But her bust is smaller in AC? So what do you want? Because, you just said that such an action is not true to the original design.

In the flashback in the beginning of AC, her design with suspenders, tanktop and shorts were shown. AC happens after the events of FFVII. They are doing a FFVII remake, not an AC remake; this is evident by the design of Cloud and Barret in the actual trailer.

So, as you said, Nomura understands his character. He will more than likely give the same design she sported in the original. You do not retcon an iconic design, cosplay material for decades, on a whim.

You just brought up a thought, but would they even have wet textures or transparency? I have to admit I would actually be impressed if they actually can capture any wet fabric correctly, white or not. Though if they aren't going to make it that realistic, I don't see what's the problem with a white top because it's not going to be see through anyways.

Though I think they did some wet texture in FF13-2 but I dunno if it actually made the clothes transparent or if it just made everything more glossy for a wet look since I haven't seen the game in a while.

For those who feel like her original design should remain untouched, a quick reminder:

- Her legs are about 2/3s of her entire body
- At their thickest point, her arms are still skinner than her ankles
- Each breast is nearly the size of her head
- Her thighs are wider than her waist
- That skirt is extraordinarily impractical for kickboxing, just sayin'...

Now, it's a good design, but I think it's pretty clear that it needs to be updated to fit more with the remake. The trailer seems to indicate that they're going for a more realistic aesthetic, and this is clearly not a realistic design.

I've always found many Tifa fans to be annoying with their obsession on her breasts. Like, at the least OP I've seen you actually like positive qualities about her and not focus on her awful sexualized appearance. I have other reasons for disliking Tifa but man the fans are a big reason.

As for design, I say keep her original appearance but fix up her clothing.

I could name other people with her body type, but they take their tops off and go nude as well, so I'd just be naming more pornstars.

I occasionally see girls at the malls with this body type. I did today. Yea, I kind of stared as I drove past, which gives credence to the rarity of it, but how am I missing the point?

I mean, do you want me to search for random candid photos of people off streets to back up my point that the body portions are not unrealistic?

Realistically, I think the G-bike designs are pretty indicative of where they'll go with this remake, so the AC render of Tifa's white shirt/black skirt design are probably what we're gonna get. The brief shot of Barret we see looks basically the same as his art from that game. Anyone asking for a wardrobe change will likely be disappointed, although, as others have said, costume DLC isn't out of the question.
