I don't have a lot of detailed impressions to give based on my first night with a Vive, but here are a few thoughts.
I have less than ideal lighthouse placement - one set flat on top of a rear speaker mounted on the wall, one diagonally opposite sat flat on a front speaker. Tracking has been fine for my space, occasionally jitters/occlusion but nothing major.
I had to fudge the outlining of my room a little bit. Tracing the space where I have full floor to ceiling movement meant I didn't have enough, so I traced over my sofa as I figure having room for my arms to move was more important than where my feet could go. It's given me 2.7m x 1.5m and it's been fine so far, although I'm being incredibly cautious to avoid hitting my TV, which feels like it would be easy to do even with chaperone.
Speaking of which - I fine chaperone really distracting. Not much that can be done about that, really, the benefit is obvious but I really wish I had enough space that the grid never showed up.
The comfort of the headset is fine, but I feel a constant need to fiddle with it and it never feels like I've quite got the fit right. Need to play around with the straps a bit more, but I think it's probably just the design more than anything.
Budget Cuts is phenomenal, by far the best example of what can be done with 360 tracking and a bit of movement space. A real shame the full thing isn't done for launch.
Audioshield is good but I haven't loved any of the patterns in the tracks I've played, which is the same problem I always had with Audiosurf, never as much fun/actually related to the music as normal rhythm games. Are there are hand made ones or are they all automatically generated?
I really like that bullet hell shooter game from The Lab. I wish I could load that directly instead of having to go through all the other stuff.
