You could argue that Sylens caught that disease, because of the lack of available knowledge. If he and the rest of the world were given it already. There would've been no need for him to do what he's doing.
The world was already filled with ruins with some hints, but all that was basically just a taste of what was possible. How is that possible to resist? Once you took a bite.

No white guy from the old world is going to gene therapy their clones to be black. Racism isn't as easily squashed as the Apollo module.
I'm hoping the signal isn't from the Odyssey. Space humans vs new humans sounds so uninspired. I'd sooner believe that the tallnecks are silently monitoring the focus network, and Ted set up the equivalent of a Google Alert. If his name popped up, a signal would be sent to a satellite that can release a virus, thus allowing his "legacy" to be purged from the Earth.

It's one of the logs you pick up in GAIA prime that need repair.
This is GAIA LOG FEB 2065 I believe, it never gets repaired. But it's the one that plays during the Epilogue: Elisabet talking about her mother.

Then which one is the broken Elisabeth one which is in repair status?
Alot of people can't admit this. I knew GG had it in them though. Sony was controlling their output.

I was confused by this too, if you check the ones that are corrupted, the datapoints that are directly to the right of them have the same name and can be viewed from there. Not sure why they chose to have a corrupted version and an unlocked version for the same sets of datapoints.

Yes, the GAIA one. It's the one that plays during the epilogue when Aloy finds Elisabet's body. It just doesn't get repaired or unlocked in the notebook for some reason.
Sylens is definitely interesting in his own right, and definitely has a bit of Ted in him whether it is genetics or the lust for knowledge and power. I really hope the future tells us more about why he and the Banuk have those blue things integrated into their bodies. I could see why some Shaman would experiment with such things, but I feel like Sylens would only do it if he knew it was beneficial - unless he originated from the Banuk and had it done prior to his quest for knowledge.
I didn't see any sign of racism in the post-apocalyptic world. A bit of sexism and some prejudice against differing tribes, but I think the equal representation of races did squash racism.

I mean, everyone calls Aloy "red hair", since she's one of the only people with... red hair. And there are superstitions tied to that (I guess much like the dumb ginger stuff that happens now).

This is the reality I am choosing.
I have 2 specific requests for Horizon 2.
1) More dinosaur variants. Too many animal types not enough Dinosaur ones.
2) I hope we get a Dark Samus-like humanoid machine character to be the anti-Aloy. They can work the parallels into the story. Plus she can have long red cybernetic hair via the corruption tendrils.

Lol, not sure how I missed that, seems pretty obvious in hindsight. One quick correction (that supports this even more): the Corrupters were called Scarabs, Chariot was the line of killbots.
I like this because not only is it interesting thematically, it also makes sense in the context of the lore. I wouldn't doubt the original, good, climate-correcting Faro bots built by Elisabet also had Egyptian names.

Thought the same. Though for me, the most frightening part of his character is that his greed and myopia is all too commonplace among the powerful in our own societies. Sure, there probably won't be a robot plague, but Ted Faro isn't too far off from CEOs happy to pollute the water table for extra profits, or politicians rolling back environmental protections at the behest of special interests.
Couldn't shake that feeling all throughout the game; that our ruin is just a number of individually small decisions away. One of the reasons I found the whole narrative so compelling (and chilling).

I missed a huge arc on the story. I was sleepy and had to take a break to take a nap. And I can't remember what happened.
I'm on the mission "The Grave" checking out Project: Zero Dawn. I'm kind of lost on what Maker's End was all about. Including the characters and what I was doing. I feel like not paying attention at this moment has completely ruined the story for me now.

My bad. Missed a few data points and all I saw referenced were Chariots and Khopesh as the main fighting units. Since there were only Corrupters and Deathbringers I just made the leap in logic.
So, done with Horizon. I have some questions.
Could someone explain me the difference between the anicent machines and the normal ones ? So the old ones have built one of them but they have conquered the earth, I dont understand to 100% this thing.
And about the post-credit scene. Does this mean Sylens is now again with Hades in a team and his 'slave' ?

I am not the only one who feels that you were manipulated to "kill" Hades in the very end, am I? Hades even mentions that Aloy being there has been accounted/calculated for, doesn't he?
And in the post-credits scene he "returns" to Sylense like it had been planned in advance and they walk away, towards another Horus machine. Is Sylense only thirsty for knowledge and is playing with fire OR is he just a (un)willing puppet to Hades in the end?
It feels like Hades was freed from its "prison", doesn't it? But why? Does Hades want to do something else than just reverting the terraforming and killing everything again?
All the questions, damn it!
Also, didn't the Odysseus thingy suffer critical malfunction and get "launched" out of the solar system? Gonna check tomorrow if I remember it correctly but I remember one of the text logs mentioning that ZD became the only chance for life in the end.
Oh, and by the way, it was an amazing journey.

The ancient machines were war machines that went rogue and started stripping the planet and killing everyone. The animal/normal ones were created by GAIA to harvest/maintain and do what was needed to maintain they earth. It was only after they were corrupted did they become dangerous and started having more dangerous versions with guns.
Yeah i have also no idea what Sylens now doing. I dont know if he is using Hades or been used by Hades. soooooooooo many questions.
Yeah, I totally missed her whole questline my first playthrough and she was still at the end battle.

The Corruptors, Deathbringers and Horus machines are from the past which indeed did kill all life on earth. The "normal", more animal like machines are those that GAIA designed and had Hephaestus build to terraform and reboot life on the planet after the before mentioned three had killed the planet.

Someone/something activated Hades so it could have been that. Sylens kept Hades around to find out who/what.
I don't know if anyone from Guerrilla reads here, but I want to commend them on the story. I don't think it would have worked nearly as well in any other medium, and this really elevated gaming. Discovering everything as Aloy was at the same time was really mind blowing - like what's that huge spider thing draped on that mountain?? And everything was explained.
I wish I could mind wipe myself so I could experience it for the first time agin.

Just finished "An Acquired Taste" side mission, and now I'm fully convinced that Horizon 2 takes place in the far west Cali/Nevada (The Forbidden West) and Odyssey survived and are going to be attacking Earth for some reason
I thought Hades has activated himself? I didn't know he was activated by someone else or something.
There's a teaser after the end where Sylens asks him who woke him up so I'll guess we'll need to wait and see
I wish they'd do the East Coast, but I'm biased. Fallout 3 kinda sucked, but seeing D.C. destroyed was awesome (and pretty funny). The city I live in was a mutant haven.

Corrupted (red) machines are those overridden by Hades and awoken old world corrupters.
The more dangerous animal machines like thunderjaws and ravagers were made by Hephaestus as a result of the unknown signal that separates the various ai subroutines from Gaia's control. If you complete all the cauldrons, the data implies that humanity (presumably through generations of hunting machines, and without Gaia's control and guidance) was seen as a threat, so Hephaestus started making the animal machines more aggressive and better armed to protect themselves. This is "the derangement" that had recently been happening, and is separate from the Hades corrupted machines.

When you get acces to the Cradle facility in the starting area you see/listen to the message that GAIA left for you. She mentions that unknown signal activated/disturbed Hades and turned it to a self aware, out of control AI and it starts to erode the "chains" for other slave AI's also before GAIA overloads the reactors of GAIA Prime facility to stop Hades, which ends up in a Horus machine in the west despite that.

No, they are each subordinate subroutines. Hades destroys everything, Hephaestus builds terraforming machines.
