9/10 placements for TL.

Games were pretty fun all around, though there were a few where some mood killers found their way on to the team. When your guy who 2nd picked tracer completely blind into the other team starts complaining about the Morales at minute 3 (that he was lucky enough that they picked! They were doing us a favour with that! She's your target, man!) you know you have problems.

Or the classic "two random guys who can't let go of their egos for 2 seconds and instead bicker about everything".

Other then that they were fun. Assemble TL teams from the chat at your own peril!

According to glau the illidan in the last game was really just to eat a bunch of CDs so the rest of the team can win the fight afterwards. Which actually happened but would be a weird strat, he also just wanted to play illidan.

Yeah it made no sense why he'd switch off Dehaka for the last game. I doubt they stay in after the 6 month check either way.

How does relegation work anyway? They got in once and now have months to improve while getting paid for it, barring roster splits I don't see a reason they'd not make it against the same field as yesterday.

these 8 teams will play for 6 months and the bottom 2 will face whatever teams that come up again through qualifiers to keep or lose their spot. correct me if I'm wrong but I believe money is only paid to the teams that stay in for the whole year..?

No you just only get paid if you stay.

they get a salary which is per month, the salary just adds up to 100k per team if they stay in the league the whole year.

Did chu ever come out and say why he decided to try competitive again? Everything I heard was streaming was good enough and hell, he definitely makes plenty there. Regardless, I'm happy as hell for him. By far my most favorite streamer/personality in the scene.

I can only piece together stuff that he has said on his stream. I think the stuff about his family/depression is well known. He currently has just under 900 subs so that plus donations is his living wages - for sure decent enough for streaming. He hadn't tried to go pro again because he hates how his schedule basically becomes 8 hours of scrims a day and then, if he actually wants to stream for fun, he has to again play the same game. This is basically the same reason every streamer gives, as I think Mewn and Glaurung said similar things. But, again like a lot of other people, the format of the system makes it easy to stay at home and get paid to be a high level HL player..so why not.

He was even joking on his stream today that he already regrets making HGC because he really doesn't want to scrim. And you can tell he's joking..but not. What always surprised me though was how he immediately streams after being done playing his HGC games. I'm assuming the players he's with now just understand that they..won't take it as seriously as a team like Dignitas? Basically if they're number 8, does it matter if they still get paid?

Again, from just what he's said over the weeks.

Thats fine but it doesnt exactly mean you have to feed lol
Of course just relaying what he said on stream as that was a peculiar comp. How often do you see Illidan picked with just a Malfurion, no solo tank, no support warrior and no support specialist. Slight tangent but how awesome is it that each of those has multiple options nowadays.

Malf, Illidan, Tychus, Dehaka, Li Ming is not a comp that should work but it totally did.

I thought the comp was aight + they were in general more skilled than the other team at fighting, but i do like how chu's heroes make cool comps, lots of tyrande, medivh, and hammer lol. The way glau is describing what he wants to do w/ illi is how every illi is played, hes basically an offtank

There a great fan illi game from a couple of months ago when he was on nvt, where he had no protection and did the same thing but he was a bit more savvy about it than glau, it was on boe i think?

___
This is my rating for na based off of feel

Nvt
Aa
Gfe
No tom
Denial
Gj/dts/chu

But nvt was playing so weird during the quals so i dunno, and it's all pretty much dependent on the practice schedule from now until opening week

Played some spider build Nazeebo this morning. I honestly cannot feel the difference in the spider missile speed, but the full spider build does pretty nuts damage if you are accurate w/ it

I still think it sucks TBH after trying it a time or two. It can do a lot of damage, but I still feel like it's easier to fish for walls than hope you consistently hit one target with spiders.

Plz change him back to old zeeb Blizz. Alpha zeeb...heuehuehue

Found it was against C9 at Dreamhack, but they did have Johanna and Rehgar and were on a much smaller map. Not to mention that I don't think Glau's Illidan is comparable to Fan's.

It was a rather unconventional comp as well though with double mage.

I don't think making his spiders always spawn (AKA spamming Q at the ground for free damage) is the way to bring him back to glory. I'd say even further increasing spider jar missile speed, and increasing the range on his abilities by default (remove thing of the deep, replace with something else) is the way to fix him.

Yeah i found that game while trying to look it up, but i didnt review it so i dunno if that was the one...if it had fan on the outside of fights a lot and using w to get out then yeh

Ketch ill play dota, changes look crazy

I think i might be approaching top 100 on hotslogs qm, spamming falstad w/ hunt illidan is ez money

I do find it funny that Dota 2 adds its first new hero in such a long time, and it's a hero from another moba, Smite. Sure, I know it's a character of Chinese stories/legends, and they're implementing him different than Smite does, but still.

Monkey King Samuro is coming in January. It's just a reference for that market.

As a rule of thumb china is always the largest market for mobas so it's usually a prtty good move to pander to that market a bit

I would love to, but all I've ever played is the tutorial so that's probably not going to happen. RIP the dream.

Mechanically you should be more than adequate enough for it.

I haven't played Dota 2 in two years so I'd be more than useless if I ever join the train. Although considering my play in HoTS, you won't be able to tell the difference lol.

Yeah I could probably play one of the two as well, but fuck that noise. Toxic communities, items/shops, last hitting, long games. No thanks. Hardly have time as is.

Also gonna go out on a limb here and say Glau is overrated as fuck. Inb4 Famalie defense force. 😝

Watching HGC qualifiers I would say he was the least impressive overall, even less so than chu8 himself. Chu had a few great plays and a couple of solid overall games at least. Glau was just kind of there

His dehaka was pretty good
Hes like overrated if u consider the way ppl are trained to talk about him (good at melee (hes ok), ppl need to build comps around him (no)), but underrated in the grand scheme of chuteam since im prtty sure he is contributing a lot to shotcalling and strategy. Chu is...rated? Like hes underrated in general but his horde overrates him?

Mc has been more successful both with a super team and without and pigeonholes his team less, but don't think either of them are what people thought they'd be a year, year and a half ago. Probably not what they thought they'd be either.

If there's any constant in western HOTS scene it's NA and EU consistently generating more decent to good players to fill the flex and melee role which can supersede the old ones. In NA it's what, Zuna and Fan who have been consistently good in the scene throughout in those roles? I may be missing someone. Most everyone else has had time off, or lost their luster, or retired completely.

EDIT: Don't think the majority of chu fans overrate him at all. The excitement/hype is how dismissive pros and non-chu fans were of him and his chances, despite his competitive background.

Denial at blizzcon was like a 4/5th place na team representing, but i dunno how theyve been scrimming since then, they are kinda like nvt where they have good players but it doesnt look like they care about practice, and w/ nvt it's just easier to cut through other teams and play standard compared to denial

I've never really thought of Mc as overrated except for here, since a good bit of us used to follow his stream and we've definitely hyped him up over the past two-ish years. I guess there was some reddit stuff around him getting removed from NVT instead of someone else, though. Glau has always been the far more hyped of the two among the larger esports community, however, and then the tide turned on him sometime last year.

I don't have high hopes for either in the new league, and that has as much to do with their teams as themselves TBH. Pretty sure Mc has found himself in another bad situation. He's on the portion of the team that hasn't been together since forever, aka the non-power broker faction, and the power-broking section hasn't shown they can adapt to current HOTS since like last February. I'm not sure how serious Glau's team is going to take it, but we know he will take it serious.

Just glad they are both getting paid.

He's a pretty good player. Good publicity for the team, decent chance at a sponsorship I'd guess. Think he's played with Glau before. Two of the players I don't know.

Not sure how serious Glau will be, seems like he wants to make streaming a priority for now. and chu will def prioritise streaming.

I'll believe it when I see it. Dude lives for competition. I still never see him streaming, which I assume means he's doing it in the daytime. It'd be better for him and HOTS if that's what he did, though. Need more good streamers.

I'm going by this which he sent out to subs. He's been streaming almost daily ever since getting kicked from Denial.

HeyGuys, today I lost the 2nd qualifier for HGC and I want to let you guys know that I'm going to be trying extremely hard leading into the qualifier next week. I'm planning on working with my teammates on draft/playing a lot of hero league outside of scrims. Generally I try and stream those games, but considering this will be my last chance at qualifying I am not going to be streaming until the qualifier is over. I'm just going to focus extremely hard on preparing the best I can to qualify. I know you guys sub for the content, and I want you to know not streaming sucks for me too. I feel though the best thing for me is to qualify first before I take the next step at becoming a better content creator. I also want to let you guys know that after we qualify, I will be setting up a consistent schedule consisting of five, eight hour broadcasts every week (at least) so the future looks bright for the stream!!! Anyways this is why there will be a lack of streams in the coming week.
Cheers,
Glau
