Improved Switch 1 games on Switch 2

Just finished out Bowsers Fury since I only started it on S1. Super fun and looks great although I dont remember it being that bad on S1. About to play try echoes of wisdom.

Anyone try Trails through Daybreak II? I played the first one on Switch and had a decent time with it, haven't got the second yet but I've heard it was running pretty rough on Switch 1. Can't find anything online.
I haven't tried Daybreak 1, but I did pop in Daybreak 2 to for a bit, but I didn't notice any big improvements...

I just realized some people are using GL and GR to remap jump and/or run in BOTW so they can do both at the same time while also moving the camera...

And at the same time I realized you could remap SL and SR buttons to whatever you want if you like split joycons... WTF, Switch 2 controllers features are hidden game changers.

Just booted up Forgotten Memories on Switch 2 and HOLY CRAP. This has to be The most impressive indie Switch 1 game on Switch 2!

Here's a screenshot I took using "auto upload" to My Nintendo. (Neat New Switch 2 feature in the settings, if you didn't know)

Yes, that's correct, the game (supposedly) runs at 120fps. It runs incredibly smooth and I have a 120hz TV but not the software to verify fps. If anyone here has this game and can verify fps that would be great
I actually just quoted you so I can look this up later, but I have a counter to that indie game assessment. I just tried out Gory Cuddly Carnage on Switch 2, and it was made by two people. Control a cat on a hoverboard, and on Switch 2, it's as buttery smooth as you'd ever want an avatar in an action game to be. And this game is ALL action! You slaughter zombie unicorn hordes by the dozens, and the bosses are YUGE. Definite recommend. It ran the Switch ragged.

😂 I actually bought that game a while back but held off opening it up until I got Switch 2. I've played it and yes, for 2 people it is extremely impressive! I will say that the cat fur could use an update though (esp now that Switch 2 is out).

However, "Forgotten Memories" has multiple graphical effects that you can toggle on and off and actually had the foresight to include a 120fps setting! The game looks ridiculously good for being an indie game.

I just purchased it and will tinker!

it's kinda silly that Nintendo doesn't just have all the BC run in the SW1 docked mode even in handheld now
I'd assume it has to do with the complications of how docked mode works.

If it ran docked mode S1 games in handheld mode, would it even recognized the joycons? Or turn on at all since the switch enters a pseudo-sleep mode in docked mode

Not to mention there are games rhat function differently when in docked compared to handheld (the pokemon lets go games, for example force you to use a single joycon or the pokeball controller in docked mode. And Skyward sword has a completely different controls set in both modes)

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is now running at 60fps somehow

maybe it used a double buffer vsync with a 60fps lock?
that would mean if it ever dropped below 60fps on Switch 1 it would instantly lock to 30fps.
so could be that it just never hit 60fps on Switch 1 but the potential was always there 🤷

they can't do it by default as some undocked modes had special features like touch input, or in the case of Super Mario Party there were special Minigames that only work undocked.

so they would need to make it a sidebar toggle.
but yes, they should add the option

yeah, I guess, because everyone was sure that it was actually locked to 30, but it obviously wasn't. Same with Hyrule Warriors in Handheld mode.

I hope Metroid Dread gets a higher resolution update. But I doubt it. Seeing that M4 is around the corner.
I hope they patch Metroid Dread with a better soundtrack for Switch 2. 😐

Okay, I'll leave now.

I'm going to be trying out Kingdom Come: Deliverance when this download finishes.
EDIT- HOLY ISH!!!
