Hot Shots Golf Open Tee: The ULTIMATE?!??!

IVE GOT MY SWIRLY GLASSES U FUKS. I swear they help me win against Drinky Crows purple haired nun samurai lady.

The wireless is flawless, much like all the PSP wireless games ive played. Even darkstalkers plays without noticable lag.

Im only HSG Master rank, but I unlock a couple items each time I play. I never bought the ps2 HSG games, are they as good as this one? I remember playing the ps2 one a few times at friends but it never struck me as awesome.

This and Wipeout are so awesome.

The PS2 ones are far more annoying due to the Americanization of the characters being more pronounced. They are extremely lame and spout repetitive one liners far more frequently. I even like the course design in the PSP hot shots better. If you wanna play one for PS2, Fore has all the courses from 3, so there is quite a bit of value there if you can ignore the obnoxious characters.

The thing I don't like about this game is that I'm replaying the same courses over and over and over just to get more points and to unlock items. It would be nice if there were more courses or more modes to spice up the campaign. I mean, for a wacky game like this, I want to see modes like slot golf. That would be pretty much my only complaint, the game is ace otherwise.

I stopped at the Gold set of challenges (three stars) and got 100% on everything down. Awesome game but the game kicks your ass here. Make one bad move and you're done. I like challenge but it was a bit too much here. Maybe I'll play again.

Its safe to say I got my $40 worth here. Looking forward to Open Tee 2, which probably won't be out for a couple more years. But I'm waiting.

Yeah, this game is so addictive...definitely got my money's worth after hours and hours of playing, and I still have lots of things to do. I'm only at the Bronze level so far.

HSG4 is the best game this generation -- buy it immediately! The characters should have been left intact, but they're certainly no deal-breaker. In fact, it's mostly the ones available from the beginning that suck, later on there's a good bit of variety and some of the chars are quite lovable.

Great game. Platinum level takes FOREVER. I've maxed out all characters and item levels, but I still only have 35% or so of the items in the Platinum level. You only gain 1-2% for each course you complete.

My best score so far is -19, and ironically enough, it's on the 3rd course (Olive Coase, I think). I need to top my -18 for the first course sometime.

Just got to bronze. Maybe it's psychosomatic, but I can only do extremely well with Julie (samurai) and I just bomb things out with other characters, even if the stats are more favorable with other characters. *shrugs*

If you have a Gamecube give a try to Mario Golf Toadstool Tour. I suppose you know it's made by Camelot and it's just like an Hot Shot game. But there's is more modes (quite alot). You also have more options with your swinging gauge. There's not more courses but there are some downright wacky ones in Marioesque envirronements. Must have game imo.

You only need to win the tournament. It's "normal long" to achieve.

What? You have to beat at least 8 events to move on from each level, and you have to move through many, many levels before you've unlocked all of the courses.

I didn't mind playing the same courses over and over again at all. That's what you usually do in real life golf anyway. :P
After a while you start to learn each and every hole down to the smaller details, which I think is very fun. And it's always a challenge in itself to beat old records during the times when the given challenge isn't much of a challenge.

Agreed. This is definitely my favorite PSP game. The gameplay lends itself well to a handheld. I really wish there was a alternating VS. Mode on one PSP however.

I agree, too. I was bitching about the repitition at first, but it was really great practice for the Platinum level, which can be really damn tough. I've probably spent more time playing this game than I did even Lumines. Great, great game, and it works great in 5-10 minute sessions, too.

Man, Toadstool Tour sucks. The swing system is so ass backwards. I want to get Advance Tour sometime. HSG4 is awesome though if you have the volume off. The people there are annoying. I don't mind the designs, its what the characters have coming out of their mouth.

As for playing a course eight times, why is this a big deal? So you can blast through all six tours and bitch about how short the game is? Its clear this game wasn't meant to be an epic golf game like HSG4. I expect Open Tee 2 to a much bigger golf game, although I don't doubt that there will lots of unlockables.

All this talk has made me want to play it again.

My flat played hours of that game, I thought it was great. esp the mario courses with the pipes and all.

I'm digging HSG OT a lot, but I must admit that I like Toadstool Tour a bit more as well, and Advance Tour much more than either.

I got to Silver level, and can't get past the 18H Dino Park challenge, even on Easy mode. That course is fucking ridiculous. I've been trying for two weeks to finish that tournament in first place.

Got Toadstool Tour on the first day :)
