Highs and Lows of your gaming hobby?

THIS is what this thread is all about. This is the best post in here by far (at least the one I can relate the most to).

Indeed. So great to read, I decided to try this again the right way :)

HIGHS
- Getting a Colecovision for Christmas in '82 and playing Donkey Kong all night
- Becoming addicted to Tetris on NES and moving blocks around in my sleep
- Being in awe of Strider's graphics on Genesis
- Starting to save for a PlayStation upon seeing WipEout for the first time
- My wife defeating the entire room of seasoned gamers one-by-one in Tekken 2 using Jun, right after my brother-in-law was ranting about how useless the character was.
- Dreamcast launch. First system I ever pre-ordered. All three of my gaming friends got one as well, so we had a DC party on 9/9/99 and everyone brought their games/VMUs. My wife made cupcakes - white icing with orange swirls. That launch will never, ever, be topped for me.
- Playing SSX all night when PS2 launched. Pure, straight-up fun. Still maybe the best launch title ever.
- Playing Mario Party 4 with my wife and son. He was just the perfect age for it at the time.
- Inviting people over to try Wii Sports on day one. They all went out in search Wiis that day.

LOWS
- Finally unlocking the last track in WipEout XL and having the machine freeze on the 'congratulation' screen - not able to save.
- Donating my PS1 to the local children's hospital when I got PS2, with a handful of games including Bust-a-Groove. Try replacing that game now. :(
- Realizing I would never become good enough to actually get anywhere in F-Zero GX. I had to get rid of it after it made me throw my Wavebird
- Thinking about how much I spent on Wii games/peripherals that I never use anymore
