How did Killzone 2 get a 91?
Did you read any of the reviews on metacritic to see why or did you just look at the average? The reviews themselves will tell you why it got a 91.

If I pre order through Amazon tomorrow will I still get it by Tuesday?
These are bullshots.
...right?
killzone shadowfall is literally unplayable
i bought both killzone and knack day one with my ps4 and you know what? i finished knack. can't say the same about killzone shadowfall.
Tried about everything from restarting my PS4, resetting my internet, logging out, etc. I am on beta firmware 4.5 so could that possibly be an issue? Guess I will try to figure it out. Worse case scenario I play it later the day it comes out. Thanks for the answerYep it is up keep trying.

Finally got it to show up. This is what I had to do:
Library --> Horizon --> Activities --> "I liked Horizon" post --> Show Game Information
The download button finally came up.
Make sure to go the store first and like/rate Horizon so you can see the post related to it on the Activities tab. It's definitely a bug on the Beta firmware.Maybe you can try this?
Metacritic says HZD is released in approx 26 hours...what time zone is this???

That right there is the flaw in your argument. You're saying 1/10 and so on as if review scores are reflections of the game's quality. It's not and never has, not for games, not for movies, not for books. It's a reflection of that reviewer's enjoyment. No, you're missing the point. A review is for the audience, it's not to stroke the ego of the reviewer. That is, it's more important to provide a solid and useful resource for potential buyers than it is to scream from the rooftop that everybody else is wrong.
So, if a reviewer can tell a product is quality, but hates it, then they should consider passing it along to someone else to review. Obviously, it's okay to hate something, and it's okay to say that. But even in hating something, a reviewer owes it to their audience to be intellectually honest about it's overall quality.
For example:
"I want this to be a great game... I can feel the polish, and it's a technical marvel. It's beautiful from beginning to end. I know many people will love this game, and many will consider it a masterpiece. But... I just couldn't connect with it. For all its polish, it felt soulless to me, just a bit empty inside. I didn't like the characters, and didn't understand their motivations, and the story rang false. Which is a shame, because I know there is a great game in there somewhere, but I just couldn't find it. Whether that's my mistake, or that of the developers, will be up to others to decide. I feel uncomfortable giving this game a numeric review, because any number I assigned it would feel wrong... the games obvious merits earn a score I just don't feel comfortable giving it, because at the end of the day, I hated it."
That is an honest review [of an imaginary game]. It shreds the game without lying about it, or ignoring it's clear good points. Personally, I'd say that reviewer should have passed the game along to another reviewer.
Like I said, I hate platformers. But that doesn't mean I'd give them all a 1/10 even if I hate them. What good does that do anybody? I realize we live in 2016 where people love to scream vulgarities into cameras and post it on youtube, but ultimately, a good reviewer is there as a resource.
Sure, you can oversimplify the issue and twist my words and pretend I'm saying reviewers should lie if they hate the game, but clearly, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying a reviewer should have the intellectual integrity to recognize that even a game they absolutely hate can be good, and vice versa - even a game they love can be janky and broken. And they need to ensure their reviews reflect that intellectual honesty. It's okay to hate a game everyone else loves, and it's okay to say that. But that doesn't make it a 1/10 game... it just means you didn't like it. There's a difference.

Was legit good fps at the time of release. Think it's kinda been surpassed since then in various aspects, but at time of release, damn was it fun.
What some people forget is that not every prospective buyer is someone who is "all in" and riding a ridiculous hype train. I'm personally pretty wary of most open world games and I find the USGamer review incredibly useful and relevant to me as a result of that.

Those forests... O:

Because it's good.

It's a reflection of the reviewer standard. Or at least it should be. But it must not be only of their enjoyment. If you grade something, its based on your standard.
Until Dawn was a disaster. The framerate was a mess and it wasn't even open world. The models were nice but even the animations were inconsistent, varying from impressive, to uncanny, to atrocious.
You're assuming Horizon is designed like Far Cry and similar games, when most impressions and reviews say the game is how you'd prefer: focus on gameplay and combat, strong narrative focus, varied landscapes and things to discover, good pacing and progress due to how stats and weapon unlocks work, etc.
I'm of the mind that all review scores are equally arbitrary because it's nearly impossible to take something as subjective as the experience to play and consistently translate it to a numerical score, even if you have a long list of rules for how many points a game gains/loses for X, Y, and Z.
Yes, but I would also argue that Guerrilla Games also have one of the best art designers in the triple A industry. These graphics are ridiculous on the ps4 and the pro.
Of course they're arbitrary. Not only among different sites having different meanings and definitions for what defines their scores, but among every individual writer on those sites, because every person will weight and view things differently based on preference and personal experienceI'm of the mind that all review scores are equally arbitrary because it's nearly impossible to take something as subjective as the experience to play and consistently translate it to a numerical score, even if you have a long list of rules for how many points a game gains/loses for X, Y, and Z.
Nice. Thanks to a price mistake cancellation giving me a $10 credit, I just got a sweet deal. I was late to this hype train because I wasn't sure it would be one...
But that's exactly what it is. For anything. We can't escape from some measure of description of enjoyment from reviewers. The whole numerical scoring is a double edged sword because even if one reviewer's 5 is another reviewer's 9, then something is afoot. And we are talking numbers here:: and 8 is an 8 is an 8. You see this best when a game gets a majority of its reviews scored about the same (8~9). That means that most reviewers are working off the same standard of scoring. Statistics and anomalies and such.
