Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Launched to “Very Positive” reviews on Steam

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Have played a bit of it but have an issue as a 32:9 user. Cutscenes are not scaled correctly and cuts off the top and bottom parts. Looks like a 16:9 scale but zoomed in, so say 2 characters are talking, you can only see their mouths down to their chest and looks janky and silly.

Kinda ruins the immersion and experience, even though ultrawide users aren't that common, it still sucks.

Performance and graphics are fantastic though, even with full path tracing it holds a great framerate. One of the most polished games in recent memory.

Funny how only 16:9 resolutions seem to exists for some developers still.

Very intresting, as i got a PS5 Pro, il wait for the April 2025 release on that. But i mean these guys know how to make a shooter, the issue is the games where getting shit as they went chasing live service.

I'm assuming being forced into the confines of Indiana Jones kept their more... blue haired elements in check from being able to take creative liberties.

They still put a lesbian in there, ofc super meaningless to the story but DEI/sweet baby had to be there ofc, its relatively timid tho compared to spiderman2, tlou2 and many other DEI infected shit.

Definetely interested in this and will pick it up later down the road for PC.

Playing too much stuff right now - Silent Hill 2, Marvel Rivals and Astro Bot.

And I still have Baldur's Gate 3 to start :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Strange, seems to be selling well apparently

The Great Circle will peak at 15k ccu max and I'm being generous here. It will roughly translate to 150-200k copies. Add no DRM and early access for premium... So a lot of people simply torrented it, it's not like we're talking about a multiplayer game like Forza or MSFS here. For a game with a hefty IP cut (thanks for the leak, Insomniac) this is a catasprophic event, especially for the studio. MS should really stop with this malpractice of forward access at least with SP games because in the end pirates are enjoying the title ahead of all the legitimate customers. Also they've added premium upgrade SKU only after the release, the geniuses.

And it's sad, because some strange choices aside it's a genuinely unique and fun game. No wonder they are announcing PS5 port so early, at least it's a platform where people are buying games and kinda love story-driven adventures. But marketing for Indy was a clusterfrag from the reveal and the weak sales are hardly surprising for anyone who was following the game PR.

If a game as good as this doesnt sell, or drive serious numbers on gamepass and they are Pirating like you are saying. Then fuck all those people and anyone who doesn't have good taste in games, because this is one of the most original IP games we have had in recent memory.

I am hoping that the positive word of mouth drives a considerable amount of sales for this great game.

Opinions differ and maybe most people just don't think it's good or interesting enough, despite what reviews might say.

Let's be frank, if you're not an avid Indy fan the game is not exactly trying to entice a new audience. And it's sad to admit, but IJ is a spent franchise currently, especially among zoomers (many of whom are 25+)

Like i said in the other thread GHG GHG in tatters. Ass of Can Whooping Ass of Can Whooping get to work and help your boys mental health out. Assemble the troops and get to review bombing.

Joking aside, it's my goty and I'm only in gizeh. As an indy fan it's very special.
All the games release this year and this one is your GOTY :pie_eyeroll:

I wonder why and also wonder if this game was ps5/pc instead of xbox/pc if it would still be your goty. :messenger_expressionless:

Piracy will not make a dint.

The game won’t sell well at all because people (even on PC) that want to play it will just subscribe to Game Pass for a month if they aren’t a regular game pass subscriber.

We’ve seen time and time again that big releases don’t equate to subscriber growth for Game Pass. They have a user base of 25-30m and it remains consistent regardless.

The only platform where sales will come will be, you guessed it, PlayStation. Because those users don’t have an option to play the game for £10.

This is why, as much as people want to remain ignorant to the reality, Game Pass is an unsustainable model for anything outside of online focussed games (and even then quality, budgets and end price need to be spot on to work).

You are right. People play for £10 on gamepass and move on. On PS it will hopefully be a hit as it deserves it.

Momentum is big and growing. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Ahhh, ok you are a troll. I havent come across you before.

Jesus, I just read your post history. You havea hate boner for this game and Xbox. Clearly, the sodium that this is a game as easily as good as Sony's best is hurting you.

I don't trust honeymoon periods enough to convince me to buy a game IN the honeymoon period at full price.

BUT, this is good enough to convince me I will be playing the game sooner or later, which is a pleasant surprise.
