Exactly. It does everything from sustain to giving him teleport targets to a ton of damage.
Also makes the lvl 1 talent much better.

I want to like calamity since 1 teleport is a lot of damage but I never seem to fit it in well enough. I'm usually using teleport to make space not get closer.
My build is always:
1 - mana regen / spell armor (depending on their comp)
4 - missiles mark for bonus damage
7 - teleport does dmg
10 - disintegrate (they're both good, but I think you get more value at any time out of disintegrate)
13 - teleport range
16 - mirrorball / diamond skin (comp dependent again)
20 - usually tal rasha
Her trait works so well with calamity, I would never pass on it. You can be a resets god and wipe them all in a teamfight.

how do you play her then? If you teleport on top of people, don't you just get melted immediately? I like playing her as a backline orb thrower basically never getting hit and doing big chunks of damage, I've never really played her any other way.
If you're going calamity you almost always need to pick dominance at 4 for the health (imo). And aether walker at one is a solid choice as well. No, she doesn't get melted every time, you just have to pick when to go in, but that's every hero.
I seriously cannot think of another hero with that much diversity. Off the top of my head there's only 3-4 talents are that lesser IMO and they are: aether walker at 1, dominance at 4, diamond skin at 16 and archon at 20. Doesn't mean they're not good at all, because they still have uses.
You teleport to secure a kill and get a reset so you can keep spamming your abilities, and if there's no one close to death you can teleport away if you're in danger. If you take force armor it's also pretty hard to delete you immediately. But yeah, you're not the first to engage, you need to wait for an opening while attacking from range.
Her tree is one of the best in the game.

archon is great when you're ahead in levels and want to end. Insane siege.
#1 don't die
#2 follow up any stun with D-E, Q, R, W
#3 late game throw flamestrikes from a mile away non stop.
I think new malf is in a fine spot. I think tranq is required for solo healing and the mortal strike on root is OP as fuck.
I went:
1- scouting drone
4- increased range
7- mortal strike root
10- Tranq
13- life seed (should be ice block, but didn't need it)
16- ysera's gift (great combo with life seed, but standard is probably tenacious roots still--- and it combos with the lvl 7 anyway)
20- Tranq upgrade
on THH they were crying bloody murder over his nerf, but honestly, i think he's just in line with other healers now. I think the lvl 7 and 16 root talents makes him pretty good against auriel.

How would you get "lost" 20 hrs, and I think everyone overlooked her casino adiction. Also dont go alone to public events, ever.
That's not what they said. They said he was fine for hero league, but at the pro level he has been *hugely* nerfed with the removal of Cleanse. That makes a big difference to his viability, and in the current meta basically means he can't solo heal.

Just played hanamura where first pick on my team was the lost vikings. I had never seen TLV on hanamura before, so I asked if it was a good pick. He said he can push the objectives with all 3. I mean, that's a really weak upside imho. I said the keeps are way more important.
Somewhat into the game, where it's obvious our opponent team was a joke (both side drafts were weird to say the least), TLV asks if I like his pick. I laughed and said these guys suck. Then I looked at the scoreboard and saw his weak stats, in both siege and hero, and xp. I looked at xp and say a 0 next to mercenary xp earned for us. This guy was getting carried hard.
Looking at TLV's winrates on hotslogs, they're a bit over the place. In unranked draft (where I was) he does have a high winrate.
So is TLV good on the map or what? Seems like sylvanas or nazeebo would out perform them every time.

I think valla's tree is pretty solid. I usually go for W builds but Q has a place and a hatred build as well if you wanna focus on auto attacks against a team weak to it.
they said it was an attack on malfurion, like he didn't deserve it or something
and they talked about how the game isn't ready for supports to be more utility focused, and I think they're wrong. Double support or support + shield mechanic is meta currently anyway. They just need a few more utility heroes and to nerf uther after they get here.

She seems like she has less diversity than Ming after I just looked through her talents.
I don't even think it's necessary that they all have the same heal output. It just can't be that one size fits all stuff like we've seen in the past, where the only thing that matters is heal out put. It used to be basically any meta support could go in any comp and keep the whole team up by them selves, like it didn't matter what healer you had as long as you had one of the top 3. Similar to uther and malf last patch, where if you got one of them you were good to go, but at least they had divine shield and clarity to a lesser extent that allowed them to stand apart from each other in terms of what strategies they enabled.
Like now they need to bring uthers power level down a little while also further defining him as the "melee assassins gonna go ham" enabler.

Just had a game vs 3 blinds (cassia, johanna + lili) as valla and I just went Q build all the way and got MVP as well. I think that speaks towards talent tree strength more than just having several variants of the same builds, granted valla isn't the most dependent AA but she can be hardcore AA or she can be hardcore ability.
You want to go Flamestrike build but don't pick the Flamestrike quest at 1. It is high risk, high reward not recommended for new players. Pick Mana Addict, then pick range on E then Phoenix ultimate, Living Bomb and all Flamestrike Talents.
You always want to maintain distance from your opponent, never go in hard because they can kill you instantly. Be at a range where you can cast your spells but not closer unless securing kill.
Against waves you want to do D, W, W in a way that the two explosions hit most enemies. The cool down of W is reset because of the D. This is a bit more efficient that Flamestrike starting out, once you get the double Flamestrike you can just cast that. On tougher waves you can do the first combo and the Q to finish off stragglers.
In fights you want to try to snipe with your E. Have a D powered up, then E (to make it cost no mana as its expensive), Q, W on the target. You will do some nice damage and if teammates are around to follow up its a kill.
When you don't have E available, you want to be far away and press D into Q for AOE damage on team fights. The W has low range so it's risky trying to go in to put a W on a target but don't completely neglect it as when you get Living Bomb talent you get insane cool down resets.
Place Phoenix after your E lands or in the middle of an objective/team fight to zone out enemies.
This isn't an easy hero to play but man when you start rolling you can go hard on the enemy team. In smaller maps where enemies always go to a specific spot like Braxis, you can pick Flamestrike talent and get the quest filled up quick. You pretty much always win the gameif you complete that quest fast.

Yeah in team fights I am always spamming D-Q in the mid game.
That's another element of Kaelthas is when to use the D. Probably the biggest learning curve with the character. If your D is off cooldown then you are playing him wrong.

Yeah it really sucks for her. I've been in several twitch channels today for less than 30 mins each, and in most including huge streamers chat they all are talking about it and 24 hour poker is now code for cheating on your boyfriend and getting caught.
It's unfortunate that her personal life is being put on blast especially considering while she's a public figure... she isn't really. It's not like she's a hollywood celeb with paparazzi. But thousands of people now know her and because she forsaked all her obligations to "play poker". Unfortunate all around.
