I think some characters can't really do well because of Overwatch's third dimension.

Like Hanzo's big thing is climbing up walls and finding a place to shoot from. That won't translate well to HotS unless they can enable tree climbing and have that...do something. Pharah seems impossible to translate.

Pharah is pretty easy for the most part.

Her hover can be a trait that you can hold down to fly around the field. While in hover your attacks do splash damage but your movement is more restricted. She can hover over terrain.

The rest is just giving her more offensive options (she has that push ability too that you can make it so that it would stun them if it hits terrain) and talents. Ultimate is throwing missiles which she can do while in hover mode too.

I think pharah can work. Rocket boost upwards and hover for a few seconds, melee can't hit during it. She can also move while shooting in this state. Her knockback is fairly easy to translate. I think most of her kit is ez.


Hanzo wall climb lets him get over scenery/walls like genji can jump over. Climb up a tower and get extra range? In addition to his AA using his bow, you have a skill shot similar to gawlowe's deth laser that lets you charge up. This would have a fairly low cooldown and longer travel time then deth laser's instant hit, also not nearly as long a charge time but longer charge time = longer range + damage. It would also be a thin skill shot as opposed to wide like gazelowe's at full charge.

Then he would also have his wall hack arrow being reveal for where the skill shot lands and the explosive one is pretty simple. Charge time applies to all his skill shots. His ult is easy. His second ult I have an idea for, he shoots out an arrow that explodes into a shower of arrows... jk that's cliche af. Actually something like railgun from UT, you shoot out a bomb or ball of some sort that does damage on contact but you can also skill shot it and it explodes.

Decided to finish off my placements today.. was playing against Diamond 3 mostly at the end there so luckily my last two games I had 1 person rage quit and never come back. Classic Hero League.

I finished plat 1. Don't think I'll ever hit diamond 3 again off the bat. Tanked too low. I even tend to stick to heroes I'm good at, but it just doesn't pan out. Blizzard is getting their 50% WR outta me for sure.

Hero League is aggressively unfun, thats my major takeaway once again from doing my placements. Constant bickering and name calling, horrific plays all over the place with nobody taking responsibility. Its always someone elses fault that you got caught out in a dumb spot.

I am pretty sure if I did my placement matches this month I would be ranked as Silver where as last month I was Platinum 5. Makes me not even want to bother doing it to be honest.

There's no consistency in the MM system in this game. I am pretty sure right now in Quick Play my MMR is in low bronze but in the ranked modes I am like Platinum or something. Unranked probably somewhere in the middle, Team League Silver 3 lol.

Even going 0-10 you wouldn't lose all the way down to Silver from Platinum unless you legit played next to no games after your first placement. If you're still sub 50-100 games total in that mode, however, you might see a big swing because you have no real track record. It places you at a spot where it thinks you can climb from, but that doesn't mean you will climb, after all.

If you're bronze in QM, Silver in TL, Unranked is in the middle, and HL you're platinum, only one of those is the outlier and that's HL. A lot depends on how much you've played the mode, as I said above. You receive larger gains and losses for a long period of time when first entering a new mode, steadily dropping off for about 100 games. Even after that you're still gaining or losing more than someone who has 500 or 1000 games for a while, even if it's only a small difference. To me what you're seeing difference wise in the non HL modes isn't really that notable. The HL ranking, however, is indeed a huge outlier and I would be curious to know how many games that took and what the record was getting there since it's so different from your other MMRs.

And FWIW, I'm not saying the matchmaking in this game is perfect by any means. It's got some serious flaws such as high level HL and basically all of TL. There's not much to say about QM or unranked, though. QM is what it is. It's a mess, but it's a mess because you can play what you want at your own peril. Unranked is just training wheels for HL, though I will say I can't remember having much issue with UR matchmaking despite it being the second least played mode.

Well in QP and Unranked I am usually playing experimental heroes and builds so I tend to lose more often. In solo ranked matches I make the best picks and try hard... harder I guess.

Actually I just checked, my QP is Platinum and my Unranked is Gold. That's much higher than it was a week ago. I just don't understand this system to be honest. I guess at least it's starting to even out more across the modes.

Karsticles#1474 and NA. Me, Dahbomb, and Mobius play a lot together, and I'd like to get 2 more consistent teammates so we can have more enjoyable matches.

We play in the evenings kind of whenever, but if Kioshen becomes a regular it would be based on his limitations. We usually start playing around 10 PM EST.

Oh no, I definitely want you with us if you want to commit. It's Tuesday, so let's play tonight. I like the idea of limiting my play by a few days so I don't just HotS all summer, lol.

I tried practicing my shot calling aptitudes. It did not go well as expected but it's a nice change of pace.
Well, most of the shots you called were more hindsight, lol. We need a legit shot caller though if you want to take on that role.

The problem with all the GAFfers I've played with is no one wants to strictly shot call. Like we all do it from time to time, but most of it is just from having played so long. If that makes sense.

Most of the time we just know where to be and what we should be doing at that given time.

This dude Karst actively avoids pings. I actually didn't even know about it until last night when he said so... it made so much sense after the fact!

Developer Comment: We have been reading a lot of feedback on Tyrande and have heard overwhelming requests to give her substantial buffs. While we would love to do so, our internal data shows her rework win rate is sitting within 1% of her pre-rework values (.8% higher at high-level play and .1% lower at medium/low levels). The rework was focused on lowering the power of her healing while greatly strengthening her utility and damage output. Our data is showing that we are meeting those goals but realize that a lot of players are still attempting to solo-support with her. We are actively aware of the Support role-perception issue, especially since it transcends just Tyrande, and are exploring a lot of different options to help alleviate the frustrations.

Well, the store finally updated. the wait continues.

EDIT: Just make Tyrande a full DPS and get rid of her healing. she doesnt feel like a support till late , late game

They already have the problem "solved" with Tyrande. Switch her to multiclass like Varian. Unless there's a reason they haven't been adding more multiclass people (they don't like having multiclass heroes?) Or rename her into a specialist or something

Both Tassadar and Tyrande should be in multiclass to be honest as Assassin/Support.

Tyrande and Tassadar are most definitely not specialists though. Specialists seem like heroes that are good at pushing/taking mercs/taking buildings... neither Tyrande nor Tassadar are particularly good at that.

I figured that too. Wish they would rename the Specialist moniker as well in that case.

I really don't like talking much during play, so it's not a good job for me. Does everyone really dislike it that much?

My game awareness is super low, so I would love a dedicated shot-caller. Like, sometimes objectives pop up and I'm so focused on harassing my lane I don't even notice.

Make sure your mic is ready for coms tonight so we can try out you calling shots regularly.
