Hyper Light Drifter [Kickstarter = Funded] Wii-U Stretch at 550K, Ends Oct 12

Really excited to see this doing well. Kind of worried that he keeps adding stretch goals that add feature bloat to the game....

yeah me too... I'm always worried about stretched features that make the game bigger... I also hope he will developp first on PC mac linux and then port to PS4 Vita instead of rush all version and crawl under bugs at release

While I want it for Vita, I completely agree: Focus on making the game first. Then port to mac, linux, Vita, PS4, grilled cheese sandwiches, etc.

Name: Rivan The Tamer

Attributes: User of searing RedShift light, causing great destruction when attacking. His companion beast adds to his already fierce tactics.

Domain: The Deep Red Keep, roaming the Barren Halls.

I like that the location is "roaming the halls of..."

I wonder if it will be like fighting Big Daddies where you can kind of follow them around and attack at will.

I think the dozens of people asking for Wii U ports of every crowd funded game ever would be better served by connecting their PCs to their televisions.

edit: I guess this also applies to the calls for PS4/Xbone ports. Open platforms are great for niche independent games and I'd be sad if I had to keep hoping for ports. Go right to the source.

Yeah, same

I had asked the dev about how the world is structured

Will the levels be linear, hub based, open for exploration?
The world is designed to be open for exploration with entry into enclosed Temples and Dungeons. There will be a central hub to return to.

I love the sound of that. I hope we actually get to explore the world and it's not like a overworld map like from Mount and Blade.

It's now $218,980, only another $1K plus for PS4 and Vita versions. I guessing that $300K stretch goal is for WiiU and Xbone versions?

I'm sick to death of the vast majority of pixel art indie games that have been coming out the last couple of years, but this looks absolutely wonderful.

Is there anyway I can upgrade from the 40 to the 60 to get the tee?

edit: Nvm I figured out how but they don't ship the tee outside of the US, boo.

I get the feeling it would say so if it was. Those are more binary than just "???". Then again, I'm not the creator.

Details on the Challenge Mode

This mode will have several mix-up mini quests for you to test your skills at; you'll have wave-based challenges where you fight off increasingly difficult hordes to see how long you can survive as you level up, boss rush runs, speed runs and other odd modes that wouldn't typically fit in the main game. All will have a scoring mechanism that unlocks achievements, plus we are working on local co-op for this mode.

Definitely getting this for Vita when it comes out. I might still get it for PS4 aswell but having a game like this that I can play on the move is far too tempting to pass up.

This just gets better and better! It's really not slowing down all that much. Pretty amazing.

I am a little concerned that it sounds like you have to chose a platform instead of getting it for each platform. I guess that's where the multiple copies comes into play. One to spend on a Steam key and one for a Sony key.

Heart Machine's updated the stretch goal list again:

The 300K unknown goal is add another dev to speeded production.
