Hot damn! New BandBrothers Video!! If this isn't Innovative I don't know what is!

Unfortunately only the "old man with glasses" model will be available at launch. Nintendo is having difficulties with production so they couldn't get the others out in time.

This game looks funs, looks like a midi synthesizer turned into a game. It seems like it would be awesome for multiplayer.

:lol that's so Japanese its great.

I wish I had something like DS back in junior high, with the PictoChat and the Band Bros.

It looks awesome, and I haven't even seen it yet. My friends should eat this up, they all loved Konga.

What about single player in Band Brothers? How does that work?

My friend and I were sitting in the back of this boring college class today playing Metroid Hunters against each other and using Pictochat throughout the class. It was awesome...no one was any wiser since it just looked like we were writing on PDAs. :D

That is awesome. I don't think I'd be able to get more than 3-4 people to play it though :(

But I guess I'll just have to pick it up anyways tommorow with WarioWare :D

Looks fun

I wonder if it's any fun on singleplayer mode though.
The chances of me playing with 5 others are pretty slim.

That's cool - the Dpad and buttons representing the 8-note scale.
This is out in Japan now? Any reviews? I'm curious to see if they can go up and down octaves in any way, or if they're restricted to the 8 notes.
I'm also wondering if there's a free mode.

Daigasso! Band Brothers (NDS, Nintendo): 8 / 8 / 8 / 8 - (32/40)

Looks like a lot of fun, i haven't found one person with a DS yet though :(

I think you can go up and down octaves, because the little japanese lady was holding the L and R shoulder buttons while she pressed some of the face buttons...

And I also believe there is a free mode, I think I read it somewhere.. Would like some details though, and I haven't seen any screens.

I remember reading somewhere that you can just mess around with songs, or compose your own, and I am pretty sure that L and R are used for octaves because I can't see any other reason to push them if you are using the face buttons for the notes. I can't wait for this to arrive in the mail. It looks awesome, and my brother and I are going to be messing around for hours witht the various songs. Wish I had more people though.

So what's the screen look like? I'm gonna guess it's some sort of real-time prompt like in DDR.

Controls seem to differ between Beginner, Amateur and Pro modes. Beginner is just two different buttons to press. Maybe the full 8 buttons is for pro mode?

Also, there are two multiplayer modes - one of which can have infinite players! I dunno how it works though.

We had trouble linking our DSs up at lunchtime. There may have been some interference in the building, so even though we were sat next to each other, we had a bad signal. It was really weird.

holy **** that looks very complex. Can't wait to check it out. I don't know why, but when I first heard of this game I thought you'd be scratching records like a DJ or something. :lol

It's actually not that complicated. IIRC, you follow the red arrows, and it wil tell you what button to press and for how long, and then there are sections where you have to touch the screen. It does get harder though with the various button combos you can have.

MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY

Unless UPS somehow gets on the ball and delivers early. Let's track the package!

12:53 A.M.
PHILADELPHIA, PA, US
FORWARDED TO THE FACILITY IN THE DESTINATION CITY
YA NEVER KNOW

I kinda want this but I'm afraid most of the time I'll have nobody to play with. Jonny, how much can you do with one cart multiplayer? What's the advantae of multi-cart multiplayer?

Holy crap! The song is Melissa, the first opening theme from Fullmetal Alchemist! Now I HAVE to import this game, as I'm sure the track list will be totally different for the US version.

Actually, does anybody know the tracklists?

I don't even know if there is a multi-cart multiplayer mode, unless the daigassou mode is only available that way. There are two multiplayer modes, band mode (2-8 players, each DS hears what the others are playing, headphones can be worn) and daigassou mode (2-infinity players, each DS only makes sound for one channel so have to play like that video).

Song list - I can't read some of the titles but:
J-pop
Seasons
Point of no return
Na mo naki Uta
Sora mo Toberu hazu
Shanghai Honey
Zenbu Dakishimete
Choo Choo Train
Sakuranbo
Love Revolution 21
Yeah! Meccha holiday (bleeeeurgh)

World
Foster medley
Christmas medley
Russia medley
The Entertainer
Child song medley
When the Saints go Marching In (I think)
World Song medley
Smoke on the Water

TV
fragile
???
Touch
G Men '75
Ready Steady Go
Melissa
Way of Difference
Kirari Sailor Dream
Special Forces Dekaranger

Classic
Slow Classic Medley
Four Seasons - Spring
Athletic Medley

Game
Super Mario Medley
F-Zero Medley
Zelda Medley
Kirby Medley
Pokemon Medley
Fire Emblem Medley
Famicom Mini Medley

Yeah, the L and R buttons to raise and lower octaves sounded like the obvious answer, but I didn't want to jump to conclusions.

I may have to import this.

:lol I was waiting to see someone notice that in this thread. I was singling along with the music the whole time during that video. I could definitely have a blast with this game. And an infinite player multiplayer mode? Good lord. @_@

That sounds like a cool concept...

...in theory. But in practice, I'll probably find at most one other person to play with anyway. IF it's even released in Europe. :/

In single player, it looks like a Beatmania clone to me, but with the possibility to make your own songs. Am I right?

Are we getting this in the US? That video just sold it for me.
Yeah, it was announced as "Jam With the Band". No release date or anything yet, though.

I'd like to see a songlist.
Nintendo in the rhythm genre, it's not something I'm used to yet.

Somebody had to e-mail me and remind me the name of the song. It was pissing me off for more than a day, because I KNEW I'd heard it before (saw some FMA on Japanese TV a year ago, but never downloaded the show or nothin') but I couldn't place it.

DFS.

That was pretty damn cool. I already have two friends that purchased the DS, a few more and I'm set. And wasn't that song they played used for Full Metal Alchemist, I know I've heard it before.

Yeah, the song in the Japanese video is from Full Metal Alchemist, it's the first theme, "Melissa" by Porno Graffiti.

It seems to me that having the shoulder buttons alter the pitch by a half-step would be more useful than octave-alteration. For sharps and flats?

If this game includes something at all like a more in-depth version of the Gameboy Camera composer, I'll definitely pick it up :D

This would of been a great built in app. I can seriously picturing myself 'jaming with the band'. IIRC, you cn compose songs and send them to the other people to play. I could see popular songs being transposed to the DS and played amoung friends.
