Horizon Zero Dawn Spoiler-free Impressions (for real this time)

The lamp is playing the game and he said the story is fine. If musician said its ass that doesn't mean its ass, keep in mind how he is thinking about the whole story.

I need the full range of opinions and let's face it, for entertainment value we all do.

The few white men Ive come in contact with are are all assholes. The white womenz is fine doe (and they're all granny sub characters so who gives a shit because the story is ass anyway)

Everyone else is black, brown or yellow and it's fucking hilarious

Game is still fun, but man what the fuck were Guerilla thinking. Really needed to score some points that bad after Shadowfall huh?

Sheesh

It's pretty bad with the racial/pandering bullshit dudes

I haven't been this wavy on a game in a long time. For all of the ups there's just as many downs.

I was high on it as soon as it opened and then once I got the gist it was the same shit I've been playing for the past three years (but super pretty)

It even suffers from Far Cry Syndrome in that you can absolutely overlevel yourself doing all sorts of side stuff before any main quests (that end up being way more exciting than the shit story missions). It's LITERALLY the same fucking thing in how systematic it is.

WHERES MY FUCKING T REX

That's about the only thing that could redeem this experience significantly at this point right now.

Killing the dinobots never gets old though

And the optional dungeons are fuckin sweet. Probably better than Zelda's. Probably.

What the fuck? LMAO

He don't like that word.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
While I love me some Witcher 3, the story of the actual game is actually pretty lackluster and this is made even more apparent by the DLC, Hearts of Stone especially. Its not bad by any means but the Wild Hunt are a pretty uninteresting threat even if they have some great visual designs for their armors and such. The overall story of the Witcher 3 was definitely not its strongest element and pretty bland until the DLC hit. The side quests and other things are often great but I wouldn't consider them part of the main plot in most cases. So if anything I don't want Horizon to have a story on par or like the Witcher 3's as that is not something I'd consider a compliment or good thing. Now if its of the power and greatness of Hearts of Stone's story that's another thing.

No.

This is nothing like Witcher 3 in terms of story.

Jesus Christ I can't even with that one...

Other posters, who's opinions I trust have said that it puts them in mind of The Witcher 3 at times. So pardon me if I put more stock into what they say instead of, "The white guys are all assholes, but da white womenz is fine doe."

Do you mean don't expect a Zelda dungeon because the quality is not even close, or what you DO in it in not even close to the same stuff you do in a Zelda dungeon?

You don't do the stuff you do in a zelda dungeon.

unless the last two are some major departure it's just a series of rooms where you hit vents to make stealth areas and you have to clear out enemies. Then there are platforming bits with rotating platforms and unless you consider changing the direction from clockwise to counterclock wise a puzzle, then there are no puzzles. It's just a different looking combat area where you have to do some light platforming, think of the uncharted 2 ice temple (hell its not even that complex).

Agreed. I love Witcher 3 but it's main story is by far the weakest out of the trilogy. CDPR still got it though, but I can't lie, I was a bit disappointed in how the Wild Hunt was tackled.

I was hyped for the Wild Hunt ever since they showed up in TW1. And then all the little lore pieces in TW2. That they sort of turn into this generic fantasy enemy, blah.

Yeah, agreed. At least they killed it with the Magic Man villain in the first expansion.

To be fair every RPG you can farm your level lol.

How so?

It's nowhere near as well done as the Witcher in terms of its storytelling. Or it's acting for that matter.

The two really shouldn't even be compared but of course they will be.

You know...GASP, not everyone agrees with you, and FYI, TW3's story was mediocre, worst of the series, the side quests and DLC were far better.

I really don't see why, he hasn't been that way at all until now and that's only people assuming now is different because of the things he mentions about race.

I'm not condoning him I'm just saying he's probably giving his honest thoughts.

That's a fair point but they way he reacted to some of us calling
young Aloy cute
suggests that he can be extreme.

I've got some world traversal and interaction gameplay I'm uploading. I think it helps show a bit more what it's like to just wander around. And the ending is great lol

Not sure it's possible to talk game narrative wih someone who is in the middle of a brain aneurysm though...

The blowback to this game is gonna be rough guys. The honeymoon period will be sweet as titty, but man I tell you, y'all gonna come back to this like "What the fuck was so special about it besides it's graphics and the enemy design?"

And I'm saying this as someone who is halfway done, with all the sides complete and a shitload of trophies.

Leveling up in this game doesn't bother me or feel like overlevling did in witcher or most RPGS. The only stat that rises with leveling is health which is needed as you fight tougher guys. The rest are just skills you learn which adds to your arsenal of moves, I don't see them as making things that much easier, just making the game have more options for the tough enemies.

Stats and weapon spoilers

All the attack stats come from weapons themselves and you will not get higher weapons until the game allows you to buy them at specific merchants which you find as you advance the story. So the level of weapons you get are always paced exactly as the devs intend.

I never feel I am super over leveled or anything for my current mission. When I played witcher 3 I leveled up so fast that I had to put it on death March and still it was super easy.

When you defeat a white women you get a yoga pants for Aloy

LMAO

Bookmarked. Are you even aware of all the positive bus from others, previews, and hints that reviewers love it?
