. At the start players hated it so we brought it down, and then we slowly tweaked the numbers back up to be equal to the balance at launch. It was an interesting thing, like maybe we should do that at the start to begin with now.
Reddit called him out on that, he's straight up wrong. The minion changes alone are different.

First off before I begin (relatively sad surreal post) good stuff to everyone at pax, kill it and have fun!! Hope y'all have a great experienxe
Monday night after scrims my team and I were about to play PTR when I heard very angry knocking at the front door. Now my mom and step dad party a lot so I assumed it was just my step dad and his friends getting into a drunk debacle but something was off. I heard the door open and I just heard thumping and shouting.
Being confused I leave my room ready to break up a drunken ramble but instead see my front door open, my mom and her friend saying stop, two dudes by the door, and another dude wailing on my step dad. Blood was going everywhere and I was hella confused. My first decision was to jump on the guy, put my arms around his neck, pull down and start choking the shit out of him. The dudes by the door immediately stare at me and told me to let go. It looked like he was pulling a weapon out so I did and the guy I choked proceeded to hit my step dad. Dudes by the door was like come on bro lets go while the dude hitting my step dad was like he disrespected he touched me dog fuck this guy.
My step dads head was bouncing off the ground and shit and my mom tried to call the cops but onw bul pushed her and took the phone. It was at this point the dude got off my step dad, picked up a 2x4 and hit my step dad with it once, he stopped, ran into the kitchen where I retreated, repeated what he said before and said IMA bring my boy and shoot all of y'all fuck y'all then threw the 2x4 near me and ran out my house with His boys.
I don't know why I didn't call the cops immediately as soon as I got out my room or didn't help better but I'm scared to even be home. I'm currently out of state at my girls place and been drinking to remedy the constant images of my step Dads head bouncing off the floor.
My step dad is okay, he lost a lot of blood and his nose is broken but he's okay. Life is crazy pwople, and not being able to go home and feel safe feels uneasy. Please if you're religious keep me in your prayers, if you're a friend think of me. I'll keep y'all updated with my shit. Thanks for reading.

Maybe my parents aren't so bad after all.
Mages aren't really the thing they used to be right now, Proven. Jaina and Li-Ming are good, sure, but there shouldn't be anyone flaming you if you pick someone like Falstad or Lunara or Thrall or what have you.
As for a small stable of heroes, that's definitely doable. Milly has always had his 3-5 that he played the majority of the time (mage lyfe OP). It depends on what 3-5 it is, though, and being a Sgt. Hammer main in HOTS is like being a Hanzo or Widow main in OW. Nothing but sadness for you whenever you lock that hero in and the team sees it.
EDIT: Hammer does have the third highest winrate in HL right now though.
That's a fair point. If they pared down the any size fits all heroes and released only niche heroes then it wouldn't feel as bad.
As it stands, they their "best all around" heroes early in the development cycle (ETC, Muradin for tanks. Rehgar, Uther for heals and so forth) and nothing that isn't similarly well rounded can displace them from "nearly always a good pick" category.
Leoric is in a good spot right now whenever you see the opposing team having a couple players with bad escapes go for it and Entomb the shit out of them.
He's really good in the early laning phase which is about to be heavily emphasized with the next patch.
All that's lacking to make Leoric insane again is just to slightly buff his waveclear.
Sonya has 1 CC in her base kit and another available as her Ult. She's in a great spot right now as long as your team doesn't think Warrior = tank. She's especially broken on BoE.
Her waveclear is good her burst and single target dps great and she's sustained in lane completely.
My issue with HotS right now is how much is "if they have this, then it's a good idea to play that. Otherwise don't touch it." I just want to chill with my favorite heroes and progress and the main form of progression for me at this point would be ranked play. So the only way I could be happy is if more of my favorite heroes and playstyles were better more often, but I know that for the health of this game as a MOBA that Blizzard is better off going in the opposite direction.
Maybe if I just pushed myself through the hump, focused on how/where each of my favorite heroes are at their best, and get enough of a stable that I can play in a majority of situations and then just grit my teeth for the handful of times leftover, I'll be happy. But half the time I just want to give up and play a different game instead, despite how much I love some of the character mechanics and different maps in this game.
Anyway, thanks for hearing me out and giving me suggestions to not just be a melodramatic sourpuss.
I'd like to see more heroes with synergy in their kits that promotes a play style. Overwatch heroes are the best examples of this - except maybe Widowmaker's mine lols.
For example:
- Kerrigan can W>E>R and Q at the start or finish, all the while building up her trait
- Medivh can Z to close in/escape, Q on short cooldown while weaving in and out with E and W
- The Butcher can R>E>Q>W to close in, body block, slow, and brand. Both of his heroics complement his combo
- Alarak! can R/W>Q>E>R/W to stick to/manipulate targets
- Even Lunara can AA/Q/R>W and stick to targets with her increased move speed. Wisp has no synergy with the rest of her kit though
- Kharazim with Insight
- Illidan
- Sonya?
Compare that to these heroes whose abilities have little-to-no synergy:
- Jaina can...R>E>W>Q... cc, damage, damage and more damage. The only synergy is with her trait chilling targets for...bonus damage.
- Tychus
- Falstad
- Johanna, except maybe W>Q to almost clear a minion wave...
- Brightwing - can kinda have synergy through talents like old Z build and new CDR build on her trait
- Uther
- Rehgar
- Morales
Kael'Thas is somewhere in between. I kinda liked his W>E>Q combo but it doesn't seem as important anymore?
This may not make as much sense for support/utility heroes as they're mostly dependent on other heroes.
I realize that some of these heroes are considered to be powerful but that's usually, only because of certain aspects of their kit (e.g. Falstad's global flight and mighty gust).
Literally, Alur. I chose Li-Ming one game cause I love her and wanted to ruin someone's day. It was followed up with: y, y, y, y, y, y, y, y, y? Li-Ming didn't even get buffed did she? Y, y, y, y, y, y,
Whoa mid-ptr balancing is kind of unprecedented for heroes isnt it?
