Local activists are reporting that ISIS publicly executed 19 Yazidi women in Mosul, Iraq, trapping them in cages and burning them to death after the women refused to have sex with ISIS fighters.

“The 19 girls were burned to death, while hundreds of people were watching,” a witness told ARA News.

A religious minority, the Yazidi people are no strangers to great violence from Islamic militants. In 2014 ISIS laid siege to their homes in northern Iraq, displacing and killing thousands as well as abducting women and children into sex slavery.
