With the confirmation that Xbox ROG Ally will NOT use cartridges, and not offer full games on cartridges which should be expected for a handheld (Looking at you Nintendo), how will this shape the discussion around Xbox and the coming PS handheld? Given that 100 % of the discussion related to Switch 2 is regarding game key cards. Why did Microsoft take the decision to go even further than the physical hating Nintendo when they shaped their own handheld? /s.

The Xbox handheld will be so niche that none will care, same as Steam Deck, because only really hardcore and informed people will eventually buy one. Nintendo come from a long story of successful mainstream haldheld consoles, so uninformed people expect to go to the store, buy the cartridge, put it into the console and play like they did from GameBoy time until 3DS (switch already had lot of games that required donwload). So with Nintendo the drama will take some time to be accepted.

…..who was ever under the impression it was using cartridges
Because all forum gamers know that the Switch 2 not having full games on cartridges only happened because Nintendo uniquely hates physical media, otherwise its incredibly easy to have 100gb+ AAA games fully on cartridges with zero issues. So the fact that Microsoft isn't giving gamers that option is a blemish for their handheld. And it should shape the discussion regarding their handheld to only be about games not being released fully on cartridges, just as it has shaped the Switch 2 discussion to only be about that issue since its release.

I bought my girlfriend a steamdeck, and she's using it nearly daily.
If the marketing is done right and usability isn't a hassle, I don't see any reason as to why people won't buy it.

But why is everyone making a handheld outside Nintendo not offering cartridges? Because from what i've read on gaming forums, its only Nintendo uniquely hating physical media that means AAA games are not released fully on 100gb+ cartridges, its cheap and easy to do from my understanding on the GKC outrage.
